NO2 is what you're after.. this stuff will only give you the long sleep.

      • Haha, oh man.

You can't use these to inject your car with high performance energy either!

      • +3

I think carllevy is thinking of N2O (unless he wants you to die).

        • N2O will make you laugh.
NO2 will put you to deep eternal sleep.

Carllevy knows what he/she is on about.

The way I read it was:

NO2 is what you're after [to get high].. this stuff [CO2] will only give you the long sleep

          Kids, please don't inhale NO2!

        • +1

Oops, yeah, I typed it wrong. Don't do the one I mentioned kids (thought doubt you'd find it in a bulb).

    • no, used for tyre inflation, paintball,bb etc
btw, this is ONLINE only so shipping needs to be added, and even though i live literally up the road from the shop shipping is $4.95 which for me pretty much kills the deal…

      • Not really.. most people wouldn't buy one. At this price you'd be better off getting 30 or so.
BTW I have been using these for the past 9-12months and they work like any of the other brands out there (buy obviously a lot cheaper).

        • true, but if you buy 101(to be exact 100.95!) you get free shipping! but hey if you got some friends you can sell them to you could even make a buck or two…

        • +3

Just purchased 100, unfortunately living in Bendigo I don't get free shipping :( But managed to use 'Thankyou' for a $10 off orders of $50 or more

        • legend - thanks for the code - worked for me as well

just bought 50 cannisters and a couple of camelbak water bottles

          superb

    • +2

Tried one once. Turned green and started growing leaves.

  • $10 postage kinda wrecks it though.. would have bought some otherwise

  • These go well with sparkler bombs.

    • How so? If you mean heating them, you're crazy, these canisters aren't light (at least when talking about projectiles) and could hurt anyone they hit.

    • yeh we were naughty kids too. would explode them by putting one into a film container/canister filled with match heads. lucky we didnt lose an eye/finger, or hurt someone else. phew! stupid.

  • If you buy $10 including postage that'll make it $20. $2 each not bad. My LBS sells for $2.50. Cheapest I've asked around is $2.

Protip 1: If you're inflating your tubes on the side of the road with these - deflate the tube and re-inflate with normal air once you get home. CO2 leaks through rubber quickly.

Protip 2: Screw the inflater onto the valve before connecting the canister.

Protip 3: 16g of CO2 is slightly too much for a 700x23 tyre.

    Anyway…

Protip 4: What the hell is wrong with people that they can't use a pump any more?

If you're racing, by the time you've fixed a flat (and inflated it with a CO2 cartridge that you'll probably leave beside the road because you're lazy), you're not racing any more. The few seconds you've saved don't really count. Unless you have a team car with spare wheels, a flat will put you out of the race. Deal with it.

If you're not racing, if your friends are going to wait around long enough for you to fix a flat, they'll wait around long enough for you to inflate your tyre. If they're not going to wait that long, you need better friends… and besides, they weren't going to wait around long enough for you to fix your flat and CO2 your tyre anyway.

A decent pump (I'm talking something like a Roadmorph) can do 120 psi, and doesn't weigh any more than a couple of cartridges and an inflater head anyway. Strap it to your frame and forget it's there for the 99% of rides when you don't get a flat.

Seriously, this CO2 thing is one of the saddest, most ridiculous fads ever to hit cycling. You don't need to add an expensive little steel cartridge to landfill (or leave it in the gutter) every time you get a flat and are too goddamn lazy to pump up your tyre. Ugh.

      • do you drive a car?

if you do - why? surely you could walk instead…

by walking you will save mother earth greenhouse gas emissions. I mean a decent set of shoes can do 100's of kilometres. Why drive a car, when if you left for work at 5am you'd be there by 8am. Or are you too goddamn lazy to walk everywhere. Ugh

        • Actually - I finally got rid of my car about a year ago, because I didn't use it.

Now I rent a car on the odd occasion I need to go somewhere or carry something that's not practical by bike or public transport.

Do you drive a car on trips that you could do by bike or foot? If you do, why?

      • +1

What about riding in a group who you are unfamiliar with, If your lucky they might stop for a bit, But some people might get frustrated if you sit there for 5 minutes trying to push 120 psi…

        • If you're getting flats often enough that this is an issue to you, you need to get more durable tyres or learn to watch what you're riding over.
If you're getting flats that often, people are going to get frustrated with you futzing around changing tubes anyway.
If you you're unlucky enough to get a puncture, on a group ride with an unfamiliar group, and they're a wanky enough group that they'd ride away while you pump up your tyre, then you can suck it up and ride home by yourself. That should happen so rarely, and be such a vanishingly small possibility, that it hardly rates a thought when deciding whether to pack a pump or a couple of CO2s.
But having a pump on your frame or sticking out of a jersey pocket doesn't look pro… and we all know that looking pro is what it's all about for some people. And that's why they make so much money selling single-shot CO2 cartridges.

    • Yes. If you are female.
