Ever since they had the peanut shortage they stopped using Australia nuts so they made it incredibly hard to find. Used to be at the front right under the brand

I always stock up when Mayver's & Simply Nuts smooth peanut butter are half price at Coleworths, but was almost running out so I bought 4 jars of Simply Nuts from Woolies about a week ago for 40% off. Not as good as they used to be. Very runny and oily now. Will stick with Mayver's from now on whenever they go on special. Thanks, OP.
Did you mix it up from the bottom? These pure nut butters need a good dip to the bottom of the jar at the start
Yeah did, but still more watery than it used to be. Have been buying Simply Nuts for years and this last batch has been the worst I've ever bought so far. Someone mentioned above that Mayver's aren't using Australian nuts anymore due to peanut shortage, so this might be the cause for the change of quality for Simply Nuts too.
My last batch from woolies 50% off was a bit runny. Would the origin of the peanuts really be the cause? How?
@churlish: I don't think the origin of the peanuts would be the cause if the issue per se, but if the said nut shortage is true, then that might be the cause of the runny batches since importing the nuts would increase the cost of making the peanut butter. Just an assumption.

How is Dark roasted crunchy compared to normal crunchy one? I have always loved the normal one but it's not on offer now.
Dark roasted is far superior. I can't eat any other peanut butter now. It's just a much richer and better flavour

I ran out of Mayver's ages ago, and managed to get some half price Pic's instead. But now I'm on my last jar so this is very welcome.

Interesting that it's only the dark roasted variety (which is the best TBH).
Previous sales have encompassed all varieties. I am partial to the Smunchy 5 Seeds as well, so a bit disappointed it's not half price as well.
