Toshiba 55" X9900MP OLED 4k TV $1399 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys eBay

MARSAVE

Didn't even know Toshiba made OLED TVs. Questionable quality perhaps, but the price is itching my fingers. Although anything will be better than my current 50" HD TV from verge side collection 6 years ago.

Googling the model revealed a measly 1k results with no proper reviews, Sony's equally convoluted TV model number gave 60k results as a reference. So I have no choice but to rely on the power of OzBargain voting system to see if this is ultimately a good deal before pulling the trigger or have buyers remorse as it gets sold out.

Didn't even know Toshiba made OLED TVs

Toshiba TVs are made by Hisense.

As soon as I saw that the OS was VIDAA U6, I thought this was the case.

      • Ahh balls.
I hoped it was an oldschool 'not smart' tv.
        Not my luck.

        • Same, I plan on using this as a dumb tv with my NVIDIA shield.

          • @LurkingLurker: My ACER tv is still the best ive ever owned, function wise. Even though its only 720p. Still going strong since 2005.

            • @MasterScythe: Yeah, I'd say the same if I weren't watching my TV 4-5m away. Some of the texts are so blurry even with my glasses on I end up walking up to the TV just to read the scoreboards.

        • Why is this a problem if you have a firestick?

I found a few foreign reviews about a similar model on Youtube. If you search Toshiba X9900LS it should come up but I couldn't find anything on this specific model that I assume is specific to our region.

    • Many thanks! Really juggling between this or just wait it out for other OLEDs to get cheaper or a 65" C845.

      • I have a G3 and personally I wouldn’t get anything that isn’t OLED but I am biased! I’m sure the C845 is a great tv for most people

If only we stock panasonic OLEDs, would be great competition against Sony and such.

We did, once upon a time. Unfortunately they got out-competed by Samsung/Sony/LG for the top tier, and Hisense/TCL for the mid tier.

      • Shame! Recently their last few top end one was almost as good as Sony.

    • I heard TCL is planning to release OLEDs at a very competitive price next year, maybe I'll wait till then

I believe the majority of ozbargain are waiting for you to buy then get your feedback.

  • Have been wondering about this tv. Can't find a single thing about it.

  • $1399 for this vs $1970 for Samsung S95C 55 vs $1880 for the S90C 55.

55 A80l sony refurb is $1849 on eBay plus.
