The 27" is also a great price as well, recently grabbed it from Dell directly for about 100+ more.

    • +1

Yep got it for $1100 + $14.99 shipping! Just had to speak to rep through chat.

They said 11 left in stock.

      • I can only get it down to $1102. Says thats the lowest the system can go, lol!

        • +1

Call them back telling them they lied because someone from Ozb got it for 2 dollars cheaper.

        • Haha they told me $1103 but somehow my mate got some bloke who gave him $1100. He told me the same thing, $1103 the lowest he can go, showed him my mates invoice, then he gave it $1100!

          • @Shaunzki: Its ok, it is sold out anyway so too late to argue for it. Otherwise I will be on a backorder God knows how long it will be.

          • @Shaunzki: Putting the $3 straight in the offset or?

      • Shame companies can't throw in free shipping on an $1100 purchase.

  • +1

Amazing price for such a new model.

I wonder why they discounted it so soon. It was only released a few weeks ago.

    • I'm sure it's just a general discount across dell monitors. However most reviews Ive seen say they're not a fan of the curve at 32 inch, which may be limiting its appeal somewhat? I'd love one, but I'm also considering the older 34 inch as a result of this criticism and not being able to see it in person first.

      • +1

Ahh wow a curved 32"… Yeah that'd be the dealbreaker for me. I've had the AW3423DW for over a year now and I still hate the curve. I accept it because until now it was really the only OLED monitor on the market, and being ultrawide it's acceptable I suppose. I'd trade it in a heartbeat for this one if it wasn't curved though.

      • +15

I have this monitor, bought it on release, the curve is quite subtle, and I was coming from only ever using plat panels previously.

Overall love the monitor, I finally understand the appeal of HDR (Especially with the release of RTX HDR Video), but I must admit, 4k in most games even with a 4090 is a struggle which is a shame.

240hz is amazing in competitive games, however not a massively huge different between 240hz and 160hz but noticeable enough, not sure I would buy the monitor for just that reason, but I don't dedicate my time to get good at them anymore.

Dell have also done a FANTASTIC job with pushing out firmware update after firmware update, something that quite a few of us were sceptical of before purchasing, but the support on this monitor has been fantastic.

I had no regrets buying it at $1800, $1500 is a bargain to be sure.

        • Struggling with a 4090?? So I shouldn't bother considering this if im running a 4080S? I was planning on upgrading from a 1440p monitor to 4k so I can take advantage of my new GPU

          • +1

            @sim777: Buy 4090 and don't look back.

          • +1

@sim777: 4080s would be fine, maybe ~20% less frames than 4090. And if games have have good DLSS even better

            • @Thaal Sinestro:

The higher the fps, the more electricity you use.

don’t think it works that way

              • +1

@povogamer: Explains why Thaal has underclocked his brain though

        • One good thing about 4K is it scales to playable 1080 nicely.

      • +5

I find the 42" C2 flat perfectly acceptable, wouldnt be happy with 32 curved screen.

  • Would the extended warranty cover burn in protection?

      • +1

You don't need the extended warranty though right? Under Aussie Consumer Law you're covered for 7 years?

        • +1

Sorry I was just talking in regards to the Dell warranty, I never buy extended warranties.

          • +1

@buku: With OLED it might be worth it? You wouldnt be paying 1800 for 3 years knowing things might burn in.

            • @John Doh: Hard to say at the moment, no real long term burn in tests have been completed at this stage with this panel, if you follow common sense you shouldn't really have to worry about it too much.

Looking at what the associate posted below in terms of the extended warranty, it doesn't actually seem like it covers burn in.

              • @buku:

no real long term burn in tests have been completed at this stage with this panel

Thats why i felt warranty was needed. at 1.8k i would expect it to last 5 years atleast. but if it does not cover burn in then no point.

              • +1

@buku: I have just received a new AW3420DW as my old one had some serious burn in on the right hand side of the screen. Dell support took a while (about an hour one phone) and needed about 3-4 photos of the screen, but sent me a new one express.

