Oh boy. I hope nobody is expecting a decent image with this kind of screen size. I'd recommend a TCL over any house-brand TV any day of the week if your budget is tight.

    • +4

Yep, really poor grey uniformity, banding and blooming.

    • +4

But for the price of TCL you can get two of these making it 150”.

      • +12

You need 4 of these to make a 150in screen

        • +12

For the price of two TCL you can 4 of these making it 150”.

          • +1

@nightelves: For the price of 1 TCL you could get two of these and make a 135" screen in a 32:9 aspect ratio

      • Any bargain of tcl?

    • On the other hand, it's $849. But yeah, "Bauhn" has to be one of the worst brands you'll see around.

Will this fit in a 3.0m x 2.8m 3.0m room with a couch and sound bar? Asking for a friend.

    • +5

Using math this is 75 inches which converts to 190.5cm so it will fit.

      • +1

that's the diagonal. length will be less than that around 170cm

    • +3

Aldi low spec TV's they don't even say if it's USB 2.0 or higher just not worth the disappointment you'll have.

      • +3

Why would you need USB 3 on a TV?

        • Uncompressed 4k video files?

    • +1

It will fit but viewing distance won't be comfortable

  • +2

Considering Aldi's latest track record on electronic recalls, not sure I'd trust them at all anymore.

    Good shit different.

I got the Bauhn 70" WebOS tele last year from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/811296

Have been very happy with it as a basic TV.

Not sure if its worth an extra $220 for an extra 5", but i guess some blokes would pay a lot more than that for that kind of size extension.

    • +1

I've only got a wee little 50 incher.

      • +6

        What size is your TV?

        • +2

          Bit of a personal question.

  • -3

    Eww 60hz

    • +6

What video content are you watching above 60fps?

Or even, what video content are you watching above 30fps?

Do you really need all your videos interpolated to be like a soap opera?

      • +3

Exactly. I don’t think many people know why they need 120hz. Unless you’re gaming, it’s absolutely pointless.

        • +1

As someone who played Counter Strike 1.x in the 2000s on an Intel iGPU and later a second hand Voodoo GPU from a computer market, doing all I could with lower res custom models and every possible config file tweak to get even close to the dream of 60fps…I still say 60fps is more than enough for gaming.

  • is it still full of lag and bad sound

  • +3

it's massive and will be the most noticeable piece of and probably most used appliance/furniture in your house. wouldn't you rather pay an extra 700 or so for a TCL?

    • -1

You definitely should, these Bauhn TVs are trash

  • Accessories Included 2 x AA Activ Energy Batteries, User Manual, Quick Start Guide & Warranty Certificate
So it doesn't come with a remote?

    • Look at me. I'm the captain remote now.

Speaking from persoanl experience(in laws bought the 65" version) the picture qaulity is terrible and it failed within18 months. Save your money and pay more for something else. Cannot say a good thing about this brand of tv.

    • Did they return it for a warranty claim?

    • I've had a 65" Aldi tv for years and hasn't missed a beat. Yes out of the box the picture settings weren't quite right, but I spent 2 minutes adjusting it and now it's fine.

      • Press F to doubt

My mother got an Aldi TV for my brother, aside from the bad picture quality, shitful tinny sound, dog slow channel changes it was great. For some reason he decided to give it away last year and buy a proper one.

  • +2

    Good wife tv

I got a EKO 75” from Big W over a year ago and my standards must be low because I’m very happy with it. I think I’ve seen a single bright green pixel (probably was there new) but I’ve been marvelling at the so-called $4000 bargains in this price point.

Combined with a Chromecast with Google TV (never activated webOS Hub though it should be nice enough to use now) on bargains it’s perfectly acceptable with my bargain basement NBN.

This one should be pretty similar because Ayonz right? (I don’t need another, I won’t be buying. I also have a 2016-era 55” with early Tizen still doing fine.)

    not 120hz lame

  • This is the kind of quality we've all been looking for.

I bought the $299 40" last weekend and happy with it. Web OS aka LG Smart TV is surprisingly good. I'm really just using it to take the output from my Yamaha receiver, so can't speak too much to the TV side. For those interested, it can do 4K+HDR, HDMI CEC&ARC (on HDMI2), has optical out to the receiver, and choice of Ethernet or wifi.

May not have the picture quality of higher end brands, but it is still a big improvement to what it replaced.

    • Makes perfect sense for these kind of screen sizes. The bigger ones fall over pretty quickly above 40/42".
