    Equivalent to 4.76% off

  • When there's boosters / minimum spends etc, does paying through the Everyday wallet count. I.e. If it says "Spend $120 on an online shop" Will spending $150 with the Everyday Wallet meet that stipulation. Likewise for the $10 denominations after you get 2k points?

    • +2

Yeah those 2 are fine and meet the stipulation. The one that has caught me out was the 10% off shop benefit (everyday extra monthly rewards / mobile plan discount) . If you spend $120 then apply discount it doesn’t meet the spend requirements.

      • Works fine for me. I used it last week, have been on gift cards for months and I always get asked to apply the 10% benefit or not

        • +9

I’m not saying you can’t use gift cards and apply the 10% discount. I’m saying the qualifying spend appears to be based on the total after the 10% discount is applied. So if you need to spend $120 then your total would need to be $133.34 before 10% discount is applied.

          • -1

@Slo20: To me that sounds logical

            • +1

@tonydav: In hindsight it seems more logical than not but the reason I didn’t think it would be that way was because it applies the discount after you select ‘pay now’.

        • How do you apply 10% discount to giftcards. I made an account and unable to apply my code. Any tips on what i am missing?

          • @chiragv99: @chiragv99 You need to have an Everyday Extra subscription. 10% applies once a month.

        • How do you apply 10% discount to giftcards. I made an account and unable to apply my code. Any tips on what i am missing?

      • +3

I have had no problems getting the bonus points for a mininum spend offer even if the 10% takes it below. Done this a few times for instore transactions. I checked my e-receipts and the last time I came across this scenario was a transaction I did in June 2023.

So it would appear the Woolies' system is able to check if a minimum spent is met using the bill's total before the discount was applied.

        • +2

This is my experience as well.

  • +3

Several major bank cards transactions failed, gosh

    • +2

Down with fiat and the banking cartel!

      • +4

Paid with dogecoin and it went through.

    • +2

Do you have 2 factor authorisation set up on these cards? It always asks for it when mine are placed in the rewards app. Always goes through though

      • Worked in app, thanks

    • App transactions failed. Try the website address instead.

  • +5

    Payment declined as usual. Amex

    • Could try Amex through PayPal and see if that works around it?

Update- worked for me with my Amex

    • +1

      Amex worked for me

These supermarket GCs deals were good when interest rates were at 1-2%. Now not as attractive unless using them almost immediately.

    • +16

This is true if you pay for them using cash from an offset/redraw/savings. However, they are a good deal if purchasing them using a credit card, therefore deferring the payment to a later date.

    • +14

      They're still good value.

If your interest rate is 6% or whatever, then that's on an annual basis. Presumably you're not buying a gift card to last you for the year, so at 5% off as long as you spend within 6 months you should be fine.

If you just buy one that covers 1-2 months you're easily ahead.

      • -2

Yeah but you need to use it straight away or you'll be losing heaps more interest in the bank. I used to buy $2k worth each time special deals on GCs came out and wouldnt be able to use them all for at least 1.5 years.

        • I wouldn’t call “straight away” anything under 1.5 years!

You can buy as many or as few as what meets your circumstances.

Most people’s interest rate would be 6%, so long as you use them in the first 9 or so months you’ll definitely be ahead.

I’ll only buy a couple of months worth anyway, hopefully Prezzee will have some more good deals soon

      • 6 months is the right amount. The only gripe I have is whether the extra friction to spend the gift card each time is worth the 4% lol

        • +1

Do you just add the gift cards to your WW rewards account and pay with everyday pay?
I stack all my gift cards there and it uses them in the order you added them.

You can also add the same GC to multiple different accounts at the same time, and it'll just use them all automatically and tell you the balance remaining on each

          • @Brick50: Yeah i add it to everyday pay. Its still a lot of extra steps compared to just tapping with ur card.

  • +1

further 5% value not applicable with nsw seniors card purchase.