Would I go back to a LCD? No, OLED is seriously pretty to look at. I am about to buy extended warranty for it, as it has a year left, and just over $200 for another 2 years.

The disadvantage of OLED is I tend to turn it off more instead of leaving the screen on, but I guess that will save me money in electricity in the long run, and it turns on pretty quick as well.

BUT, yes it does cover burn in for anyone interested.

      • This 100%. Customer service is the best ever.

    • -3

You mean the 5 year warranty with jb extra care? I would say yeah. Anything that isnt supposed to happen is covered.

      • You don't need the extended warranty though right? Under Aussie Consumer Law you're covered for 7 years?

        • -4

nah 2 years minimum, already overlapped with dell 3 years. see here second page https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0024/9803/5810/files/JBEC_…

          • +5

@despavr: Stop misleading people and lying. He's referring to Australia Consumer Law. Warranties, especially the warranties you linked, are a complete scam.

Under the law in Australia they are covered for expected life of the product, and for a premium product such as a $1,500 monitor, that's going to be a verrrryyyy long time.

          • @despavr: Lol…

          • +1

            • @thesainter: damn so we can sue those mofos if they dont give us 7 years?

            • -1

@thesainter: yall acting like i make money and commission from telling you what i said. everything i provided is factual and if you want to go back and forth with the ACCC you can do that 😂😂😂

        • can u explain further what this is and how it would cover?

      • +11

JB extra care is a scam.

        • Firstly I just bought a C4 42 and it's incredible. I came from a 27inch, 165 1440 asus rog and thought I could manage the size. It's amazing. Oled and the LG game modes are awesome.

As for the warranty, I got the cover from jbhifi on my old 65 LG C8, and in year 5 I got all these dimmed dots on the edges. Called up jbhifi. They sent a guy out, who brought a brand new panel with him and swapped it. No issues. Installed off a phone call.

Maybe my consumer rights would have let me fight my way through to a win, and maybe it sucks but I enjoyed the experience and bought it again for my C4.

    • +2

No. I confirmed with online support.

    "Delivered by 14th May"

      • They're released, just stock issues, pretty sure both have been out for months.

        • Ahh my bad then, was also looking at Amazon and it states

This item will be released on May 17, 2024
          Pre-order now

          • @BargainsGrabber: Not available to retailers until recently, I think! I'm fuming bought the 27" for 1.2Kish recently, then within a couple of days it's on JB, then a week later JB have it on special for 100 less!

      • My son got his about 2 months ago.

  • +2

Oh god, Team Global Express are responsible for delivery. Just had the worst experience with them that I've ever had with a delivery company (the pretended no one home delivery attempt, agree to reattempt delivery then change their minds two days later, then return to JB upon my request but now JB have no idea where the package is.
Just be prepared to go to a TGE collection centre.

    • +7

A TGE driver actually entered my house (all the way through to the back room) to deliver 2 large 20kg packages the other day while I am currently shoulder injured. He did it without hesitation. Past experiences I've asked for help for other reasons have had other couriers refuse to enter the premises. I was impressed.

All these delivery companies are only as good as the single contractor/employee who does the last mile to your house, and I don't think it's fair to condemn (or praise) a whole company because of one person in a sea of many.

      • +1

That's great and I agree, however I dealt with more than just the delivery driver. I received different messaging during three occasions from their contact centre and with the exception of the last person who initiated the return, they were incredibly rude. Personally, I'd never use them again if I had the choice.

  • +5

That's a great price. If it wasn't curved I'd be all over it.

    • +1

I would suggest having a look at some videos on the monitor or even seeing it in person if you get the chance, the curve is quite subtle, but if you don't like a curve at all this wont really change your mind.

      • +1

more or less 16:9 monitors need to be flat
21:9 monitors need to be curved

I can't stand anything else (and yes I have gone through a lot of high end monitors to come to this realization)

        • +4

It certainly comes down to personal preference, but aspect ratio has less of an impact on it than the physical size of the display itself imo, I would certainly agree that 27" and below does not warrant a curve at all, 32" and above is where it becomes more beneficial in my opinion.

