I was at Total Tools earlier today and saw they had this kit marked down to $349. It includes Dewalts top of the range hammer drill, a 6ah Flexvolt battery, and a 6 amp fast charger in a TSTAK case.
For most people, I recommend the DCD805 with the Powerstack battery, but this drill is better for heavy duty/trade use, like using large hole saw, drilling through steel, or using it for mixing. It's similar in performance to the top Milwaukee drill and just a step below the best Bosch and 40v Makita XGT. You won't find any of those for this price, though, not even for just the skins.
The drill works with any Dewalt 18v batteries, but has more power if you use the included Flexvolt. The battery will work with any 18v Dewalt tools. It will also work with any of their 54v Flexvolt skins.
They also had the skin only on clearance for a similar price. There are rumours that Dewalt may be releasing the successor to the DCD999 this year, so Total Tools might be trying to get rid of excess stock before it's officially announced. Still, it's a great price for the kit.
I don’t think that side handle is long enough
