So they are absolutely 100% sure that it wheys 2kg?

    • +1

      Whey too lame πŸ˜‚

      • +1

        This is the whey

      • +13

        Casein point

  • Nice post OP.

Ah, Soy Lechitin. Can't turn around anywhere without some good ol' soy Lechitin.

They must be pushing it everywhere because they just simply love humanity and have your (your?) best interest in mind…

I love how you can't buy anything anywhere any more that's not full of artificial πŸ’©, modified πŸ’©, deadly πŸ’©.

"but, but, government wouldn't have approved it if it was harmful and dangerous, not safe to consume, it's all been well tested before approval"

In a study published in Food and Chemical Toxicology, the researchers concluded by stating that soy lecithin was also found to be strongly estrogenic. These estrogenic compounds found in soy have been shown to disrupt thyroid and endocrine hormone production.

The phytosterols are similar to the isoflavones found in soy protein (genistein and daidzein). Even more alarming is the phytosterols found in soy lecithin are structurally similar to the synthetic estrogen diethylstilbestrol (DES). Therefore, soy lecithin may increase estrogen and decrease testosterone in your body.

    • -1

      Real. Don’t buy this junk

    • +3

Or, if you're fat, trying your best at the gym, you'll reduce your estrogen more by drinking this protein, recovering from exercise, getting consistency at the gym and also not feeling as hungry. Because body fat is a much more reliable a predictor of high estrogen than phytoestrogens

      • +2

Or just buy a better protein powder. Even at 50% off this seems steep for 72% protein and 8% sugar.

        • Why's this not good? I've been having it for a while it's pretty alright

        • Sure. The AminoZ WPI I have is 80% protein 8% sugar and I would argue tastes much better than any Musashi I've ever had but It's not currently on special

    • +1

100% whey is soy free, is it not?

      • Soy-ta, you really have to whey up the research.

    • +11

      This is just scare-campaign nonsense.
The isoflavone load from this much soy lecithin is absolutely negligible.

If you watch your intake this harshly you wouldn't use whey at all, for the heavy metals.

Plus most of the isoflavone and phytonutrient discourse has been thoroughly debunked.

Stop listening to fear-capitalising nonsense like Chris Kresser and stick to the evidence.

    • +2

Yeah nice nonsensical rant. You seem so sure then end with "may"… Interesting.

      What's the study?

    • +3

Ridiculous, The Soy increases estrogen myth has been disproven so comprehensively

    • +1

Trust me bro, do your own research don't listen to the scientists they're all on the take. If you eat a potato you'll turn into one because that's how that works! /s

    • I used to worry like you, but it really isnt a problem. Even eating a junk burger once a month or walking in a polluted CBD is probably much worse than a little bit of soy used to help dissolve whey in water/milk etc.

  • +1

Didn't know you can price beat at chemist warehouse

  • +6

Chemist Warehouse beats the price by 10% off the difference, and not off the retail price.

    • +1

The last I went to ask for pricebeat on Woolsworths price, it was declined and they say they don't price beat

      • Hah. They did the exact same thing to me too. Claimed it was well under cost of they price beat it and refused it. Seems franchisees will make up their own rules now.

      • depends on the store manager, some are absolute (profanity) and won't do it or will make up some excuse. MOST chemist warehouses though will price beat, but thats in my experience, YMMV, still worth a shot though.

        • At what point do you pricebeat at a chemist warehouse store? during checkout?

          • @John Doh: In store at check out. Bring the item to the cash register and show proof of other stock that is supplied by an AUS company that also has stock.
Some stores are more lenient then others and will add or remove barriers as they see fit, but most will honor it as long as its against an AUS store thats brick and mortar.

            • @ULT: Cool, thanks mate :)

              • +1

@John Doh: No problems mate, gl with the protein hunt, its a decent price beat.

    • It's 10% of the difference so usually not worth much but I've only ever had them price match rather than beat. Don't argue as it's usually good enough.

  • +4

Use to stock up when it was $40. Not for a few years now sadly. Now I go amino Z.

  • lol you can only buy 3 protein bars max. Do you even lift chemist dudes?

    • Bruhhhhhhhhh and here I was thinking of stocking up 50

  • +1

So annoyed I stocked up on the AminoZ deal. This is cheaper and I actually prefer the flavour.

    • Just buy both. Protein powder lasts for a while.

    • +2

AminoZ is cheaper when including the credit you also receive. AminoZ protein is way better than Musashi these days.

      • AminoZ protein is way better than Musashi these days.

        How is it better?

        • +2

Aminoz has higher more protein per serve. Musashi has more fillers, higher sugar and carb content. Musashi is a mix of WPI and WPC.

      • Only if they do sales more often

    • before you compare prices make sure you look at the ingredients list first. compare protein and sugars and what type of protein.

      • I prefer Musashi for mixability and flavour (it's not painfully sweet), and the protein per serve is not too much worse - certainly close enough for the price difference

        • yeah. it does mix well and taste good. but aminoz is a little cheaper and a little better and an australian company so thats what i get.
i also dont feel that the price hike from the $40 and $45 i use to pay is warranted. its hard to pay so much more when for years i paid substantially less.
amino z creatine is a no brainer though. so much less then musashi.

          • @DarwinBoy: AminoZ isn't cheaper

            • @Wolfenstein98k: When on special it is. I paid $40 for a kilo last year.

              • @DarwinBoy: This is cheaper than that

                • @Wolfenstein98k: ??? It's $22.49 for 350gms here. That's about $65 a kilo. You can buy a kilo for $48 at amino Z right now and it gets less with their promos like where I said I paid $40. Whereas this is as about as good as it gets for Musashi creatine. During the sales at chemist warehouse they usually leave creatine off the promo.

                  • @DarwinBoy: Musashi 100% Whey, 2kg, is ~$61.50. look at the OP.

                    Not talking about creatine

                    • +1

@Wolfenstein98k: I just got 4kgs of WPI from amino Z for 90 something dollars. That included me using promo credit from their last sale but I also got the same promo credit again for next sale so I will pay the same price again or pretty close.
That's how I have been buying WPI the last 2ish years.
Look at amino z's big sales every few months. If youre chasing WPI it's as good as you can get on a consistent basis.

  • Oh so you mean if I go chemist Warehouse, where they musashi products are not half price.. And I can tell them to price match with good price pharmacy and they will beat it with extra 10% off??

  • Does Costco price match this deal?

  • +1

2kg protein would actually be $57.64 because the price beat is 10% off the difference. Chemist warehouse currently sell it for $99.99.

  • Whey too exy for me atm, I need more money first. But its a good deal right now.

  • Oh chemist warehouse changed their price match policy from 5 to 10%. It's still bad though as it's off the DIFFERENCE not the full price.

Example: cheaper item 90. Chemist warehouse 100. You get 10% of the difference which is $10x10% so $1 off. Not 90x10% = $9 off. Final cost is 89 not 81.

    Pls change the title.

  • Just called my local store (Geelong), they won't price match the 2kg Shred and Burn.

Their reason is that there is only one store in Victoria (Frankston) and they called the store and the store said they don't stock that product.

Might have more luck in other States but no great for Victoria.

  • got it at chemist warehouse for AUD 57.64

  • Price match + 10% difference @ Chemist warehouse and 15% for Westpac @ Shopback.

Works out around $22 per kilo. Best i can get at Bulk Nutirents is about $32.30 per kilo for 10kg.

    PA: it's 30% off, not 50%

  • Awesome deal. Price matched with chemist warehouse no issues
