Seems like also $10 profit on the 120GB plan too

    • +3

Are you going to risk it though? $10 cashback doesn't sound right.

      • What risk?

        • +10

Lots of things in life are a risk but in this situation I'm referring to the $10 cashback in this post.

          • +6

            @WatchNerd: Have a + for being vigilant 👍

      • +6

I’ve risked it for Lyca and that kinda backed fired. Not too sure if I wanna risk this if I’m not sponsored haha

        • Can you elaborate more on the Lyca deal? How did it back fire?

          • +4

@wildstone: ShopBack advertised the deal for the $22.50 SIM but not a single purchase was tracked except for someone’s order which was for a different plan

        • +3

Lyca purchase didn't track for me either. Had to fill missing cashback.

      • +3

I'm holding fire until we have more clarity.

        • +2

Yep I was about to grab this but too risky.

    • +4

I’ve risked it again for the 120GB plan, will report back once tracked
I definitely need to set up a funding page for these testings lol

  • +20

    "sum only plan"
    For New Zealand?

    • +1

Sounds like "The Rock" promoting amaysim

    • Sim*

  • +3

when u need to activate sim ?

    • +1

Would like to know this as well. Also, once activated, is there a minimum period you need to stay on Amaysim to qualify for the cashback? I noticed Shopback T&C states "redeemable in 75 days" - so does that mean you need to renew the 28-day plan for at least 2 more months to qualify?

      • +1

no it means the cashback ($28) will be redeemable in 75days

    • +1

I'm guessing within 30 days, like the other deals.

      • Yes 30 days listed in the notes

  • +1

50gb for 15bux plus 35bux cashback wot, do my eyes deceive me?

    • +1

That’s data only plan for cash back. Couldn’t find it on the amaysim website

    • 50GB DOP is for $40

  • Is this real life?

    • +4

      I think it's just fantasy..

The cashback rates are referencing old plans, so gonna need Shopback to confirm these deals

  • One cashback per SB account?

    • You can usually do as many as you want so long as you click through from Shopabck each time. Not saying this is definitely going to work out this time though as some think the Shopback rates are for last month.
Flip side, Shopback usually honor the rates up until the time that they are updated to the correct ones so its hard to guess.

      • SB Amaysim page says "Shopback
amaysim Mobile Voucher & Coupons for April 2024
        Up to $35 Cashback"

Looks like it is up to date for me.

  • +3

When do we need to activate?

  • 80GB ✓

  • Pretty sure this is wrong.

    • Hhhmmm hope @gotyourback can confirm

    • What makes you say that? I can only find one 80GB Mobile SIM Plan on amaysim website and it is $18.

      • +2

Can't remember ever seeing $10 cashback on 28 day sims before. Smells a bit off.

  • +3

Thats excellent. Something to churn to from boost. Hope these deals continue every month like boost!

  • +4

Would deffo take screenshot of cashback rates for this one

  • -1

This seems risky. The terms and conditions do NOT work when you click on them. Do you need to be a new customer at all?

  • +10

took the plunge and bought the sim already for $18. will let you know when SB tracked!

    • Likewise, I'll go you shotgun on the feedback.

  • Just purchased the 80GB plan. Hopefully will get the cashback.

  • no terms and conditions :S

  • +7

It appears for terms and conditions of the Amaysim special price promotion you will need to click on "T&Cs apply" link within plan info page. On the 120GB Offer T&C pdf it states "Promotion Period Purchase between 9.00am (AEDT) on 20 March 2024 to 11.59pm (AEST) on 16 April 2024 and activate by 30 April 2024"

Looking in the T&C's further it says

    Eligible Customers - Customers who:
    * enter an approved payment method when prompted, and
    * who keep Auto renew switched on
are eligible for the Promotion Benefits.

So in effect its not $10 profit, but $40 loss (being auto charged next $50 renewal).

    • Yeh definitely risky, good chance they'll deny cashback for this…

      • +1

Cashback is not the problem ($35), being charged the full amount i.e. $50 for failing T&C's is.

        • unless the T&Cs say you have to stay on for over 2 months(which it doesn't say) , to keep the auto renew on is not an issue … using Paypal and link to a zero balance prepaid card..

          • @mountaineer: Agree. With Amaysim you can also delete your card and leave Auto Renew switched on. Select Bpay/voucher topup and then just not pay by BPay or voucher for any future renewals.

    • But according to previous deal, the 80GB 28-Day SIM can be activated on 365 days PAYG plan?

      • +1

The problem is being charged $50 instead of promo price of $50 for failing Amaysim's T&C's

    • so u won't get the cash back if you did not renew? or can you just port before the next billing cycle? asking for a friend

      • -1

You will probably get the cashback from Shopback of $35. Thats not the problem. Its what Amaysim will charge you, i.e. $50 for initial purchase for failing T&C's OR $50 for next renewal for keeping Auto Renewal on to comply with T&C's

        • Never heard of that happening

            • @bigmudcake: This deal is for 80gb sim, your link is 120gb

              • @CodeXD: According to the shopback rates, the deal also includes $35 cachback for the "$50 Unlimited 120GB 28 day Offer" which has a promo price of $25 which some people are also purchasing in this current deal.

