This is fantastic game - both in PUG multiplayer or with friends

Excellent game, but only get it if you play multiplayer, much better with friends

      much better with friends

Understatement. It's absolutely boring in solo.

    • The level variety is a bit limited, so probably best to play with friends, instead of playing with strangers for 50 hours then getting tired of it before you even ask a friend to play with you.

Community is very friendly and laid back for the most part, I made lots of friends in this game.

This game goes on sale very frequently :D

It was at this price only a few weeks ago and has gone on sale at-least once every month the majority of the time over the past year. You can see the price history of games using SteamDB if you ever want an accurate look at the history of a game's prices.

Oops, thanks for the heads up - I've updated the post accordingly. Cheers for the resource!

Probably worth noting that it's already included in Gamepass.

Fantastic game with a great community, my friends all love it. Alas it gives me terrible motion sickness so I can’t join in :(

Not sure if this will be helpful at all, but I had a similarly pukey friend for whom I hammered out a list of possible fixes to work through over a weekend.
Hopefully something in here might help you rock and stone again:
      *lowering FOV
      *disabling motion blur
      *lowering or disabling headbob
*lowering or disabling camera shake on hit
      *lowering post processing
*lowering resolution for capped FPS vsync
*lowering resolution for capped FPS black frame insertion
and finally what ended up being the solution:
*tweaking brightness and gamma — Some people's eyes have trouble with distance perception in low light scenarios and keep trying to focus incorrectly.

      • Thanks, I’ll have to give these a try and see if it helps.

I get it a bit too, but the comment below outlines some good fixes. There's a few reddit threads about it also. Good thing to take a break between missions too for a few minutes and look away from your monitor.

  • +3

Quick look at the comments, no point getting it if you don't have friends to play with?

    • +4

You'll get a robot partner in solo mode, but yes it's far more fun with friends. (Matchmaking is there and is well-populated though if you don't mind paling around with randoms)

Beyond this being a fun FPS game, the main reason it is fun is because of all the dumb shit you can do, spamming V to Rock and Stone, having a beer in the rocket hottub and passing out, and just the sense of accomplishment when you finish a tough mission. You don't need many friends to play with, in fact I most enjoy duo. At this price you could consider buying it as a gift for a friend even with a remote interest in gaming.

Another thing to note is that you can join a public game with randoms. And generally speaking the community of DRG is really friendly, so you may find a friend that way also. Just don't take more than 1 resup when playing public without asking or people may get annoyed ;)

      • Very much what @coconutwomb said!
I prefer to game solo, both DRG and other games, but sometimes you just want to drop into a multiplayer game for a bit of light entertainment and DRG is perfect for this.
There's never a point where you're competing against your team. Like, loot is shared, everybody has different skills, so it's always just nice people having a nice fun time. No jerks, like many other games where people would step over their grandmother to steal loot before you do.
You can just chill, sometimes you'll just hang at the bar (or jacuzzi) chatting about something interesting and next thing you've been "playing" for 2 hours but haven't left the ship XD
