      • Thanks! Just bought but didn't see anywhere to tick 'auto-renew'?

        • As part of this offer, auto-renew is automatically turned on.
Can be turned off in your account.

    • +1

Its a 28 day plan. You just don't renew it if you don't want it.
Either by turning auto-renew off - which some people think will mean they will try to claw the discount back - or you CAN leave auto-renew on and select to pay by voucher or BPay and then just not pay (which I do to keep a number active for a year and its totally fine and always works and means you have left the auto-renew on so they can't claw your $25 back (which they can't anyway as you deleted your payment details and they aren't going to do that anyway). The point is IF you do choose to make a BPay or voucher payment at a later date it then auto-renews. I do this to keep a number I want to keep active.
Theres nothing anywhere in any T&Cs saying that they will claw back the $25 if you don't renew X many times for X many months - I think people are reading far too much into it.
Either its genuine to make numbers up before end of year, or they made a mistake not telling SB to lower the cashback - but I can't see this ever being a con to catch people who don't renew a made up number of times!

      • Just bought but didn't see anywhere to tick 'auto-renew'?

        • After activation the default was usually auto-renew on, so you can change it later when you get the SIM. BPay was the easy option as mentioned

  • Took the risk and bought

last time amaysim did not even track for me , with cashrewards

not going to risk this with shopback …

    • Has always tracked for me on SB and CR.

    • yep it happened to me - and I have stayed away from amaysim since then.
      Too risky.

  • +1

It says Cashback not eligible if…..

Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform.

I can’t find the promo code MAPR anywhere on SB.

I doubt this cash back will be honoured.

    • No promo code is entered to purchase…
It is automatically applied in purchase, via link provided by SB

      • It’s auto entered by Amaysim to get 50% discount. This isn’t listed in SB. If they do not honour the cashback, you really have no leg to stand on since the order will show that a code was used to purchase.

        • auto entered discount codes are common practice in so many Amaysim Deals here.

Don't know if SB refused cashback from link to Amaysim they provided.

          • @INFIDEL: But sometimes, cashbacks aren’t updated on time and 50% discount overlap with the old cashback rates. With CR it seems to be no issues. But SB can’t be trusted. I wouldn’t be surprised the $28 cashback was intended to be used for the $40 purchase.

            • @TomGum: Previous comments that SB honoured old cashback rates.

Obviously…"$28 cashback was intended to be used for the $40 purchase."
              We will see… In 75d!!

As a heads up. This triggered me to check a previous Amsysim/Cashrewards promo cashback from Feb. I saw it hadn't tracked. I see that this is consistent with some other feedback for Amsysim.

Negging this deal due to evidence of concerns of validity of deal, and current lack of confirmation.

      • you missed the neg button

        • The strategy is to neg later to avoid being revoked.

          • @Neoika: if it is not a valid neg it will be revoked anyway.

The neg justification they provided is valid imo

            • @CodeXD: Incidentally had upvoted already, then however on revoking it's not possible to neg

"You have already voted on this deal. Your vote was subsequently revoked."

  • +4

Risky business. Was about to buy then checked the lyca thread. Won’t bite until sb has at least done something about that one.

  • +3

The devil is in the detail, so its a hard no from me .

  • Hmmm… been an hour now and still not tracked.

    • As per above my previous Amsysim purchase with cashrewards did not track and many others report that their Amsysim purchases did not track.

I'm actually interested- has anyone had their purchase track?

      • If it hasn’t been tracked for you in the past, contact support and give them all the details (date, invoice number etc.) applicable to your purchase rationalising your case. I am certain their team will add the relevant credit to your account if your evidence matches their criteria’s.

    • SB states: tracks in 2 days.

  • Buy and activate it, use it for less than 28 days and then port to a different provider. Bank the $10 profit in 75 days, by doing this you don’t have to worry about the myth that is “turning the auto renew off may not lead to cashback”. If your use case is to port out before the first 28 days then auto renew or whatever the feature the above chat pollution is referring to will not be applicable because you will port out before the end of your billing cycle (28 days).

Just remember to order a physical SIM card as t&c doesn’t state that cash back is applicable to an e-sim connection. Once you activate the physical sim then convert it to an e-sim if need be either through the app or by calling support. Hope this brings clarity!

  • How long can you wait before activating, I remember boost have 30 days to activate.

  • should have read the comments before making the purchase.
Guess there's no way to cancel the order and hope SB will honor it.
Just wondering why is this post still up if it's not confirmed?

    • +1

SB Rep has been asked to confirm. But has been absent for a few attractive alcohol Deals in last week.

      Doesn't give confidence.
But I bought & took screenshots.

Interesting comment about previous Amaysim cashback

Complain if order doesn't track within the stated 2 days.
Complain if cashback doesn't arrive within stated 75 days.

ShopBack lays off 24 per cent of employee headcount, cuts 195 roles

Well that may explain the lack of response from Rep😜

And different approach to tracking (use of "calculating" rather than "tracking", & giving "Online Bonus" instead).

        • +2

What on earth were 900 people doing in the first place? Crazy.

