  • Have a link to the black one? Best I can see is $86

Great price! If I didn't already have one for myself and one for my SO, I'd pick one up.

    Two semi-hidden features:

    1. If you shake the controller, it wakes the Switch from sleep.
    2. Turbo/rapidfire mode: If you hold down the button you wish to make rapidfire and then press the star button, you toggle on turbo mode for that button. Hold down the button to simulate extremely rapid presses. Do the same to disable.

The feature I liked is that the USB port at the bottom of the dock is actually functional. You can use the dock as the charger and the Bluetooth dongle with a single cable on the PC.

I kinda wish they didn't do a shake to wake function, most of my other third party controllers have no issue with hold button to wake.

The controller is great though, I've got a couple for me and my partner. I have got a mobapad chitu as well but I find the 8bitdo to be more reliable and mobapad put too much play in the triggers on the chitu.

  • Is this the best controller for Switch if you want to use macros or are there better options?

    • I hear its one of the best, there's load of different ones though, like gulikit kingkong2 pro

Also this is like the price/feature range before the like 'elite' class controller that most brands have, though they usually range form like ~$100 +

  • Is this good to play PS3 & Wii Emulators on PC??

    • Not sure about emulators but it works quite well for PC games.

  • Fantastic controller. Just keep in mind the ABXY layout is for switch so if llayibg on pc it could be confusing. 8bitdo do sell Xbox layout buttons for about $3.

For some reason I have amassed a bunch of different controllers over the years and this one is by far the best. The only feature I have on any controller that is better than what this one has is the haptics on the PS5 DualSense.

With this 8BitDo one, the build quality is great, the battery goes forever, the sticks are smooth as butter, D pad and buttons feel just right, you can easily toggle between Bluetooth and 2.5Ghz (Switch and PC in my case), it can wake Switch from sleep, you can create profiles and macros, etc.

Absolutely worth it if you're looking for a new controller!

  • It appears that this deal comes with a USB adapter… Is it the same as https://www.8bitdo.com/usb-wireless-adapter-2/?

EDIT: I'm wondering if I could use the adapter to connect a bluetooth-enabled Stadia controller to the Switch.

Should I be concerned at all that this isn't from the original 8bitdo store?

    • idk i was thinking the same thing, but its on amazon so a return for a broken item or other issue should be easy.

  • I’ve been running the non Bluetooth one for about a year now and it’s really nice quality and feel coming from an Xbox controller lover. Guilikit Kingkong pro 2 is probably another step up if you’re in the market.
