  • Typical COTD to mislead

  • Hmmm, the specs look correct to me. If you flick over to the Specs tab on CotD, you'll find the model they are selling and the data matches what is on Samsung's website

    http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=tele…

  • Please ignore my post above. The jbhifi model is the "40 not the "46.

Thats a great price for the "46.

Do people really want to buy such a big ticket item from CoTD? Knowing how bad their after sales service and support is?

    • You could always just use Samsung as your point of support anyway. For internet orders from ANY site it's probably quicker to do it that way anyway if your having anything more than shipping or very small issues.

    1. I've purchased a powerboard from them…. and it took a good 4 weeks to arrive. God knows how long this TV will arrive…
    2. After sales service is non-existant.
    3. There is no option for additional warrranty.
    4. I have talked to a mate at JB… he said they'll match it + delivery

    Conclusion?

    Get it elsewhere…

    • Do you know if the price matching still applies say next week if this ends today?

  • never had a problem with COTD, but like lobbie said they will do free delivery, usually beat it by a couple of bucks and have noticed that they are a large discount or throw in extended warranty.

  • That is an awesome price. Very tempting. However, I prefer to avoid CotD so I will pass this time. Hopefully more reputable stores will be selling them at this price in the new year :)

  • bought my 50" plasma off Catch of the Day ages ago.. was delivered within a week and have not had any problems with it.
My friend bought a 32" the same day and got it at the same time and also has not had any problems.
I've bought a few other things off them this past year and have never been disappointed… although their birthday catch-a-thon thing was very lame.

    • Yeap, buying is fine (in most cases). Some products ship quick while others take forever.

What a lot of people complain about is the AFTER SALES service. If you happen to have an issue with your T.V I can't imagine the headaches and frustration you would go through.

  • Good Deal BUT……. the LA46A610 is NOT 100hz (to much judder on moving objects or panning screen) plus $80 to $90 delivery, no pickup……

Where the LA46A550 is a 100hz therefor cost more (no motion problems)

  • Any reviews? I googled the model number and got a bunch of price comparisons only.

  • Why so many people care about the after sales service of COTD? When the TV went wrong, shouldn't we contact Samsung after sale service?
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    • Within 7 days, supplier should change over and deal with samsung

      • That's means after 7 days, customer should deal with Samsung directly?

        • Legally… its 7 days.

However, some merchants would honor longer period of time.
ie. Kmart & Target has 14 days from the top of my head….
From experience, JB Hi Fi is 30 days….

          it really does vary….

  • I have had both good and bad service from COTD, my eeepc took 2 weeks to arrive and no updates during that time, but every other time its been around a week.
Great TV for the price, almost perfect but only 50hz so not the best for gaming. We are starting to see generic 100Hz full HD panels so I might hold out a little more.

  • With 200mhz LCd's just starting to be released this stuff will be alot cheaper in the new year.

Good luck with any warranty issues. COTD suck

    • Do some research mate. 200Hz even 100Hz is a scam. Unless they have their own frame creation technology (interpolation) then the doubling up of frames is useless (or in this case quadrupuling)

  • haha i thought COTD was banned from here.

  • Don't buy the 610 model as they're trying to get rid of them and there will be lots of deals in the next 6 weeks.

This model doesn't come with a $300 worth blu-ray player via redemption and it's 30,000:1 contrast without the 100Hz function (which is a gimmick in most cases) compared to it's bigger brother from the same series the 650 with 50,000:1 contrast and 100Hz enabled (also comes with a blu-ray player - review of the 650 here http://www.cnet.com.au/tvs/lcd/0,239035307,339291311,00.htm).

Samsung is up to series 9, so you'd really need to be desperate to save a few dollars to get a slightly larger tv at the cost of picture quality.

  • lol COTD LOL! BLACKLISTTTTTT!

    When do we want it?

    NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Sorry we only blacklist spammers and services utilised by spammers (tinyurl for example). CotD might be an example of epic fail for their birthday promotion, I don't think they warrant being blacklisted.

wow, I ordered one and 3 hours later they rejected my payment and was sold out. I emailed them they already charged me and they said you have to wait a week to get it refunded…. wtf?

    • Hmmm, could this be the beginning of a Dell-like saga? lol

But seriously, that sucks… I feel for ya Legolasi

    • Charge them interest for the short term loan

    • +1

That's COTD is all about :) - sorry to hear your 'yet another bad customer service from COTD' :)

  • i had a bad experience with COTD aswell, i bought 3 items from them and 3 of them comes after 4 weeks and its all bad quality (especially the tiny miny helicopter, what a junk)

btw, its worth to have a look, but its not worth to buy from them unless it is really really bargainnnnn (my personal opinion)

  • TV arrived this morning..Super quick delivery.

Bought the TV but don't really need it…If anyone is interested to buy @ cost price then contact me…

    Pickup from SEDDON VIC 3011…

  • Don't buy this, it's actually a series 5 with the series 6 frame. A true series 6 is the 650 model with the 100hz. Otherwise buy the series 5.
