Got an email from Jetstar for another reduction on domestic flights. I've been trying to book Gold Coast tickets for February, got to get my friends to hurry up and make their minds up!
5 Feb - 20 Mar, 2013 or 7 May - 19 Jun, 2013 travel (just noticed there were other travel dates, please check link for more info)
Sale mostly on the early or late flights.
I think that's the same for all cheap airlines though, you get what you pay for. Had the same-ish ordeal with Virgin to Queenstown last year and still have credit that I need to use by May…. So this deal is only for my friends while I need to get $138 return tickets from Virgin :(

Qantas is just as bad. The best non premium airline, flying in and out of Oz, is Air Asia.
Could not agree more talismansa they have used this same excuse for me the last 4/6 times I flew with them jetstar is up there with tiget possibly worse

We flew from Brisbane to Sydney twice in approx 5 weeks. We were scheduled to fly out on Friday night on both times.
First, we flew with Jetstar. They boarded us late, on an aircraft which they later said was faulty. After a long wait on the plane, we were told to get off and wait on the tarmac for another plane. We finally boarded another plane and arrived in Sydney just after curfew (11.15pm'ish). Jetstar sought and obtained a dispensation to allow us to arrive. We were two hours late, and not happy.
Second, we flew with Virgin. We waited around in the domestic terminal, and kept getting informed that the flight had been delayed due to "crewing". Time passed until over an hour passed from our scheduled departure. Estimated arrival time changed to after 11.00pm (being curfew). Eventually, Virgin announces to the gate that the flight was cancelled due to "weather". We were told to collect our bags, and that Virgin would put us on the next flight out of Brisbane Saturday morning, and that Virgin would not pay for our cabs to & from the airport (necessitated due to the cancellation).
Needless to say, I would rather have the Jetstar experience rather than the dismal experience with Virgin.

Perfect have a wedding to attend in Launceston in March…will avoid risk and fly over a few days early
that's a bit counter productive, the cost of accomo would equate to using a more reliable airline

I didn't have any problems when I flew with them this year.
Same. I always use the price beat guarantee and fly return Perth > Bali 3-4 times a year. Never had a delay or cancelled flight.
maybe because you pump them full of dolla dolla they choose to re-route some other poor sap
when there's no sales on, a flight from Perth to Bali is usually cheaper than a flight from Perth to Sydney or Melbourne.
Good bargain price for a sector I want next May but unfortunately I can't finalise my date yet. :(
From my experience, Jetstar can't finalise their dates either.
Anyone know how long the sale will last? I need to confirm some dates this evening before booking, I assume it will still be on sale tonight.
Says 20/11/12 on the right side of the travel dates. I hope my friends decide whether they can go before then…

Never had any bad experiences with tiger or scoot. Thank god! I once got delayed 6 hours for a Sydney-Melbourne flight. Nearly missed my international flight. Full priced airlines f up too. Not to mention the countless damn delays I got from British airways too.
hmm now all i need is VIP passes to the theme parks and some holiday accommodation… cant seem to find any all appears to be booked out…
There's VIP passes? Is there VIP for Wet "n" Wild or dreamworld? I use http://www.booking.com/ for my bookings, seems good.
Oh, I see they are the triple pass. I just found out they are making Wet n Wild in Sydney (opening post Dec '13). I will just get the Dreamworld pass for my GC trip in March :)

Long time read first time poster. I noticed OP said this is mostly for late/early flights, but I've found it to be generally the more middle of the day flights. Also found that some flights were cheaper OUTSIDE this date period. e.g. I can book a flight Friday 1st of Feb Gold Coast > Melbourne for $59 (6am) whereas it's $65 during the period. Though great bargain for middle of the day flights during the time period. Will be my first time in QLD :)

anyone know of good travel insurance that will cover if we miss a plane they move the flights - something happens with accomidation etc?
Not gonna neg the deal, but people need to understand that Jetstar is just a horrible airline.
They use "concerns for your safety" as excuses for their incompetence to change and cancel flights. Was suppose to fly to Cairns direct from Sydney, but they cancelled that and made me have a 2 hour layover in Gold Coast. Of course this means I have to change my bookings. 2 days later they changed it again and made me have a 5 hour layover, so I had to change my plans again!
On the day of departure, they delayed all flights by 2 hours! All plans were thrown out the window.
Seriously, how much of a fk up is this airline?