Also how close you sit to the monitor is a big factor, and I sit around 45cm away.

          • +1

@buku: I sit 60 cms from 42 c2 and dont feel the need for a curve, but i might be wrong as I havent sat in front of a curved 42"

    • it's kinda irelevant if a 16:9 monitor is curved or not. your brain adjusts and after using it for a short while you get used to it.
Kinda like how you adjust to getting new glasses. (if you wear glasses)

  • One month wait, no pick up options, no thanks . Jb chat knocked price further down to 1499

Dell won’t price match it , already tried

    • How you get them to knock down $1499?

      • +3

Have this intro on the chat "One month wait, no pick up options, no thanks"

  • -1

100% would jump if it were a flat-earther

  • +4
    • Oh this is cheap, much cheaper than MSI.

      • Wish the MSI price was more reflective of the US price here…. 80W usb c a good feature

    • Oh my thank you for bringing this to our attention! I was in the market for this and I can’t believe it is already on sale!
Just one question tho, in case of burn in would Dell still honour it since the purchase is from JB instead of Dell?

      • +1

You deal with JB instead of Dell, they're the reseller, as far as I understand our consumer laws, if you purchase it from a retailer, you deal with them if something goes wrong.

        • You understood incorrectly. By law, you can deal with either the retailer or the Australian distributor. The consumer's choice.

          • +1

@Bruceflix: Oh nice! So can have peace of mind either way you get it from, thank you! 🙏

            • -1

@Illuxz: You buy from JB, you deal with JB. End of story.

          • -1

@Bruceflix: Well…. JB is the distributor of Dell? Dell is the manufacturer.

You're not wrong in saying you can do both, but what I mean is it's often probably much easier to deal with the retailer/distributor, and have them sort it, which means maybe they have to arrange parts/repair for you, book technician etc, rather than you going out of your way to call multiple people to organise it.

Of course if you prefer to that yourself instead, you can.

            • -1

@Tbargain12: JB is the retailer. Dell is the Distributor. Do whatever suits you. Just don't give incorrect advice.

              • @Bruceflix: Dell is the manufacturer, in almost no situation would Dell be seen as a distributor in this case of a person buying 1 single monitor for private use from a retailer, nor would it matter.

Like any product issue, you always have the ability to deal with the manufacturer, but in the case of something is wrong that needs repair/replacement, even after you've gone to Dell to troubleshoot and confirmed that the product is faulty, they'll likely tell you to tell the retailer that they've authorise a replacement.

It's not incorrect advice, end of the day JB sold you the product, they're responsible to help you deal with the problem. Nobody is saying Dell won't honour anything, they have details of the serial that can simply look up whether the product is in warranty or not etc.

    • Amazing price. I've got the AOC 240hz 1440p OLED and it cost more than this!

  • +4

I have this monitor and it's amazing, great price so early after release! For everyone worried about the curve, you only really notice it when the monitor is off. You can however notice it slightly doing casual activities, like web browsing, word docs, spreadsheets, etc. But it's not a work monitor, it's a gaming monitor. So when you're playing games it's doing a great job of subtly bringing those corners slightly closer to your peripherals and enhancing the immersive experience.

That's my 2 cents! Goes without saying but the crisp 4k and OLED make everything pop, I can't go back to to anything else hahah

    • I also dont notice the resolution of the monitor when its off. So il imagine its an 8k monitor. 😜

  • +1

Might aswell buy 4090 to drive this monitor

  • Damn soooo tempting. Want the new LG 32 dual mode WOLEDs, but don't think they'll get remotely near this price.

    • Same, going to sell my 3423dw replacement once it arrives from Dell.

Looking for that model or the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM to fit in my ROG build. But yeah, not even close.