    • +5

The NSW Seniors offer is a slightly better deal, because it's 5% discount, not 5% added value. In the Seniors deal, a "custom" amount of $263.15 will cost you $250 after the 5% discount is applied. In the above deal, buying a $250 gc gets you $12.50 extra, or 65c less than the Seniors.

      • +1

Appreciate the explanation but the first comment on this post literally said it's 4.76% discount.

  • Transaction declined and bank froze my credit card 😮‍💨 getting unfrozen now.
Just heads up if you did want to use your card today you may want to hold off or use PP.

  • +1

Mine worked through the rewards app

    • How do you buy from rewards app couldn’t figure it out !

      • +3

Click the "Discover" Tab at bottom of screen in app then scroll down and there will be an icon "Everyday Gifting" which will take you to gift card page.
Just note when purchasing from within the app you can only buy one gift card at time (max $500) as opposed to the website where you can buy up to five - not sure if anyone knows a way to buy more this way?

        • +1

          Thanks mate

  • +5

When this offer expires, just remember you can get 4% off @ woolies GC whenevers a U need using NRMA blue membership 😉

    • +1

Senior Card is 5% as highest.

      • only NSW and VIC :(

  • +2

Anyone got their gift card after ordering? Been over an hour and still haven't received it!

    • It made your first ever comment.

    • Mine appeared in the rewards app with “activating” and then disappeared and all I’ve received is the confirmation email. Been an hour for me too. They must be backed up, good to know it’s not me.

      • My card just came through now

    • Same here.

    • Mine took just over 3 hrs to arrive

  • Can we buy a gift card with another gift card? I get 5% cashback through my employer's rewards program on gift cards, can I get a $100 gift card for $95 (after CB) and then use that to buy a $100 + $5 gift card?

    • Yes you can do that . I did that with Westfields gift cards for years.

      • How did you do that? On the everyday rewards app, it requires the details of a bank card. I cannot pay with my wish gift card even with one in the app wallet.

        • I'm also wondering this.

  • +4

Purchased via website 3hrs ago, still no giftcard. Purchased via app and giftcard was activated within a couple of minutes.

    • thanks for the info, purchased via app and got the giftcard after 2 mins. they also added it to my account automatically.

  • +2

Last time I received the gift card within 5 minutes; it's been a few hours and I still haven't received it yet.

  • Purchased $200 via Rewards app and got a $210 gift card immediately.

  • Just got mine. Ordered 7:12. Got it 9:41.

  • Thanks OP, ordered and received within 2 min

  • Ordered $500 x 2 on website, received $525 x 2 in minutes

  • +5

Worked with the Coles prepaid Mastercard.

  • Can we use for this deal?

    • Can't buy gift cards with gift cards at Woolworths.

    • I would be very surprised if you could do that.

      • That is against the terms and conditions for all gift cards issued by Woolworths Group.

      • If you select Gift Card as a payment method at a self-service checkout and then you scan, swipe or enter a gift card, an Item Not Allowed error message should pop up on the EFTPOS terminal. A staff member would then need to clear the error message before you can attempt to use another payment method.

      • If you go to a standard checkout and ask to pay using a Gift Card, you'll either be told “no” by the checkout operator, or the checkout operator will let you try and you should get the same error message as the one you get at self-service checkouts.

      • If you try to use Everyday Pay as a payment method for purchasing any gift cards at Woolworths (or BIG W), you should get an Item Not Allowed error. This is because Everyday Pay cannot be used to purchase any gift cards under any circumstances, even if there are no gift cards issued by Woolworths Group (e.g. Woolworths, WISH) added to the Everyday Pay wallet.

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. Bought a Big W and a Woolworths using my bank account via Paypal Pay in 4 and both my GC's came in immediately.

    • do you know if pay in 4 has any sort of credit assessment?

      • Ohhh I really can't remember sorry. I have used it a few times before so I'm not sure if I had to do an assessment the first time. Sorry not to be more helpful.

  • +1

Was hoping this came round before end of March for my employees benefit card. Can choose specific amount down to the cent.

