    • Yup, not all their books are the cheapest, and you should definitely shop around. I do find that they tend to be cheap for Australian authors though, e.g. John Dickson

      For an example, see Humilitas.

Just a quick question. Why are admins and mods always posting this deal? Last time it was scotty.. quickly upvoted by you moocher, this time its the other way round. I don't think its shifty just a little bit curious… do you guys get the inside scoop on their deals?

    • +4

I think we just both happen to shop at Koorong, that's all. We don't get any inside scoop, no. I have been hoping for a pre-Christmas sale to get a few things for friends and just noticed the sale today.

Actually I posted the last one - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/82365 - and I'm not an admin or a mod.

If these prices are more expensive than elsewhere, as pointed out by a poster above, then how is this a bargain?

    • +1

See examples in the deal description and also in reply above.

Just because some items in the shop aren't the cheapest doesn't mean they all aren't.
That and products only Koorong carry (not found anywhere else on Booko)

Koorong are famously anti-Catholic so their books aren't much good to me, but I have bought bible cases there from time to time. Do they have any nicer stuff (e.g. leather) at the moment? Don't really want to make the long trip just to be disappointed.

    • -1

anti-Catholic, really? dont they just cover most christian in general?

      • -1

        Catholic =/= Christian.
Koorong is a Christian store, hence the lack of Catholic items I guess.

        • -1

Catholic does equal Christian; Christian doesn't necessarily equal Catholic.

        • i'm looking for an audiobook of 'game of thrones'. gather there's not much point clicking the link either way.

See my post in a forum - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/81974 - if you're interested in $10 free credit at koorong for posting 4 reviews (one voucher per month only). Worked for me.
