    delicious

  • I got the other day the CORSAIR Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 7000MHz CL40 Latency: 40-52-52-114 for around $180.
Still in package, thinking whether the extra 16Gb and lower latency (but 1000Mhz slower) is worth it.
    Opinions please?

    • I assume for Intel CPU? I wouldn't bother changing if its Intel, if it's AMD then your better off with the 6000 and lower latency

      • Yeap i7 14700k.

        • +1

So technically you can use the speed although the timings aren't the best i doubt there would be any noticeable difference. Which leaves the question if you'll use the extra RAM like others say VMs etc. If all it's for is gaming then you won't need more than the 32gig.

    • +2

depends what you use it for, most of the time i doubt you'd need more than 32 gigs unless you're running multiple VMs or say you have a ton of plugins in DAW lol.
i'd honestly stick to the one you have just for the higher speed. you wont really need more than 32 for games but faster speed is beneficial for performance, be it only a little.

    • where'd you get that?

      • Was last item on Amazon (sold by Amazon warehouse), and supposedly Condition: Used - Like New - Item will come in original packaging.

      Im no engineer but 32 x 1000 Mhz = 32,000 Mhz BUT 16x6000Mhz = 96000Mhz ( 64000 Mhz more for extra 16GB ram)

      • +9

Would actually love for you to explain the logic behind this calculation and the result in further detail

There is nothing about that sentence that makes sense…

        24gb of 6000MHz RAM is not 144,000MHz total, it's still 6000MHz
        16gb of 7000MHz RAM is not 112,000MHz total, it's still 7000MHz

It's like saying my car has a 100L tank so it can travel at 100km/h (50L tanks can only travel at 50km/h)

Also, the numbers in your comment are all picked out of random places? like, did you just copy this page into ChatGPT and told it to come up with a random mathematical comparison?

im no engineer but why doesnt the OP just download more ram, why bother spending more money smh

      • glad you specified that you aren't an engineer

      • so glad you are not an engineer…..

24GB sticks, as I live and breath. Thank you for sharing, sir.

Not as great as this, but the 32gb 6000mhz CL30 kit seems relatively well priced from Amazon US when comboing it with a Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX for around ~480 for both with the 5% discount for bundling. More-so because of the board than the RAM, you save about ~40 bucks compared to buying the same from Computer Alliance eBay with the current discount code. 7800X3D is also $575 from Metrocom eBay for a full platform upgrade.

  • I bought the dominator titanium version of this kit for $243.55 so I think this is really good deal.

  • would this work with a ryzen cpu? ive seen some conflicting information regarding XMP and EXPO cross compatibility.

    • +2

worst that can happen is you have to manually enter timings

    • +2

Yes, EXPO is just more optimized for AMD out of the box. XMP/EXPO are just automatic OC profiles, worst case scenario is that you'll have to manually adjust timing

      • thank you

        • +1

worth noting that these hynix m die sticks are very capable overclockers, so do consider adjusting those timings manually anyway :)

    OOS and back to $341

  • +2

    Thanks for posting OP!

  • Shows as $341.01 now?

  • +2

back to full price. shame - congrats to those who managed to snag this amazing deal! And thanks OP for sharing

    • Its probably Corsair surge pricing again like the last deal

  • don't 24gb sticks have issues with some IMCs and hitting box speeds?

  • +1

    Ahhh shoooot, missed out! 😭😭😭
Planning on a new build with the 7800X3D and this would have been perfect!

    Thanks anyway @Look Up❤️

    • Since the new AM5 socket platform seems to have issues with RAM, I played it safe and got RAM with EXPO profiles. That was last year though, so not sure if the situation has improved.

      • +1

I'm not sure the ram has improved , but AMD BIOS's definitely have .

      • +1

it's gotten muuuch better with newer agesa versions to the point of it not really being a concern anymore, imo.

        • Can confirm I’m running expo but I have an expo kit.

Same latency and speed but it’s the gskill trident z5 neo.

    • Grab an expo kit instead and set those ram voltages and your nb soc voltage to 1.24v from the start!

  • +1

I had second thoughts and cancelled my order, who ever got the last one.. you're welcome

  • Amd chips love low latency. Nice find

  • Pretty good for 24Gbit Hynix M-die.
