Bought them before. VERY sharp and long lasting indeed. I am still using the first one after cutting many small trees and branches. Don't know why the price here is so dear.

    • I find the K-Mart bread knife can cut through some particle wood pretty well, if you apply enough pressure.

  • +10

I mean this is a bargain, but I only paid $44 for the saw…

    • +16

Cheap tools are massively improved by expensive blades, much more so than expensive tools with mid blades.

      • +2

I wish I could upvote your comment twice :)
I purchased the Ozito circular saw when it was on special and I purchased a Diablo blade for it that cost more then the saw. But the performance is so much more better than with the cheap included blade.

      • +2

This. As an apprentice, it was drummed into us to buy the best tools you could afford. If your budget is tight, buy quality hand tools and cheap power tools - using good blades and drills.

      • +2

Doesn't seem as red as the one in this deal.

      • +1

Good work sharing a completely different product

      • +1

That's a ground blade, not carbide tipped. It'll do the job initially but will blunt very quickly. Okay if you've got a small, one off job to do but useless for longevity.

    • If you had any experience with a reciprocating saw you would realise it's all about the blade

  • +5

Once you go carbide tipped you never go back (seriously).

  • Dang OP that's a good deal. Wish I could find anything even vaguely comparable for the 12" carbide blades. My Makita plus Diablo blades have all but replaced my chainsaw for sheer convenience and handiness.

    • +2

Yeah for cutting trees the safety associated to a reciprocating saw can't be beaten. The average Joe should not be buying a chainsaw

  • will this fit onto the pruning saw?

  • -2

I couldn't recall Diablo used blades?

  • Thanks mate. Looking at cutting up above ground roots. Seen YouTube videos saying these are the blades to get. Legend

  • hmmm almost cost as much as my saw….

  • Legend! Thanks

  • Fantastic price! Thanks OP.

Diablo 2 ladder reset today, great find

  • Thanks, ordered! Love Diablo blades, they just last so much longer than anything else and take the abuse.

  • Phew! Got the second last one. Thanks OP!

  • +1

OOS, bugga too as I love making a mess of things with a recipro.

  • They are on backorder now

  • +1

Are these blades compatible with the $44 ozito's?

    • Hahaha came here to ask this

    • +2

      Yes

    • I was wondering if they work with Bosch. Turns out Bosch owns Freud/Diablo. I am pretty sure these are universal fit though.

  • Can these be used to cut a nail or two stuck in timber. Or should you get a dedicated metal cutting blade?

    • They're made specifically for this purpose

    • Yeah timber with occasional nail.

It actually says it on the packaging.

      • Thanks all!!

an alternative if you missed out is this:

5 blades, both 9" and 6", metal and wood, for $66.36 - US import though

    When will I learn.

    Order first, think second!

    • +1

Now you only need a reciprocating saw on sale!

    • especially with Amazon. it's easy to cancel.

  • Diablo III

  • +1

As someone who uses these a lot, I can totally recommend them - especially at this price. Don't muck about - get these.

My Milwaukee M18 Sawzall with one of these always gets the job done.

  • +2

These are the best blades in the market and long lasting! Dont even blink at these prices for 3 blades.

It cuts my woods above ground and below (root removal). Demo my fence joints like butter. I was lucky enough to get these cheaply when i was travelling in US.

  • Good price, I would've bought a whole bunch if I didn't miss it.

  • +2

projectfarm says lenox are the best from his test but diablo's are great especially at this price. I wish I didnt miss out :(

    • I love Project Farm, now I gotta go find that video :)

      • He has a few but I think this is one that compares the above blades ie demolition blades. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68LNhd-02ds
Basically if its clean wood, the diablo will cut faster but any nails in it and Lenox will last much longer.

Seems like half the people excited commenting don't realise these are not pruning blades… These are for nail embedded timber not pruning.

    • +1

      Any recommended pruning blades?

      • +3

        The Diablo pruning blades
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=Diablo+…

You'll notice a mark called TPI and thats teeth per inch you'll notice pruning blades have a lot less

        https://www.bunnings.com.au/diablo-9-fleam-ground-reciprocat…
Looks to be the one that I've been using for many years mine could be the 12 inch version though

I would only go for the extra length if you need it but those of the ones you're looking for if you're going to be pruning

The ones advertised above are for demo jobs

      • +2

I wanted to get a stump out this week and bought these Kango ones.
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/kango-9-5-tpi-pruning-reciprocat…

They did the job and it'll be good to compare to the diablo pruning one when it goes on sale eventually. But really 5 blades will probably be able to get all the stumps out that I need :)

        • Yeah I probably should have mentioned in my original comment any proper pruning blades not just Diablo will be pretty awesome and aggressive towards most things you're trying to cut. Just having a peek that looks like a great pack and a really good price.
I'd love to get one of the Diablo pruning carbide tipped saw blades but they cost like the same price as that pack and it's always better to have multiple blades in case you hit a material that hurts the teeth.

I'm definitely keen to try the Diablo carbide tipped pruning blades if they ever come on sale they look extremely aggressive

  • weird question but what would you use to cut through steel belted tyres

    • steel blades, id imagine these are too coarse

  • Thanks OP - 1 just came up again and I bought it. Hopefully better than default Dewalt ones

  • Yep one left when I just looked. So I scored as well

  • Damn missed it! Hope more stock comes on.

  • Ohh bugger. Missed. These are excellent blades!

  • If anyone doesn't need 3 blades, I would be grateful to share the cost and take one blade off you. Melb based.
