Offline Pages Pro (iOS) $10.49 -> Free

510

From the iTunes page, this app basically

allows you to save web pages and entire websites, including formatting and images, and read them offline.

First time it's free according to Appshopper; original price is a little inflated but hey- can't beat the current price.

Do take note that this app has a non 'pro' version which is currently free as well. It's quite limited in terms of functionality compared to the pro version.

/update 3 November: the app becomes free again after a brief period of reverting to its original price!

  • Any advantages over Pocket/Read it Later or Instapaper?

  • thanks

  • Out of stock!

Okay I'm kidding, great app, advantage over pocket, saves the raw webpage not just a formatted version where there is just the text

  • Looks good. It seems that rather than just saving the main text content and maybe some images (like Pocket/Instapaper), this can be set to download an entire page "as is", and also all (or some) of the links off that main page if you want (and even links off those pages).

While most people might not need this, it could be brilliant for travelling. For example, put your favourite blog/website in, then when you have wifi you can "update" it, and so you have the full posts and whatever they linked to. I.e. put "theverge.com" in, download all the links off the front page and you get all the full posts with pictures, which is better than their RSS feed (truncated posts).

This used to be $10.49? That seems like a wildly inflated original price, I wouldn't imagine this being anything but free, am I missing something?

  • Downloaded - strangely enough it gives an adult content warning for over 17's only.

    • That's standard for any app that has a browser. Apple's restriction.

  • thanks OP.

Why did they have to say they made it free coz of the hurricane? It makes no sense to me… Hurricane affected users can now safely read later?

people may not have access to wifi thus, if they save the pages they'll be able to read stuff presumably

    babelshot seems good though

  • man everyone this is awesome.

I can have my ozbargain anytime, anywhere, online, offline with this app.

    Thanks OP!

  • Cheers but doesn't ios 6 already have this imbedded on the os?

    • iOS6 made my iTouch4G an iPOS. I feel guilty, like I'm looting NYC from 8000km away…

  • thanks

    No longer free?

  • Tried but the app isn't free.

  • Tried but the app isn't free now.

  • Still free in US App store

  • What's the US link please?

    • This, but it only works if you have a US account. Otherwise, the link would automatically revert back to the AU store.

  • Thanks. Why was it advertised in Aus? Assuming most of us have Aussie apple account!
