    Per serving
    Fat 6.1g, carb 37g, sugar 17.3g
Should be dubbed as a fat bar instead
Most of the protein bars are on 50% off this week and I would recommend people going for bsc or musashi instead

Can't a man just enjoy his clif bar in peace?

    • +7

I know OP mentioned gym sesh's, but this is really more of a product for endurance/adventure activities that require a lot of energy. BSC and Musashi are for a different market.

Yeah I'm going to get a couple for a 120km bike ride coming up, perfect for those.

Yep, they're an "energy bar" not a snack bar, I only use them as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up on long hikes or multi-day motorbike rides crossing deserts and such, which is what they're designed for…… When you're living off dehydrated meals and such you need the extra calories from things like this…

Eating these in front of the tv as a snack isn't a good idea, lol

    • Protein bars are gross, clif bars ain’t

    • 6 grams of fat for a bar intended for endurance events? Who TF cares?

    • Maybe you should just work a bit harder

    • For endurance sports, Clif bars are best you can get from supermarket shelves. All the other bars are covered in chocolate which melt in your pocket, and most don't come close to the number of carbs.

  • Everytime I see cliff bars, I think hmmm what would taste nicer, maybe a pile of dirt or a lump of excrement.

      Everytime I see cliff bars

      I think this…

    • You eat lumps of excrement for energy?

Taste is the last thing on my mind when I’m bonked out 100km in.

Aren't all health bars half price this week at Coles?

    • Most are on sale but not half price. The Musashi protein bars are all about 30% off

      • The Musashi protein bars are all about 30% off

        I've gone off those…

  • These bars are full of crap you dont need.
I understand taking one of these on a hike, bike ride etc.. something where you need a quick and energy providing snack.

Other than that, they are just junk food.
You're much better off baking your own protein bars, much healthier and you can actually track your macros if your into that.

      I just bought 15

    • These bars are full of crap you dont need.

Most processed foods are like that…

I stopped reading at "baking your own". Bro, please. I'm investing in high yield vehicles. Who has time for baking. Please take that shit to Reddit.

Literally ate 3 when I was on a 15KM hike in the Blue Mountains rain yesterday
I've had worse but definitely helped. Extremely convenient for on the go.

Other than that if you're a couch slob then you'll see your waist sooner than later hah

$18.90 S&S Amazon (12 pack). Prefer the brownies, but will try these for a change.

  • I used to eat these on longish hikes, somewhat strenuous, but I doubt these did any good. Better to eat clean or not at all (eg fasting) if wanting to lose weight or for health benefits.

I'm fairly certain these contain lots of soy ingredients (being made in the US), not saying that's necessarily bad, but it is a cheap filler.

    • +3

It's an energy bar, not a weight loss product

    • +1

You'd have to have some fairly serious amounts of body fat energy reserves if you're going on long hikes without eating. Otherwise it sounds like a great way to keep emergency services busy.

  • I enjoy these bars, but they give me the serious farts.
