        No it depends on the mood of the staff member at the time.

        I tried to price match a Moto G a few years ago to a JB literally in the same shopping centre but they refused because JB didn't list some obscure part number that Officeworks use on their website (and not even the "official" Motorola number but some sort of SKU that NO ONE ELSE listed online). So even when it's exactly the same product at a store 5 min away they will still find reasons not to price match. (profanity) them.

      MTK chipsets and modems are C tier and way behind Snapdragon, Exynos and even Kirin

      The Dimensity 7020 is not even a real development - MTK just renamed the 2 year old Dimensity 930 and didn't even bother to make any changes

      Combined with Motorola's infamous software support and MTK's continuing refusal to release source code for custom ROM development, this is a mid spec disposable phone being sold for its true value

        Mediatek is very good value for money, you would never get an equivalent Snapdragon for a similar price, they are a great option for this price point.

          yeah, the snapdragon faster update vs mediatek price difference for me is mediatek and save some money, my oppo x5 lite was only 3 mths behind the snapdragon version but was much cheaper. i don’t run custom roms, i’m just a phone user.

          MTK offer cheap initial prices

          Whether you feel their issues with app compatibility, modem flakiness, power consumption and poor software support are balanced out by the cheap price is your own decision

          … you would never get an equivalent Snapdragon for a similar price

          Feature specs are useless when the modem/radio hardware + baseband are C tier

          With 3G gone by September, all the real issues that MTK and Motorola never discuss - including compatibility with VoLTE / VoWiFi / VoNR across all 3 carriers - will become evident

      Wait for a great pixel 7a/7 deal. Don't get your daughter a mediatek Moto phone mate (just putting myself in your shoes). Even though they may not be as cheap as this. As someone pointed out above, this is a use and throw phone. A pixel will get you at least 2-3 years, if not more.

      oled is the g84, but that’s currently $380, but also gets 256gb ram and is snapdragon …. depends what you want from a phone and how much extra you are willing to pay for better screen that you look at several times per day for the next 2 years, is it for yourself or your kids or grandparents ?

          Yes. Categorically absolutely definitely sure.

          Hence, I use bitwarden on my apple devices instead of keychain since I also need to access passwords on non-apple devices. And apple pay works for me since I mostly just pay with my iPhone, but Android Pay has great acceptance too if you need to use that.

    Agree with all that but powerful performance. It's not show, but don't use it like a premium phone, I got a lot of app closing.

    GPS is loosing tracking after a hour or so.

    It has not only the worst camera you could find today (worst than a 7 years old LG), but it doesn't even have an ultra wide angle lens.

    I tried from a previous deal and had to give it back to get an old S20 for the same price with 5G and esim. Everything is so much better, unless the battery obviously.

      Worst camera? I compared against my iPhone XR and 14 Pro before I decided this was a great option for my mother going on holidays. This is 80%, for 20% of the price.

      moto, who are lenovo are good at mid range phones, probably because they make PCs, laptops and build servers they are geared up. I usually just buy mid range phones. only downside is 2 OS updates, nokia do 3. but with 800 charge cycles , if charged daily you can afford new phone in 2-3 years.
