Shit phone anyway not missing much

          • @wingun: May be wingun is using a HIGH-end phone & hence his comments?

Similar-phones WILL be on-sales, including G54. Those who can wait, older MEDIUM-end (& upwards) Motorola are periodically on-sales: up-to 50% OFF @ JB HiFi.

For those who're looking for a BASIC-phone, G54 is likely to meet many users' need. If you have a particular-feature(s) that is a must-have, eg eSIM, read-WIDELY to see what owners/reviewers are saying…you'll be surprise with the capability of G54: a LOW-end phone.

I charge my G54 over-night using a usb-hub that output 1 to 2W (AccBattery App): battery is cool-ish during charging: even with 30° room temp…battery-longevity.

            IF you-re using Telsta/Optus mobile-network & are using an OLDER-phones (4yr +), test your CALL-function with a Vodafone sim-card: only-they have switch-OFF their 3G-network & many OLDER-phones can't CALL @ 4G-network. You can look for sales (RE-placement phone), as Telstra & Optus WILL turn-off their 3G-network later THIS-year. Make sure your RE-placement phone has VoLTE-feature, AND can operate @ 4G LTE band-28: double-check with manufactures, eg expand 'view all specifications'-> https://www.motorola.com.au/smartphones-moto-g54-5g/p

    price movement been wild lately

  • Most stores in Brisbane still got limited stocks this morning. Milton store still got 3 when I left around noon.

  • Been a wild ride seeing the price fluctuations. I asked the kind JB Hifi folk via their "Ask for a JB Deal" chat and they did it for $189 and much more convenient location for me to pick up than OW. It's for my son and looks like a great phone for the price, hopefully real world performance matches up to the specs/reviews!

I used this page for TGG price match on their live chat, then applied my $30 off voucher so bring it down to $167 inc delivery.

  • I managed to get 2 at $165 each from TGG.

    • How?

    • How did you use the $30 voucher. I tried but the chat reps told me they are separate promotion.

      • Yes I did use the $30 store credit voucher when I go and paid in store. You won't be able to red
Travel Club Loungeeem through chat or online sales.

This the new go to burner phone

    • +1

Remember back to 2016 when the Samsung Note 7 was THE burner phone?

    • -8

looks like landfill to me, price keeps going down despite constant advertising/media attention/influencer shilling, almost half the speed of the iphone se2 for similar price, retail/herd fomoing at the top thinking they got a deal etcetc

      classic market psychology

      • Classic Negative Nancy.

Do you have one - so you can make even just the barest of an informed comment?

        • -6

what kind of phone drops 50% of value within 3 month while ppl shill it and still have vehemently defend it? Sounds familiar?

          • @abctoz: May be Motorola is trying to increase market-share (# of device sold) & brand-awareness. Vodafone recently turned-OFF their 3G-network & many-users can't CALL with their OLDER-phones (4yr +) & hence are looking for replacement?

My G54 delivers even @ $250: few phones can match with features & speed…no negative as yet 🤞
I did have some doubt regarding 'potential' paid/bias reviews for G54, or some owners in India claimed that their G54 runs-warm: likely due to high-ambient temp. & heavy-use, or being dupe by exaggerated claims: eg Huawei Y5 2019.

            • @ab c: well you would be happier if you got it for $190, I don’t particularly condone the kind of advertising that goes on around here, some panicky retailers wanted to dump a lot of g54s

they’re fine for general use, so is my $80 realme c3 from 2020, just much slower than a iPhone SE 2 for example

    • Thought the same thing but I've become fond of the G54. Now it's confirmed for Android 15, it's become quite the value proposition

    • Out of stock.

  • I wonder if this is to clear all stocks.

Does it mean that the margin is over $100 for the retailers?

  • Price match it at Bigw anyone

Any man and his dog now have one of these.

  • Des the Motorola G54 have the annoying motion sensor like the cheaper G14? Where the screen keeps waking up at the slightest movement? Even when just carrying it around in pocket or sitting untouched in car when driving. Instead of just staying off in standby.

    • +1

It's the attentive display setting I believe, it can be switched off

      • +4

Been looking for this, and after searched for a while - it should be the setting in:
Lock screen -> Wake the display -> Moving the phone (disable)

    • One person's annoyance is another person's appreciation.

  • Does anyone know how many esims this can handle?

    • +1

At least 2 - after that, who knows.

    • -1

1 esim and one physical sim

      • How do you know this?

I have an eSIM in my phone, and it allows me to go through the steps of setting up a second eSIM - without actually going to completion.

  • Is this better than one plus 5T?

  • Better than a pixel 6?

    • +2

      Absolutely NO JUST NO

  • Maybe I could get on the waitlist for one, but comparing the specs it seems very similar to my fairly new Moto G32. Only real difference is more RAM and 5G.

I'm seeing people buying these then flock them on eBay and gumtree to try and make a buck or two

Good luck dealing with scammers and holding stock, and getting ripped by eBay

  • Anyone running diablo immortal on this phone?
Looking for a cheap phone for afk farming.

    • +1

      google/youtube says yes

  • Ahh, too slow, just missed it.
Hopefully it's not too long before another deal
