I got the front panel with LCD & home button for $30~ & the back panel for $7 from ebay.
I bought a fresh set of screws for $2 and brand new wifi antenna cover for $2, I can buy the metal chassis for $15 bucks and we have a fresh phone including extras all for, wait for it….. $56 !

Oh and they give you a full set of tools free with both the front and back cover, bought separately.
Only requirement is patience. watch a YouTube video and you're all set to DIY.

EDIT: damn it me secrets out !

For $179 (an extra of $29), you can go to apple store and get the new or apple's own refurbished one. Much more reliable.

Just go there, complaint about the battery and they will give you an option of paying $179 for replacing

    • I agree with this. It just isn't worth voiding the warranty. You might also find that Apple will replace it for free if you a nice enough and honest about your mistake.

  • Dumb. Just dumb.

  • Do you think I can replace a screen and silver bezel for my galaxy s3 on the cheap too?

  • .

  • For $179 you not only get a apple refurb but also a 3 month warranty. Much better value for money IMHO.

  • are people that retarded to actually take this offer up?

  • -5 and counting.

    hi everyone,

i just want to say that changing the front screen on an iphone is actually quite involved
it requires almost taking out all of the components from the back to front to replace

im sure fix station is making very little money on this when you take into account all of their costs (offering a warranty, risk of service etc)

sure it is probably easy or tricky ways to get apple to replace your phone but this might be a good option for people outside of warranty.

ill give you a +1 for out of warranty support

Apple does OOW (out of warranty). Thats what they charge $179 for.

    • It's still better to go to Apple. They only charge a little more than this and you can be confident that you have 100% genuine parts, as well as knowing that if you then had another problem you can take it back again for them to fix it.

        Ah this I didn't know.
        Good to know, thanks guys

No prob! When you buy Apple you do pay a premium, but it is nice to know that you can rock up to any of their stores and get a pretty much new device without having to send yours off to Hong Kong and waiting months.

  • $179 from Apple comes with a fresh 3 month warrenty to. Don't bother with these dodgy people.