  • +1

I hate these triangle stands, they are so annoying.
Oled is still expensive for now. I am waiting for LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B to drop the price.

  • Doesn't appear to have vesa attachment capability which is a negative for me too Incorrect, oit has 100 x 100 VESA according to RTings
Tempted after the comments above about the curve being subtle. I don't see any other monitors being this value for the rest of the year…

Interesting that at RTings the comparison to the AW2725DF Is a little more favourable to the smaller one - which is FLAT by the way.

    • +1

i checked the dell website, it does say VESA Mount Interface 100x100mm

  • only $1291 with 15%off gift card?

    • +2

where does one find 15% gift card? :)

      • I mean if someone has gift card can get it only for 1291…but I am not sure.
I used my gift card for iPhone 15 from JBHIFI last year.

        • +1

yeah, best I have is to buy gift cards with 5% discount…which still isn't bad, but its not 15% :)

  • Dope deal, great monitor

  • Maybe a stupid question - but if I can only push 1080p at a fast framerate - is the pixel doubling upscaling nice and clean?

  • +1

I love and hate this group at the same time as paid a couple hundred more for this but mine is in transit as we type .. ahhhh should of waited.

    • Can return it to Dell if you want. 15 day no question return period. Otherwise you could open chat with dell support and tell them that you will return unless they refund the difference. Almost certain it won’t work but worth a shot.

      • Doesn't hurt to ask so I will get on the blower to them.

Dell won't budge on competitor websites. At least I have the Dell support portal if needed. You win some you lose some.

      • doing this now. No they would't refund difference but will accept return…
Wonder how long I have to return. Don't want to be without one for too long

        • The other thing is as well, if you already have a "good panel" meaning you spot no obvious issue, I'm not sure if you want to return it and risk gambling with JB having to mess around with panels with potential issues. Not saying there will be any, but…

        • +1

Dell website also now reflects the discounted price so we are now eligible for the difference in refund being within 30 days purchase date.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought five

  • -5

OLED's just aren't there for desktop use yet.
I got rid of my 3423DW and went back to IPS
Can actually have a wallpaper, can show my desktop icons, can have a task bar, no crappy curve, don't have to have the monitor on sleep every 5 minutes, no daily prompts to run a pixel refresh during use…the list goes on.

I'll revisit OLED in a couple of years once the kinks are ironed out.

    • +1

Don't know why this is being negged, so many 3423DW's with burn in (mine included)

  • bring back wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwqhd

  • +5

I got this monitor last week and it hasn't disappointed. I bought it to game on, but I do also work on it 8 hours a day and haven't had any issues, i.e. text clarity is good, SDR brightness is good enough, auto-input switching is well behaved, curve is barely noticeable and hasn't been distracting, never seen a pixel refresh prompt, etc.

Aside from turning on a screensaver after 5 mins, sleeping after 10 mins and switching to dark mode on most things, I'm not taking any precautions against burn-in. If it burns in quickly, I'll use the warranty and reconsider how I use it with the replacement.

  • Does anyone know if there's a model similar to this that ISN'T curved?
My ideal screen is a 2K, 144hz, 32" OLED flatscreen with a flat base, but I'd be happy to go up to 4K and 240hz. The curve will screw me up though!

    • MSI, Asus, Gigabyte all have non curved offerings using the same panel.

      • +1

They do, yeah, I've been eyeballing them - the MPG 321URX is PERFECT… But, unfortunately, $2200. $1500 or less would be much more palatable!

        • Yeh waiting for a deal on the MSI… bummer doesn’t better reflect the lower US price here

          • +1

@gazer: Oooooh yeah, I'm hanging out for a miracle bargain on that one. Was thinking exactly the same thing, in the US it's, what, something like $950 USD, which is a high conversion but almost the lowest price over there for an OLED panel? And here it translates to $2200?!

$950 is roughly $1500 here, and for that price, I'd call that model a good deal considering my last acquisition was in 2015 and was a 27" 2K IPS 165hz panel for the same price…
