Free Access to JB Hi-Fi BYOD Portal @ JB Hi-Fi Education

700
BYOD2024

Normally, you need a school issued code to access the JB education portal. BYOD2024 seems like the generic code to get in.

No idea if products are actually cheaper or not - but hey doesn’t hurt to have a look

Most schools publicly post their codes.

There is no discount, just curated products from what Jbhifi sells.

I'm seeing Macbook's for $100-200 cheaper on the edu portal then the normal website.

      For example
      Apple MacBook Air / 13.6-inch / Apple M2 / 8GB / 512GB SSD / Space Grey - $2098 on Edu portal

On the normal website it's $2299

Better off using Apple's education stores.

when macbooks pros are 500 to 1000 dollars cheaper than its worth it 100 to 200 on a macbook pro is nothing.

Maybe there's no discount on some items but there's definitely discount on others

Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse is $29 on the JB Hi-Fi website and only $23 on the JB Education website.
Logitech H151 Stereo Headset is $49 on the JB Hi-Fi website and only $38 on the JB Education website.

      • M240 is also $19 at Scorptech.

When I have used corporate or edu logins to jbhifi I couldn't find many cheaper options. I think the main way they make money is your less likely or not able to price match via edu… So they probably make alot of money off non ozbarginer type people who just assume they are getting the best price

    • They absolutely have cracker deals from time to time (the corporate store). I remember saving a fair bit off the XM5 when it initially came out, within the first month of release - it was a fair bit lower than the best deal posted on Ozb (I think it was $433).

Opposite spectrum: Ipad 9th gen 64gb normal $449 and $497 on the program.

  • Not worth it…

  • BYOD portals are not cheaper.

They are either simply prescribed consumer devices or they are prescribed education-class devices that aren't sold on the main website which I promise you are not exciting. Their main premise is reliable or pre-purchased stock and better support/repair service.
