  Can anyone comment on how well this does on carpet? Would I be better off getting the new version? My house is probably 60 percent carpeted.

    I've been using this for about a year now, and i have a mostly carpet house as well. It's been doing a decent job so far. We don't have any pets, so can't say anything about pet hair and no kids so maybe relatively less mess. But wouldn't say any particular issues on carpets.