          • +1

@ezzaf: 900 staff in world wide operation based in Singapore.

It takes staff a lot of time to set up offers with merchants, check offer is what merchant approved, promote offers to public, & deal with cashback & complaints. Promote the business to merchants. And follow up referral payments from merchants.

Staff number increased after rapid expansion (including here). Now needs to cut costs, so financial benefits to staff reduced, then sacking.

            • @INFIDEL: Yep.

People would've left other jobs to join ShopBack. Now they have to pay with major disruptions to their life due to poor management and planning by the CEO and executive team.

Notice how he keeps his job while the others suffer with a layoff even though it was his bad decisions at play? He said as much.

Businesses need to be penalised more for poor planning. Layoffs result in suicide, homelessness, family breakdown and displacement for many.

              • @arcticmonkey: CEO's usually get a large bonus for handling downsizing. It's a difficult task. Most don't like doing it.

Not that all higher management don't care about their employees.

One of my corporate clients had to lay off 600+ staff in a State Govt Department - a political decision by the Government.
It was hell for him. He didn't want the job. His health suffered. Was ostracised by other workers. That's why I was called in to support him.

He got through it. But staff lost out. He was given 6 months off & a pay rise. He was a genuine nice guy, otherwise I wouldn't have supported him.

                • @INFIDEL: It's more so the tech industry where I've seen young, arrogant and commonly privileged executives who overhire due to poor forward planning and then disrupt the workers lives when investors pull them up on it.

These guys are often inexperienced in the real world and live in the moment. Seeing new people enter their business gets them excited like they're acquiring a shiny new toy.

When they aren't hitting their targets, they can ruin people's lives rather than thinking things through better. They keep their job despite their bad decisions while others are disposed of.

I can't speak to government but I can speak to inexperienced and incompetent ego driven tech founders.

                  • @arcticmonkey: In Government Departments, unless there is a change of Government - redundancy & layoffs can't easily be stopped.

In the State operation of a multinational, a sales rep sought my help. He complained about the State Manager.
I wouldn't listen to gossip, so got him to act on the problem - with my support. Within 3 weeks, head office agreed with his assessment of the business & his ideas for change, sacked the State Manager & appointed him.

But he was told to lay off some staff to cut costs. As a business consultant, helped him develop new ideas which made a lot of profit worldwide for the business. A better approach. That stopped staff layoffs.

But as you say, it depends a lot on the type of person at the top, & the objectives & expectations placed on them. That is down to those who appointed the CEO. So the problem rarely rests just with the CEO.

Rapid expansion is often a warning a business may fail. Easy to hire, without considering if there is the demand to support the workforce. And the cost of those workers, beyond their basic salary. Laying off workers is costly to the business.

Artists I know will buy a new instrument or throw lavish parties without the means to fund the extravagance. Of course they will not listen to good advice, seeing it as personal criticism & failure to believe in their "dream". So it can be with leaders in business, especially startups.

I would never work with or support businesses where I didn't believe they were doing the right thing by their staff. So lack personal knowledge of your examples.

I believed in building up people & businesses rather than laying off staff. Sacking a worker is something I hated. Established & ran a social enterprise employing & training people in need. And ran free food services.
Profits all went into developing the local community.

[CR sought my help long ago. So got to know a bit about cashback business & it's issues.]

        • 195 roles for the Lyca deal and the next 195 roles for this deal?

      • It needs to lay off another 24% to lift this cashback offer.

        • Laying off a CEO who has made the bad decisions would be karma and it would likely save hundreds of jobs.

  • It's a no for me after Lyca debacle with SB.

  • +2

To ensure eligibility, purchase between March 15th and April 16th, 2024, and activate by April 30th as per T&C.

  • -3

Bought it and lost my money. it's not tracking. SCAM

    • Not all merchants track fast!
SB states: tracks in 2 days.

    • is this your first time using shopback or something?

    • It tracked. $28 pending on $18 purchase.

  • +6

I have had this "profit cashback" from Amaysim honored twice by shopback the latest being May last year although it didn't track for a week.
I had to report the missing cashback and it showed up in two stages.
I personally don't think it's Scam. However, it's worth noting that cashback from Amaysim have not been pretty smooth recently. I bought sim card twice in the last four months through Cashrewards and in both occasions it didn't initially track which was later fixed after I reported the missing cashback. It didn't get approved even after 75 days or so and I had to lodge a complain. Got approved after a week or so.
Overall, last year or so haven't been great for those who used to get a decent cashback in Amaysim. But this particular one I guess is worth taking a risk. I remember same thing happened in 2021 and everyone's cashback got honored if I am not wrong.

  • +1

Took the risk and bought too. Will see how it goes.

  • +6

My purchase from last night 22:52 was tracked 04:41 this morning. However only $10.50

    Not exactly as per T&C’s.

    • Same as mine. Only $10.50 cash back

    • Same as mine with $10.5 tracked, not as description cashback $28 as listed by Amaysim. Anyone knew the reason?

  • +10

    WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Tracked at $10.50 cashback, not $28.

