Wow. Such a simple thing to do, but looks like the links aren't proper. Given that Cashback tracking is tightly coupled with clicks, I dont think we can just modify the URL after clicking thru SB.

    Giving it a pass.

    • always better to be safe than sorry

edit: ugh… it was coincidence tracking email dated after i made CD Keys purchase, realised i also made purchase on 17th

but seems to use cookies, i've literally made purchases months after clicking through with CDKeys.com which shows the same terms

      CDKeys tracked

      ordered: 1st March 2024
      tracked: 2nd March 2024
      clicked-out: 17th December 2023

  • Bought about 4 hrs ago still not tracked yet. Anyone else with a better mileage?

    • Bought at 9:35am, still not tracked either

ShopBack did say it can take up to 2 days for tracking

      • +1

        @gotyourback
Any guarantee regarding cashback if we buy via shopback app browser and screen shot order confirmation from the shopback app.

Going by the comments and issues so far with lyca showing correct plan etc, i suspect some issues will happen with tracking

        • Hey mates, there's a 2 day window so it's likely it'll track today, but should you have any issues with tracking the best first port of call is a Missing Cashback claim, and let me know here and I'll flag with the team to take a look into tracking.

          • @gotyourback: Hey got your back could u please see my enquiry about my BWS cashback

            • @StarPlatinum: Hey mate, will get back to you ASAP. Busy this morning and catching up over the past week and weekend as well, but doing my best. Cheers for your patience.

          • @gotyourback: @gotyourback

Its been more than 2 days now still no track. I've submitted a missing cashback claim with the email from Lyca as confirmation. In the cashback form it asked for transaction amount I put in there $22.50. I hope that's correct and you're not expecting the cashback amount ($30) to be there instead?

            • @Eugklng: Hey mate, this should be the $30 rate from what I can tell, this should get fixed up for you when the claim goes through but keep me in the loop if you have trouble.

          • @gotyourback: I submitted a missing cashback claim and still haven't heard back to date. Can you please follow up with your team?

      • +2

        Mine hasn’t tracked either :(

        • Mine hasn’t tracked either :(

          • @mossie86: I didn't even get an email confirmation from Lyca (I verified my email and also took screenshots as well as downloaded invoice for manual claiming)

  • what is id process like? is a debit card ok? does it have roaming can you receive sms while overseas?

  • +2

Is it just me or is the xl plan $25 and the deal listed here is wrong.

  • fingers crossed i guess

  • +2

I just tried ordering one and got this error:
    "FRAUD SUSPICION"

    • +3

Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. There is a good chance cash back won’t be tracked. I couldn’t risk wasting $22.50 for a measly profit.

  • Just to make sure, is this definitely a prepaid service like Boost and Lebara? Or a postpaid service like Tangerine?

    • ……ideally you should read T&C if ever unsure about anything.

The first line says: TD Unlimited Plan XL (“The Offer”) is applicable for new customers (Sim+ plan purchase) with Auto-renewal enabled.

The words Auto-Renewal answers your query i.e. is pre paid.

  • +4

maybe ozbargained? cant get email verification code :(

  • same no otp

  • Mine hasn’t tracked yet

    • Bought at 10:23am - still not tracked

      • Mine still hasn’t tracked after 2 days. I’ve now put in a claim.

@gotyourback - appreciate if you could help too.

        • hey mate, commented on this below. Will update ASAP.

          • @gotyourback: Hi GYB, noting the advertised Wotif 14.5% cashback didn't seem to happen can you advise if there will be a similar one for either Wotif or Expedia in the near future?

            • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Hey mate, apologies for the confusion, I will say that this was a copy error and any further made in the advertised flash period will have the 14.5% Cashback rate applied. As for offers in the future, we do have offers planned for the future, I can't confirm the rate in advance but we have upsizes in the works for both Expedia and Wotif before the month is out.

              • @gotyourback: Thanks GYB. I avoided making a booking during the period as the app was showing only the standard 6%. Guess I should have rolled the dice.

Looking forward to another bite at the cherry before the end of the month.

  • Bought it yesterday and still not tracked :( I also got an error saying processing issue but received confirmation email and money taken out

  • Mine went through yesterday arvo, no email confirmation from Lyca or tracking from SB yet

    • +1

Same. Went through and no email.

  • +2

Adding to the list, mine hasn’t tracked either

  • Total disaster.

Would be good if a rep was available when deal was posted

    • +1

Did you play it safe? I held fire, this time looked to risky.

  • I wonder how many Lyca messages GYB will get his inbox on here when he wakes up tomorrow morning.

I’m waiting for the two days before i message gyb. I just hope we all get the $30 paid out without going around in circles with Shopback support. Don’t really want to waste time and put a claim in knowing that it will most probably be rejected and the back and forth messaging with sb support.

