    Tears @Joe Armstrong to shreds

  • Tried the one with microphones, pretty good but expensive!

  • just had a quick look and even though called Encore Essential part of the Essential speakers JBL hasn't cut too many features and is almost identical compared to the normal Encore model. Essential models usually lose a lot more and have a different design.

Encore essential has the same BT 5.1, still supports the app and can still pair together multiple speakers, still has aux input and USB port for powerbank mode. same power and loudness as well.
they were even thoughtful enough to include a mic input on the Essential (normal Encore doesn't have one because it comes with the wireless mics).

so what are you losing by paying less for the Essential? they give you only 60% of the Encore's battery capacity. and obviously no wireless mics which you don't need if just playing music anyway.

You are losing the most important part ! The echo knob for Karaoke !

      • sorry I’m clearly not a good singer (or expert at karaoke).

good for you to point out though I didn’t notice that difference of echo knob.

but tbh I thought most people buy Bluetooth speakers to play music and not sing 🎤 ‘maybe I am wrong but I personally don’t really pay attention to karaoke features. 💁‍♀️