    However, email says:

    Order no: 4962239
    Store: amaysim Mobile
    Date: 2024-04-02 $10.50

The Cashback amount is accurate at the time of this email.
But because things can change – when the store confirms the final Cashback amount, we’ll also let you know your final Cashback amount.

    • EDIT / WALKBACK:

I cannot edit the above but bge it known that my Cashback is now showing $28 as it is for others. I hope it has been corrected for everyone…

  • +1

    Just tracked $10.50

    ???

    • Same here

  • Mine just tracked too $10.50

Very strange…now have to figure out how to move this forward to get the right cashback…since I don't think the order can be cancelled

  • Same - tracked at $10.50 for the 80Gb, still showing $28 as the amount in Shopback

  • +1

Tracked at $10.50 for the 120GB plan too, but at least I got a nice new number

    • I mistakenly paid $30 for a "new" number. :( oops didnt look when doing this at 1am

  • +2

    looks like we got ozbargained…:(

    • sb-bargained.

    • that is not how you use ozbargained lol

      • OzLoopholes

  • +1

$10.50 tracked wtf clearly said $28

    • +1

      Same, where’s the rep??

        • The silver-lining with the 24% employee lay-off is that they likely laid-off one (or more) employees responsible for updating / picking-up errors with their cashback rates (eg. with this Amaysim deal). Whether they honour any of the cashback disputes is another question….

          • @Empharand: How is it a 'silver lining' that so many people lost their livelihoods so you can potentially get a few $ cashback?

            Disgraceful comment.

            • @arcticmonkey: I think you misunderstood my comment… I'm saying SB likely got rid of the very people responsible for updating Cashback rates and it came back to bite them (SB)

  • +2

Tracked at $10.50 for me as well. Email also states
“The Cashback amount is accurate at the time of this email.
But because things can change – when the store confirms the final Cashback amount, we’ll also let you know your final Cashback amount.”

I think we could still raise a dispute with SB as they still show $28 cash back on their site and not $10.50 and get them to fix this.

  • +2

I'm glad I didn't go for this seems much more headache dealing with sb than $10's worth…

  • +2

    ONLY $10.5 tracked.

  • tracked at $10.50 here too

  • +2

    Tracked at $10.50

  • All Shopback tracking usually occurs at around 4:00 AM. Their batch runs at that time I suppose.
Shopback has this weird thing about not updating the offerings of the merchant as they appear on the merchant's website.
Eg: Shopback would still show a plan which is not available at Amaysim's website.

  • 13 days left

When you see a deal like this and this long, you know it's too good to be true.

  • +1

    $10.5 tracked…

  • keep on getting "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site." this offer is too risky just like Lyca mobile still hasnt changed status to tracked

    • You'd be mad to purchase it at the moment, based on all the comments above.

  • $10.50 too, raised a ticket, will see how it goes.

But will definitely avoid SB next time after Lyca and amaysim

  • their customer service is terrible , it took me 3 days to transfer my number over

  • +1

Just clicked on link and Cashback says “This store is temporarily unavailable for Cashback”
    Anyone else?

    • +1

      Yes, same-same.

  • +4

I've just asked Amaysim for a refund which was very easy to do. I did not want to go through the hassle of getting this sorted out with Shopback.

  • -1

    Thanks OP!

  • -1

Shopback better payout all my cashback before they go bankrupt….

  • I thought this would happen. I held off. There was no fanfare about it on the website, upsized cashback, Notification, email, etc. Good luck, trying to get the 35 cash back. I don’t fancy your chances.

At least with the Lyca mobile deal, there was fanfare about it on the website on the banner, upsized cashback, flash sale, deals email, etc. I’ll have screenshots.
    those should get approved regardless.

  • +2

Really wish GYB would show up and give us the update - bot sure whether to cancel with Amasysim of not.
No changes on Shopback's site - still shows $28 cashback for the $18 SIM

    • +3

Likely Rep was one of those sacked - hasn't responded for over a week!

SB now shows “This store is temporarily unavailable for Cashback” & Deal marked as Expired!

      • +2

Potentially as the new comments from the store rep sound like generic replies that are asking users to submit the claim via the app

        • +3

Right - GYB usually says "hey mates etc" - could be them, never know Really hope GYB is still here actually. Was always helpful and ironed out lots of problems
Anyhow, hopefully somebody can give us some kind of update on this

          • +2

@King Tightarse: Rep did reply with "mate" in Lyca Mobile

            • +1

@INFIDEL: Hey you are right, maybe doing some 'quiet quitting' in support of the workmates ¯_(ツ)_/¯?

              • +1

@King Tightarse: Or Rep has been replaced by AI?
Bit like call centres learning the local lingo of country they're calling… G'day mate!

          • @King Tightarse: It sounds to me like they're trying to mimic his style but I'm not convinced the original GYB is still around.

It's possible he could just be OOO or the mass layoffs have caused some disruption.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if SB management have laid off one of their most valuable workers and kept some dead weight. Happens often during tech layoffs.

  • +3

Ok so cashback initially tracked $10.5 this morning.
After a couple of hours now showing $28 tracked.
