Which Tablet for Children Is The Current Best Value - Budget $200

Looking to purchase a tablet for my young kids to use. 99% of the use will be for watching media on YouTube or streaming services and non-demanding games from the app store.

Bonus would be a nicer screen which ran smoothly but this isn't overly critical as it's unlikely me or my partner finds any major use for it, though if it was to be more capable then using it for basic Web browsing would realistically be as much as we'd use it for.

Looking to spend in the ballpark range of $200, and on a tablet where cases and screen protectors can be found on eBay etc.

Thank you in advance for suggestions!

I really misread that title, I figured you're buying some children and need a tablet to keep tabs on prices.

What Tablet Is The Current Best Value to Keep an Eye on Price for Children?

Haven't bought children, nor in the market to do so.

  • I've got my daughter a Tablet M9 for my Daughter, $150 range when on special and then bough a case of Amazon.

  • Blackview tab 11 is pretty good. Takes a sim so if you get your hands on a free Boost sim you can use it as a phone. Downside is that it doesn't charge with a usb C to C head so it's a little slow to charge. Battery life seems good. Got this for $150 last year.

Alldocube iplay 50 mini pro - I really like this tab, but it is prone to touch input issues. I asked on here if people had this issue but no response, there's a lot more on reddit and telegram. BUT it is a very easy fix with $2 tape from Temu but you have to open it up. Good for kids because of the size and weight. Got it for around $180 last year

I still think that the best value all-round tablet is almost always an iPad - you can probably target something like a 6th / 7th generation iPad for around $200 - $250.

Alternatives would be something like a Samsung Tab S6 / S6 Lite.

My experience is that when spending this amount of money, something that's used, but a few generations old will always be better than something new. I've spent so much money on e-waste tablets.
