You can safely ignore comments like using your iPhone.
You really do have to download the APK for Android from their website to install the Mimo app.
A huge company pulling their app is a red flag.
That's super lame, they need to do better.
As an Android user I am automatically more swayed to go with GoPro just because of this entry point.
Valid point - same issue with the Mavic drone software and such.
I was also initially looking at the GoPros and was about to pull the trigger until I was informed about the overheating issues for longer captures! So now leaning towards the Osmo Action 3, Action 4 has better low light capability but not sure it's worth the extra dosh in my use-case.

I don't think the issue is around the conspiracy theories floating about and is just genuinely an incompatibility issue about the app packaging for the Google play store! Think about it this way, the same software packaged for Apple is still completely fine for use in the Apple app store.
Interestingly, it's on the galaxy store if you have a Samsung phone. I wonder why it's not on the play store
Purchased the normal version with the JBhifi afterhours sale few weeks ago. My main use is underwater videos, and I am really pleased with the video quality and stabilization. Although I could have gotten away with Action cam 3 which is significantly cheaper now. Their app is a hit or a miss, but with the difference in price compared to Gopros I can work with it.
For underwater vids how is the colour rendering… filters necessary at all?
If you are travelling , better to get from ebay for the same price (inclusive of $50 voucher), that way the invoice is issued for the full amount.
