[Pre Order] Nothing Phone 2a 8GB/128GB A$529 Delivered @ Nothing

1731

I'm on Nothing's mailing list and received notice of this recently, was actually shocked by how low the price was - at $529 for the 8gb/128gb model and only $70 more for the 12gb/256gb model. Estimated shipping from 12 March.

Chipset seems to benchmark well for a mid-range chip with a ~740,000 Antutu score.

Given the specs, this seems like an excellent deal at RRP vs something like the Pixel 7a, with a 120hz display, vs 90hz and, according to reviewers, significantly bettter battery life at the cost of a worse camera.

Not just the customer backlash of existing customers, would not be surprised if AMTA or telco ombudsman make them turn it back on.

This is on top of the networks continuing to sell older MediaTek chipset equipped phones, it's like knowingly selling phones that will be obsolete in less than 12 months (or duration of contract). Mind you the SOC in 2a is the current gen (2024) not them older ones.

This say nay behaviour is kind of like the laptop network adaptor snobs that only accept Intel wifi modules and write off all the products from other companies. While people can have their preferences, telling others the other brands are shit where in reality I have never had trouble with other brands is what rubs against me.

          Time will tell…
