What Are The Best Options for 3-4 Month Prepaid Plan?

I have an overseas visitor staying for only 3-4 months they say so looking for the best prepaid mobile plan to fit that.

They would need minimal data and just national calls.

I'm guessing maybe only 6 month plan might be available in this area.

So far all I can see is the $99 12 month catch prepaid plan.

Bit scared to put them on a month to month post paid plan because cancelling the plan would be tricky from their end as they are not very savvy when it comes to these things.

I guess are their any good 3-4 month prepaid plans atm worst case 6?

Thanks in advance.

  • Have you checked out kogans prepaid options? They have some deals at the moment, $10/mo for the first month, $15/mo after. Would be $55 for 4 months. https://www.koganmobile.com.au/

    • I thought of this problem is the traveller might not be able to turn it off themselves.

I guess I could hold the log in details and cancel turn off the service after they are finished with the plan.

Thanks this one was actually on my top of the list well the 12 month plan.

      • You can turn off auto recharge and opt to recharge with a voucher. You’ll just need to do it each month if you go month to month.

But the other option below may make more sense.

Good price for your needs. Just don't turn on auto recharge and you won't have a problem stopping the service when you're done with it

    • Oh wow yes this could be perfect

This would work If you have a CommBank credit/debit card and can activate before the end of this month.

  • Flip Mobile $4 per month If you can live with post-paid, 500MB, 100 SMS/MMS, 100 min talk

    • I saw this one it looked really good but my friend I think will definitely blow out the 100 min talk allotment.

I went with catch connect $20 90 days 20gb unlimited national standard calls and text for now which works out to be under $7/month.

Maybe if they extend their stay this might be a good backup.

His estimated stay in Australia is around 2.5 - 3.5 months he says but anything can happen.

    $5 credit inc.
    60 day expiry

365 day expiry On PAYG top ups

PAYG or Plan $15, $25 or $35 top up or add a plan anytime

    • I thought of this but the person who might be using it could be a risk factor for bill shock so I am staying with prepaid ones only or monthly plans with a hard limit that does not allow add ons unless manually purchased.
