PureVPN: 110% Cashback (New PureVPN Customers) @ Cashrewards

220

Just signed up with their plus subscription for *$89.95USD ($141.73 paypal). Tracked to get $144.87. Not bad I guess. Has 4 major states where most 711 petrol prices are low so extremely useful for our frequent flyers out there. :) Enjoy!

Do you need VPN now to fly the chopper?

    • +1

Some claim that to be the case but I have no issue locking any state without a VPN.

    • +2

Did an experiment just now. I'm using an android clone on my mac. Cheapest at the moment is in WA. I'm in NSW and tried to lock but got an error. Used the VPN server in Perth, locked in with nil issues.

      • Hey what app do you use for your mac can you pls share

      • But the max discount you can get on fuel is still 25c per L, right?

        • correct. I'm in Perth and looked in at $1.76 last week but when I went to fill up the price had jumped to $2.20. My understanding is that my effective price I paid was $1.95.

I should have just filled up at the $1.76 price as I was almost on empty.

    • HI does this offer cover all types of subscriptions, such as the max version. please confirm

Hi this is the amount mine tracked i purchased plys plan but bank only charged me 37 but i got this email
      AUD 88.49
Estimated approval: Up to 95 days Can they remove the remainder amount?

  • How are speeds/latency on this? I've only used Surfshark in the past but my sub expired last year, been waiting for a deal

    • +1

It depends on which country I guess. I'm getting an 84mbps on an 250mbps tier NBN connected to an Australian server. US server gets me 45mbps.

I find that their tvos app is quite buggy on their UI (unclickable elements) and their windows app is so slow to launch!

It offered me some 5 year deal when I clicked through, wondering would we get 110% cashback if taking up that

    • +3

I do wonder that as well. The direct link is https://www.purevpn.com/5-year-special.

      • Yes, just got offered the same. The offer triggers when you try to browse away from the site / close the tab

        • Tracked for me as well.

    • +3

Paid for 5 year and it just tracked

  • Is it still working? I am looking to buy a Standard Membership for 2 years (USD 54.95). What are the conditions to be eligible for a refund and how low does it usually take to get the cashback?

  • +2

OP you paid $141.73 but got tracked only $144.87? thats not 110% cashback

    • Ozbargain member since 2007 but don't know how this works? Hm

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will exclude upsold products, GST, other taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

      • So they bought extra products?

        • ?

    • +1

It only tracked $131 from the transaction instead of the full amount. Don't know why.

      • +1

        Always happens with VPN deals

    • +2

Cashback only paid on amount excluding GST. Typically in the 100% cashback deals the purchasers still wear the 10% GST. I'm not sure how OP managed to make 2% profit, I would have expected OP to break even, roughly.

      • +2

ahhhhh im used to shopbacks 120% cashbacks

  • Is there a way to turn off auto renew with the billing period ends?

    • +1

I think you can turn it off inside paypal if you pay via paypal.

  • +2

For those concerned with privacy, they don't seem to make any no-logs claims on their site that I could find

    • "PureVPN established a no-logs policy in 2018 and was first independently audited by KPMG in 2021 to certify it as a no-log VPN company. It completed its fourth successful audit with in 2023. The no-logs policy means the VPN won't log any data that can identify you or assist in monitoring your online activity."

However in a recent instance the FBI were able to build a case around some dude sending threats by noting the times an IP address had logged into a VPN through the service provider and went on to engage in illegal activity on other sites. So not a slam dunk but part of a puzzle.

  • cashback is not a sustainable business, do not hold money in it.

    • Can you expand on this please

      • +3

much of their staff is gone and has plenty of open positions advertised for some time. can be a sign of a collpasing business internally.

while its fine to use it, do not leave your rewards idle in their business, as one day you could see it shut down without notice.

    • what about the other cashback services like shopback and topcashback? given they have a similar business model

  • Please share how you use it for 711 frequent flying

Thanks, good timing. This VPN is one of few that works in China. Heading off to see the great wall and glad i can now get around the great firewall ;)

    Tracked $160.97 for a 5year plan . Thanks !
I also signed up with a different email from the one I use on cashrewards if this helps anyone.

  • +1

Signed up for 5 years and tracked for $160.97, that makes $15 of VPN for 5 years!!

    • +1

But how much did u have to pay?

      • +2

Actually, my cashback was $160 and I paid $145, so $15 profit

  • Out of curiousity, is there a way to stop auto renew now so that we dont have to remember to do it in 5 years time?

    • +3

i sent email to the support team, they turned it off in 24hrs.

  • Do all the extras/add-ons also get full bonus cashback rate?

    • Cashrewards page says to check PureVPN's T&Cs.

      PureVPN's chat support's reply:

Thank you for holding. Cashbacks are generally applicable on standard plans, and not on the add-ons, however, for better guidance, I would suggest you to contact Cash Reward support

I know Cashrewards will take a week (at best) to respond, so just going to assume none of the add-ons get included.

    • +2

can confirm they are not after trying for some reason

  • Sigh. Mine didn't track near-immediately like everyone else. Probably going to be a problematic claim with CR customer support.

  • +1

This is on again, got tracked within an hour.