    • +1

yes just click other and enter amount - min $5 though

  • Thanks OP, ordered through the app, got instantly

  • Will this track as major supermarkets for Amex?

    • During a different deal two months ago on this gift card portal, someone said AMEX treated their purchase as one from a major supermarket (and you can see in my reply why I was surprised by that).

    • Always has for me. I did it in last month or so on Platinum Edge Amex.

  • what's the point of entering your Woolies Rewards Card Number in these ones?

    • +1

Sometimes they have rewards offers like get bonus points when you spend x on gift cards etc

      • +1

ya I know but not this one

also I found those ones like bonus points when enter rewards numbers don't work half the time…. I'm pretty sure I've missed out because of it

  • Im seeking to buy some gift cards but would like someone to confirm if I can use my additional 10% off shop once a month when selecting to pay with a gift card? Cheers!

  • Somewhat related, is anyone else having difficulty using EverydayPay (i.e. scan the QR code on the POS while in the Everyday Rewards app) to make payment? Not sure if it is us or the store we normally shop at but the store says that they are having lost of issues with EverydayPay.

Using EverydayPay is convenient as I can just load these GCs into the wallet and it will automatically deduct from the GC and then CC if the GCs runs out. So with EverydayPay not working, it's then another step to sue the GCs.

    • Everyday Pay requires a Internet connection. I had no Internet on my Optus mobile inside my local Woolworths for a couple of weeks and had to manually scan the gift card barcodes I had saved elsewhere. Light glare on the EFTPOS terminals is also problematic for QR code scanning.

      • It's not an internet related issue.

Edit: Thanks for your comment about scanning the barcode. It's been a while since I've had to use the GC outside of Everyday Pay. As it can be scanned, it is less annoying to use.

    • What does ‘having difficulty Everyday Pay’ mean?

I have had lots of issues with it, including crashing the whole POS at the self checkouts on at least four occasions resulting in staff having to reboot it and rescan all the groceries again.

      • +1

After paying for the groceries, the display says paid. Then the cashier says that it wasn't paid.

The payment shows up on my credit card. Store manager insists that it hasn't been paid according to their system and wants us to pay for the groceries the 2nd time and said that there would be a reversal on my CC. It's been nearly 2 weeks now and there is no reversal amount on my CC.

      • Same thing happened to me twice as well. I used to scan the rewards card barcode at the beginning and the everyday pay QR code at the end as well (which used to work fine but something must have changed in the system) and a staff member said that was what was causing the error. She told me not to scan the card and just choose everyday pay as payment at the end.

So the crashing the POS stopped, but then I didn't receive the 10% off prompt for everyday extra. When the rewards card was scanned and everyday pay was not chosen as the payment method, the prompt popped up…

        • I normally scan the QR code only as that reads the Rewards as well.

If you need to reach Everyday Pay tech support, call 1300 10 1234: Option 3 (Gift cards), then 1, then 3.

    • Nah, mine is fine with every POSs.

  • +2

Paypal coles mc works online, not through app.

  • Ordered from the website using PayPal. GC came through within a minute.

  • Did anyone successfully order and receive the gift card?
I tried to place the order but transaction failed when using my credit card on the website; I tried to use Paypal but the transaction also failed. I contacted the bank and bank said it could be the merchant issue as my card is fine.

    • Have you tried using PayPal and choose the option of paying from bank account? It works for me

    • I had issues last night paying with Paypal and it automatically refunded. Now it's sold out, oh well.

  • +1

Tried in apps multiple times using CBA debit and ANZ credit card, failed saying “Something went wrong”.
Tried in website using the same cards, failed again.

    Always the sentences:
“Something went wrong. Your payment has been unsuccessful at this time.
Your card hasn’t been charged. Please try again using your Credit or Debit Card.”

    :(

Update: Oh! When I tried PayPal, the option that directly pay by bank account (not debit card) worked!!!!

  • Worked fine for me tonight doing the payment in app with debit card and got the gift card (with added 5% value) immediately.
