  • Can I use this instead of a towel to dry my body?

    • +9

I use it to dry my ball bag.

      • +6

        Nicely played.

        I couldn’t get mine inside it…

        • +1

I'm not sure why you'd expect to be able to get your hair dryer inside your ball bag…

    New model incoming

$100 more expensive than current RRP.

        • I m talking about the new one.

      • Wow I would pay more for the older generation just to avoid that colour scheme. I can already see them releasing a premium version with a minimalistic "luxury" design

    • True, but the supersonic is already pretty perfect. According to the missus anyway as I have no hair.

    • This one on eBay only has one nozzle/attachment.

  • +2

Never felt happy that I was getting bald until I seen this deal.

If you don’t have EBay Plus, still can use code
    ‘ HERE15‘ To take $15 off.

  • Have used one for almost 4 years and it is simply good.
Not sure how long these should last, not sure if I should just stock up with another one of these.

    • +1

I think, according to comments, by the time yours fails you would be looking for 2040 version.
For existing Dyson Airwrap users, the new heads will (thankfully!) work with the previous model, and can be purchased separately

  • Have been looking at buying a hair dryer. Is it worth the investment over a cheaper one?

    • +6

I think a good hair drying is worth it, but personally I wouldn't pay any more than $150. I recently bought the Dreame hair dryer while it was on sale - it is light, dries fast and my hair is noticeably less frizzy. As of writing it still has a 25% promo code.

    • Not worth it. I have one and to be honest, something 1/3 of the price would probably work just as well if not better. This applies to the rest of my Dyson appliances too.

I got the Airwrap complete long refurnished for that price. Waiting for delivery.

    • from where? any more in stock?

    • Where from mate?

Whats with the negs. I just shared what i got as a good deal.

      • I don’t think people believe you, on account of your enduring failure to disclose where you got it.

        Go on, prove them wrong…

        • -1

If a deal in very limited quantity is disclosed on a public forum, it doesn't remain a deal. Lets just say, individuals who asked got a response from me. I personally have obtained one so it won't affect me but i care for others.

          • @Royale with cheese: But not for the ones who had a genuine enquiry about where such a deal is/was available?

I’ve personally got not interest in a refurb and don’t neg you, but theorise someone who was seeking an answer, but got ignored may have.

Just a theory, since you asked…

  • Genuine question for anyone who owns this - Is this actually worth its exorbitant price? What are the major differences that makes this worth this price compared to a $50 hair dryer?

    • +1

my wife running a salon, she got 3 of these, all of these many times daily for almost every business day for last 4-5yrs, no single issue reported sofar..
      Individual experience may be different..

    • I’ve had it for 3 years now and it’s been worth it for me. I have thick hair, the supersonic is powerful so dries it quickly and the air that comes through doesn’t feel like it’s frying my hair (I haven’t gotten any heat damage from it), doesn’t make it frizzy either. It’s also way more quiet.

    • Yes, works well and this is a great price for a brand new. It's worthy.

    • wife is a high end stylist at weddings, swears by these. Owns enough hair products to start a shop.

    • So it seems like most of the comments are vouching for its reliability and longevity but my $20 Remington has been going strong for 4 years as well(Gotta admit that I don't use it daily though) and does dry my hair pretty quickly. It does make my hair a tad bit frizzy though. So is frizziness the only distinguishable factor for the dyson here compared to lower priced alternatives? ( At least for my use case where I am not going to use it daily?)

      • Don’t buy it then haha

  • I bought this a couple of years ago, quite happy with it, am thinking of buying another one for my daughter, not sure if there would be a better deal at Black Friday sales.

  • +3

Bought one over 5 years (new) and another 3 years ago (Dyson refurbished)

Both used daily by family members and never have any issues. A protip of using the hairdryer is to periodically clean the dust filter at the bottom, an easy twist can remove the cover to clean the dust. I didn’t realised before and once cleaned, the wind speed turns back to same like newly opened

  • Thanks! Got one for wife.

  • Hmm, might invest one reading some positive feedback here.

  • +1

Are attachments the only difference in this model vs the supersonic one? And are the attachments useful? Thanks

    • YouTube is your best friend for each attachment’s purpose

  • Don't think this comes with all the fancy accessories except the styling concentrator?

  • how much to get the other attachments?

  • +1

has anyone been able to price match with JB

  • Should be yellow if it's supersonic..

  • Amazing that the price has not came down over the years.
The cheapest ever is probably still from Dyson back in 2018: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/383587

  • Take a look at Laifen.
    https://laifen.au/collections/all
    We have both.
I'd say 90% quality at about 50% price.

    • They're all sold out. And there is no details there, do they use the similar tech/mechanism?

      • Available from many online retailers.
        Same tech.

        • I mean same tech with Dyson?
