  • Price matching Catch, and also this was on clearance with additional 15% off a few days ago. Now the discount doesn’t apply

    • Was already posted, but sold out less than 1 hour after posting.

    • Yeap, $50 is my desired price point. Imma wait.

  • Worth it at full price for such a classy well made game experience! (Zelda fan myself and this is in my top 3 Zelda games)

This is one of those game experiences I wish they could be ‘re-experienced’ afresh/ anew - for the first time - again.

Just play BoTW. What is your favourite and why is it ocarina?

      • I did. BoTW didn’t capture me as much as ToTK. ToTK I feel is the better made from the two.

lol ‘Ocarina’ (I wish I could enjoy it….its my least liked Zelda actually, next to Majora)

Wind Waker and Link to the Past is where it’s at.

        • +1

Putting oot and mm at the bottom is sacrilegious

          • -3

            @belongsinforums: It may be.

I got bored out of my mind paying OoT to the end (couldn’t wait for it to end)….I didn’t bother much with MM because of its depressive look and setting - and the 3 day anxiety thing…

Maybe this is because my first Zelda was WW and then LttP. (Twilight was good too!)

            • +1

@YoursTruly: Oot might be a nostalgia thing. Mm is much better on 3ds. Totk is amazing but definitely lacks in good music and somehow feels empty despite having such a huge map. Mm and oot have the best music out of all the games and have nice complete stories, although it's hard to go back once you're used to the awesome combat in the switch series games

          • @belongsinforums: Loving botw at the moment and hated oot. Wouldn't call myself a Zelda fan in general but the switch generation could make me one.

        • Personally I got bored with totk after playing botw. Loved botw but felt it was all too repetitive. Just my experience of course

        • Some real downsides to totk such as the story, voice acting and some of the repetitiveness. But the worst part about totk is the performance, feels like im playing a slide show half of the time. Really hope their next console is backwards compatible so the game can get to the state it deserves.

          • @Darkvolcos: I thought it was a big improvement over BoTW in all the aspects you mention.

Performance wise: Sounds like maybe a switch system variant issue ? Or did you play it handheld? Ventilation issue perhaps? Something seems off…

I played it docked on my OG switch launch model smoothly with a stable 30fps. barely any frame drops crept up in my play through.

            • +1

@YoursTruly: Nah I have an OG switch launch model too and noticed a lot of frame drops, mainly when entering new areas. I remember the same thing for botw on the Wii U. I loved botw so much I went and bought a switch and the game just so I could experience it with higher performance… back in 2017.

            • @YoursTruly: There's no way it doesn't lag for you when using the hand magic shit unless you've overclocked or playing on yuzu

            • +1

@YoursTruly: Late reply sorry but I only play it docked and it was pretty bad. Especially the monster hunter quests with the villagers. I was playing a literal slideshow which was disappointing.

Story parts i was really disappointed in was the post temple boss cinematics. It was a copy and paste every time and really brought down the enjoyment of beating the boss personally. Just made it feel like corners were cut.

          • @Darkvolcos: Overclocking the switch makes totk run like a dream. Unplayable without overclocking

      Thanks for the update.

      • +3

I have it too since you're interested.

        • +1

Yes very, did you by chance get it for Christmas also?

  • +1

Just need to be able to play it at 4K60

  • +2

Don’t buy it, you’ll lose your life

    • I bought it and I'm still alive.

      • Have you played it?

If not, try to do the following in precise sequencing:

        1. switching the switch on (a quick google search helps)
        2. remove the game card from its case
        3. insert it into the switch
        4. press b to start!
        5. ???? and hold on to your life !!!

        🙃🙂🙃

        • How can i hold on to my life?

      • +1

I have not bought it and am still alive

    • I'm getting close to 200 hours played and still havent defeated Ganon. So much to do!

  • Would this be factory sealed?

    • +1

If it’s AU stock - not likely. I understand they come without seal from Nintendo AU.

US/ UK stock usually are factory sealed.

      • +1

        thanks

      • Dang, what’s our insurance against mig and container dumping now?

        • insurance against what now?

          • +2

@ruffruff: Oh so recently the file/security system Nintendo has on the cartridges have been cracked.

People have been able just grab the game files and use emulators or an offline Nintendo switch to play copied games for a while (offline to avoid your account getting banned by nintendo)

But now recently they cracked the security system on the unique identifier that’s loaded into each game cartridge Nintendo uses to identify that’s the game is original and belongs to you. Which is also ebables you to claim coins.

So now someone can just take the cartridge, plug it into one of these devices and steal the game and claim for themselves with it’s unique ID and if you try to use that cartridge later, your account looks like you copied the game.

Which you run the risk of loosing the game and your entire account basically.

If it was sealed, you’d know no one messed with it before it got to you (or less likely as they’d have to reseal it, I guess you wouldn’t know lol)

@Larsson: cheers, i'm not sure what answer i expected, but it wasn't that :)

sounds like a pretty niche thing to worry about, anyway

              knock on wood

    • Just arrived, it was sealed

  • A question for Zelda veteran's, if you and the family were brand new to Zelda which game would youstart on for Switch?

    • Links awakening

    • -2

Botw because of all the hand holding. Older zeldas rely on you figuring things out or using a guide

  • This price for ToK is no worries

  • Do you need to play botw first before being able to play this?

    • +1

For story wise yes . But game mechanics wise no

    • +3

Highly recommend yes. This is like an expansion

    • +2

you don't need to, but i would recommend it because they are both great games.

it's easy to enjoy totk after playing botw

i think it would be harder to fully enjoy botw after playing totk becuase you'll feel like some of the improved mechanics are missing

      • it's easy to enjoy totk after playing botw

wife and I dropped TotK halfway, it's just a copy/paste of BotW with additional content…

and we had both spent over 100h in BotW… had more fun playing PalWorld than this unfortunately

I have the game sealed (was playing on PC), can sell for 50 bucks shipped for anyone interested