    • I wonder how many cancellations Lyca will have tomorrow morning, I'm going to try and cancel my order.

      • Good idea. Might do the same. Hope it’s as easy as cancelling a Boost order.

  • No tracking since ordered on Sat…

  • Has anyone order tracked I might cancel if no tracking

    • No tracking or email confirmation from Lyca yet

  • Not as easy to cancel as boost, was told I have to send an email, with the email they sent me(some didn't get this email) attached, a forn of ID, and first 6 digits and last 4 digits of payment card(I have none of that, Zip, randomly generated single use card.)
    Wtf.

I payed with Zip, think it may be easier to contact them and try and deal with it on that end.

Emailed the complaints email instead of the email they told me to use, stated didn't have all the information(payment card no.) and also stated I was not comfortable supplying ID when it is not necessary.

    • which option did you choose? All other inquiries doesn't work

      • First call last option dead end and they hung up,
2nd call, Mobile Internet or similar, then it gave me the option to talk to somone.
If you get it cancelled over phone, let us know plz.

  • Update - per the cashback click, it has now changed to no purchase found
@gotyourback - Appreciate if you could please give us an update here

    • Checking with the team for any known issues, but again, best port of call is a claim as linked in my comment above as this is the best way for the team to have visibility on any tracking issues. Will update on what the team says.

      • Is it possible to lodge a claim without a transaction screenshot?

      • What did your team come back with, any known issues?

      • Are there any updates here? Looks like nobody has had tracking yet, either directly or through missing cashback claims.

        • Yes no update

    • I received the same

  • +1

I just put in a manual claim and the status has been updated to calculating …

    • what did you put for the transaction amount? I put in $22.50 but @gotyourback said it should be $30. I think SB probably need to be more specific and call that cashback amount instead of transaction amount.

    • What did you put for the store order ID in your claim? My Lycamobile order confirmation has a Ref No, REDReference No and Order ID which are all different

      • @Charlieeee Heyya! you may use the Ref No. as the Order ID to submit your claim.

    • Done the same, however it says the store will confirm by 14 June! I certainly hope it's quicker than that.
      What a debacle…

  • I bought the $25 sim and mine tracked.

    • Crap …. So the $22.50 one doesn’t qualify?

    • Interesting. So , sb advertised the wrong sim.

  • didn't track…

  • All the banners on sb said 22.50.

I was just about to email Lyca to cancel the orders. I’ll hold off until there is confirmation that we will all get $30 cash back on our 22.50 orders

  • does lycamobile have VoLTE?

  • Would have been a great deal if it wasn't for tracking related issues and actually being able to find the plan when you click through ShopBack.

I was monitoring this deal in the hopes of seeing multiple people confirm that their cashback tracked but yeah it seems like a dumpster fire and a headache of a situation so I'm kinda glad I didn't participate… There was a part of me that was hoping this would become the new Boost Mobile (in the way of ongoing sim profit cashbacks) but oh well..

  • still not track yet. purchase late at about 10:30pm

  • So instead of a $7.50 profit, this is looking like a $22.50 loss!!!

Will SB still honour the Cashback if Lyca doesn’t play ball?

I have a feeling Lyca will say that it is only applicable for the $25 plan - since that’s the only one that has tracked for someone.

If that is the case, then clearly SB made a mistake since all the banners plus the click through link is for the $22.50 plan

  • Same as everyone else, mine’s not tracked by SB yet.

  • I put a claim in yesterday and it’s tracking now. I had purchased the $22.50 plan.

    • Is it tracking $30 or just says “calculating”?

      • i submitted mine this morning and it says calculating.

SB should still honour this cashback based on past mistakes/deals where similar things happened.

      • Calculating

        • That’s not really tracking then.

That is an automated response by their system - as soon as you lodge a claim it will automatically put it as “calculating” — probably designed to make you think the claim has been successful.

I’ve had stuff that had “calculating” as soon as I’ve lodged a claim and never changed - remained that way perpetually and never paid Cashback

On the other hand I’ve had claims where it goes to “calculating” and then someone investigates successfully and that adds the tracking with correct Cashback amount - and I end up with 2 items - the one added with the correct Cashback amount and the “calculating” one that never changes.

          • @proudwanderer: If you try this - say you “clicked” on a Cashback - say to Amazon - but never proceeded to purchase anything.

Say you now go into your clicked list and lodge a claim on this item that you never purchased anything — you will also see that it will appear immediately and show as “calculating”

My point is - the system is programmed to show something as soon as lodge a claim - even non transactions — of course you will never get paid Cashback for a non transaction. The “calculating” will just remain there forever.

