Sometimes I wonder, why would spend so much money for a projector (I know it's 4k but is it really required)?

    • +2

130" screen home theatre is my reason

      • Hey yashyes. What furniture do you use to place this on given the distance required between the unit and the wall? I looked at specs for a 120 inch screen and the front of the LSP9T would be 56.3cm from the wall.

        • +1

I currently have a TV unit 45cm wide for my 65" TV, soundbar, gaming console, router etc. Initially I will be pulling it back from the wall around 15cm and that should give me ~120" screen. Later on i will find a low profile TV unit to get the full 130" (as my current unit is bit high).

Required, no. No one needs a TV/screen larger than 50". Is it nice to have a massive 100" screen without the hassle of hanging it up plus neat cable management, absolutely.

      • +3

No one needs a tv, ,everyone is on their phone whilst watching tv anyway

    • +1

Your question is essentially why would anyone want a large format cinema experience at home… Obviously that is something people may prefer over a TV that is a quarter the size.

  • What furniture and screen do you recommend to use with this?

    • -1

The screen must be an ALR unless the room is dark and wall is smooth. Any cabinet that is not too high will do it, the height and distance depends on the screen size.

Is there much demand for the LS7? I can do a deal for prices under $2k at the moment?

  • confirmed same price on Gov EPP portal - still in stock.

    Edit: OOS now

  • Caved in and got one

    • could you share the invoice so I can try to price match it somewhere else?

  • If not a student, how can you have a Samsung edu account?

  • Dam, I have waited so long for this.

    • years i guess, same with me :)

This promotion doesn't seem to make sense. Are students nowadays able to afford a $3400 TV or projector easily?

        • … And actually have a place to use it appropriately! Amazing isn't it. Thais is what I was exactly thinking too

        • This comment keeps flying around.. there are mature age students doing masters post grads doctorate etc who are still students.

  • Question for those who own these, it says minimum 25cm from the wall for a 90 inch screen, could you bring it closer for a smaller screen?

    • yes

    • +1

the smallest is around 75inch i can get when i push it touching the wall.

    4 years old models

  • It's showing out of stock..for triple laser 😢😢 does anyone has the LSP7T, just want to know what's the big difference between both since the LSP9T is showing out of stock.

    • Major differences LSP9T can be placed closer to the screen/wall for the screen size, brighter image, better built-in sound

  • I bought the 7T
    Buy now think later
    Hope I didn't make a mistake

  • All sold out it seems

  • They are both OOS now?

  • thanks op. screen deals?

  • Newer models coming soon?

LSP9 - back in stock now? I could see Add to Cart option !

  • Has anyone tried getting 10% discount code from the chat support? I wonder will it work on edu store? Also what's the lowest price people bought this? Is only 5% discount in app available?

    • I checked before buying, only 5% off via app, no other code available. I also redeemed my samsung points from previous purchase for additional $17 discount.

  • Thanks for replying..i am just wondering does anyone has this already.. Just wanted to know picture quality compared to QLED TV..will this be a good buy or should I buy 85" 98" QLED? Plz suggest guys.. Thanks

    • Picture quality will be better on the QLED.

Anyone got any particular ALR screen they can recommend from first hand experience?

    • I've been using Vividstorm ALR screen which has been very good.

  • The Hisense PL1 is a way better deal than the LP7:

    Hisense has:

3 years warranty vs 1 Samsung
    Dolby vision vs N/A Samsung
Better Contrast and it is smaller.

All electronic goods get 2 years warranty under Australian consumer law.

      • Samsung website says 1 year. I assume I will have to fight to have it covered after that.

        • There's no messing about with consumer law or any room for being difficult or avoidant without huge penalties. Yes indeed 1 year might be correct from their perspective, and that warranty may well apply to businesses or other commercial, but they don't get a choice in Aus when it comes to the consumer (brother worked for a Samsung 3rd party repairer, and they really do their best to squeeze them on cost). 1 year manufacturers warranty does not apply to a consumer in Aus unless you bought it grey.
Also, as I understand from a retailer point of view, they can take care of the returns for you for the first year, after that you'll need to go direct to the manufacture and handle it yourself. May differ these days but was my understanding a few years back. Open to being corrected.

          • @Wheresmyspaceship: Having said the above, that 3 year warranty from Hisense is above and beyond. Curious what people experiences are with and claims after the second year.

  • They both are OOS now.

FYI, my LSP7T developed a fault twice where several black spots would appear on the image, first time they replaced the part and the second time I said it is a dud product and got my money back. It is a known issue, just be aware it might happen.

    • Wooh..how long you used it for and this started developing.? Also what you using now? Do let us know..you must have also invested in the screen ya.. Which screen you suggest.

      • -1

It developed the issue after 9 months then again 5 months later with the replaced part.
I got 120" ALR screen with the projector as a promo and kept it.
I currently have a Formovie Theater which is miles better than Lsp7t, very happy with it.

  • Out of stock when I checked :-(.. Both.

    • I think i got the last triple one !! Have 2 weeks to delivery to re-think what i just did and if i dont make peace with it you can have it :)

      • Luckier than I am, bought yesterday, still waiting for approval with Samsung!

  • Very tempting price but it looks like you need another $2000 for a good screen unless you have a very dark room?

  • -1

But it's OOS since last 3days..hope it comes in stock before the offer expires.. Anyway knows does it usually stay OS's till end or they do stock up.

  • I do not have a TV nor any big screen. Wanted to get one but unfortunately i was too late in securing one.