                • @bigmudcake: There is no lock in contract for any amaysim plan.

Its what Amaysim will charge you, i.e. $50 for initial purchase for failing T&C's OR $50 for next renewal for keeping Auto Renewal on to comply with T&C's

Are you saying they will clawback the initial promotion amount?

                  • +1

@CodeXD: Not sure if they would, but legally they have every right to if you turn auto renewal off.
They state "who keep Auto renew switched on" which means to me "on" after purchase as well.

            • +5

              @bigmudcake: You read it wrong.

The auto-renew clause is to do with the fact that you get a reduced fee for first renewal.

The promotion benefit is separate box underneath

Eligible Customers will receive the offer below for their Eligible Plan:
              • $25 off first renewal on the $50 UNLIMITED 120GB. Ongoing is $50
              for 120GB/28 days.

You can turn off auto-renew and it's fine. It just means you don't get the reduced price first renewal. The price won't change and they won't claw anything back.

              • -1

                @fremeer:

It just means you don't get the reduced price first renewal

Most telcos consider the first recharge is in this first purchase.

What people have done in the past is change payment method to bpay with auto renew still on. Worked for me.

  • +3

    Does esim count?

    • Yes, that is the impression I got however the eSim option is activated immediately where as the Sim can be activated later (within 30 days I would presume for cashback as per usual.)

  • +1

Oo I was waiting for.a boost one but this will do

  • +2

Purchased the 120GB Plan ($35 Cashback on $25 plan) and have taken copious amounts of screenshots via PC and their app showing the cashback and plan details (with timestamp before and after my order).

    Lets see what happens…

    • +1

As per T&C's you agreed to when buying that plan it states

      Eligible Customers - Customers who:
      * enter an approved payment method when prompted, and
      * who keep Auto renew switched on
are eligible for the Promotion Benefits.
https://www.amaysim.com.au/content/dam/amaysim/documents/ter… which was in the plan info page. You should get your $35 cashback. The issue is what Amaysim will charge you in relation to the "promotional price" for not sticking to the T&C's of that price promotion.

So you need to keep Auto Renew on and have a valid payment method to keep the $25 discount for the purchase. Cashback will not be the issue here.

      • With Amaysim you can keep Auto Renew on and have a valid payment method (such as BPay or voucher).
It doesn't say anything about you need to actually make X many further payments for X months.

They 100% allow you to keep Auto Renew on and NOT actually make a BPay or voucher payment. You still remain active and connected for a year and can receive calls and texts. And if at any point you do make a BPay or voucher payment then it starts your plan again IF you want. I do it to keep a number active for a year each time.
The T&C's don't state anything about committing to further months, and if you delete your card details after you activate it then how would they even try charging the $25 discount back?

  • Did anyone's purchase tracked in SB yet?

    • Tracked but incorrect amount $10.50 cashback.

  • +6

I got this yesterday but still hasn't tracked

    • +10

And members are negging me above for suggesting it might be risky.

      • +5

Upvoted you. SB didn't even respond to Lyca's fiasco.

      • Didn't track even after 2 days so reporting missing cashback

  • Do you have to be a new Amaysim customer?

    • +1

Its always just new SIM/account. Just to be sure I use a fresh email

      • Do they cross check name and address?

        • +1

The notes are quite open. Just new sign up or customers getting a new service (SIM)

  • Webpage not available in shopback app

  • +1

SB didn't update rates on time. It may be honored.

    • Last time when amaysim did the half price deal and ShopBack forgot to update the rates, the rep confirmed that they’d honour the previous rates

      • Here

Not sure that SB will also be that good now.

  • If I port in a number, canI be able to change to Pay as you go plan at later time?

  • Seems like SB mobile deals have subpar standards these days…

  • @gotyourback can you confirm the queries above please?

  • Just bought one, still not yet tracked by shopback into the account,

  • +4

This is in the T&C from the shopback app:
"SIM cards must be activated within 30 days of purchase"

  • +4

mess up once and all my previous hard work will be undone

  • Hi guys, I didn't find anywhere it says you can cancel the service before the auto-renewal?

    • +1

They don't say that you must continue service so that's a green light

    • +1

      Have used Amaysim many times.
      Signed up!

In these offers, auto-renewal is turned on to get offer.
You can turn off after that.
Likely you'll receive messages to turn back on (to renew). I ignore it.

      NOT SURE OF CURRENT SITUATION:
Previously Amaysim SIM went to PAYG & received calls & SMS for over a year after initial 28d!

      Used to be sent ACTIVATED!
Order to port, or Pay with PayPal (requiring verification to Activate) to avoid this.