          • @proudwanderer: How long should I wait for this "calculating" before cancelling?

            • +5

@mossie86: I don’t know. From past experience that “calculating” one is system generated and may never go away.

If the tracking is approved - the “calculating” one won’t change

Instead you’ll see a new line item that a human would add to your list - where it will show the $30 tracked Cashback.

That’s why the “calculating” one means nothing as it is an automatic system generated item - and does not mean it is tracked at all.

If you want to play it safe - you may need to cancel the order if you don’t want to risk losing $22.50

But it seems others have had to jump through hoops to get a refund.

See my comments below - IMO ShopBack needs to honour the Cashback regardless whether or not Lycamobile plays ball or not.

Clearly ShopBack advertised the deal - so they need to own up to it.

  • No issue of buying the sim card but Shopback doesn't tracked, as many has mentioned, it is too much risk for this.

  • No tracking yet

  • +4

    My SIM arrived today
    But no tracking yet

    • same, sim arrived yesterday, but still not tracked today. i don't have a good feeling about this.

  • +1

Ordered an eSIM, didn't receive any order confirmation or activation emails. Also it didn't track on ShopBack.

I've emailed LycaMobile requesting for a refund. I do anticipate they might be difficult based on other people's comments here. I won't hesitate to take it to the telco ombudsman.

    • Same.

Ordered eSIM. No tracking. No eSIM either

  • FYI, after a mishap with activating my eSIM and the QR not working, it seems Lyca Mobile is not able to resend new QR codes for eSIM activation, and instead have to refund the full amount. So keep that in mind!

I went through this process and they gave me a wait time of around 5 - 8 business days to receive a full refund of AUD$22.50. I think its safer to pull out and wait for Boost cashbacks to return.

  • +7

IMO - ShopBack needs to honour these cashbacks. They were the ones who advertised it - there were banners, plus the link directly from their website pointing to the $22.50 plan.

If Lycamobile refuses to pay - well that's a problem ShopBack needs to deal with.

Why should customers be out of pocket and/or have to go through refunds or chargebacks to get their money back due to ShopBack's mistake and/or problematic relationship with Lycamobile?

    • +5

Here and Here are the banners.

      • -1

Does the order confirmation say XL plan though? Because on the website the 100gb plan was never called the XL plan.

        • My email confirmation for the $22.50 100gb refers to it as the XL plan.

        • +2

Yes it does, just scroll a bit down further

          https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/ucustomer/td-unlimited-plan…

TD Unlimited Plan XL (“The Offer”) is applicable for new customers (Sim+ plan purchase) with Auto-renewal enabled.

ShopBack should really honour this as all banners were pointing to the $45 plan discounting to $22.50 and only the plan that I linked above matches

          • +1

            @BargainsGrabber: Should? - Yes

Will? - That remains to be seen.

My bet is that Lyca isn’t playing ball. They’re probably claiming the $22.50 plan doesn’t qualify.

Therefore, ShopBack made a mistake in their advertising or Lyca gave them the wrong information.

So if SB honours this it will likely be out of their own pockets - and who knows if they are willing to do that or not. We may have to accept a $22.50 “loss”.

Congratulations to those Ozbargainers who made the decision not to attempt this as it was too much of a risk

  • +3

At @gotyourback, there's substantial hassle and confusion here.

To get our backs, could you give some assurance if we followed the steps we'd receive the cashback, or even simply tell us who's responsible for the confusion?

I believe that'd put many of our minds at ease rather than leaving a sour taste in our mouth towards both SB and Lyca.

  • +1

Tracking has been a mess but at least it is showing at calculating… after I put through a manual missing tracking.

On the sim, there is no indication on when it needs to be activated by. Is it similar to the 30days from purchase like boost? Can SB please clarify? Thanks.

  • No response to my email to Lyca to cancel, Sim has arrived, only have calculating after submitting missing cashback.

  • @gotyourback

mine is showing as " calculating " after reporting a missing cashback

    any update please?

  • My Lyca sim cannot receive and making call in my phone..so annoying

    • +4

It may not be making or receiving any calls, but they have definitely received your $22.50 and made a profit!!

  • i submitted a claim today but don't have much faith and im considering cancelling it. has anyone's missing claim changed to tracked yet? dont we need to activate these within 30 days of placing the order?

    • +2

      Still “calculating”

@gotyourback - Can you provide some clarity?

Would you agree that regardless whether Lyca pays up or not, SB needs to pay the Cashback if we have followed all steps as required?

My suspicion is that it was not applicable for the $22.50 plan. If that were the case, it is either an advertising mistake by SB or miscommunication from Lyca to SB as to which plan was applicable.

Either way, it’s not our fault - we followed the instructions and purchased the plan that was advertised.
