    But can it run Crysis?

    • Yes

      • Solid 60fps on 720p low settings. 🤣

        • +1

          Still better than Nintendo Switch

The value on these things are so awesome. Sure you can't have a gpu on there (without the crappy eGPU route), but otherwise so good.

  • When I booted my PC yesterday it was trying to get me all excited about Windows 11 whilst telling me that my i5-4690K was incompatible. This seems like a pretty sweet deal.

Windows 11 is basically an ad platform. I’m avoiding it all costs at this point.

      • It's pretty easy to turn off the gunk and have it look like Windows 10. I don't notice the difference between 10 and 11 (I use one for work, one for home) except that the rounded windows look nicer and 11 is a little snappier.

It's ridiculous that Microsoft release products that way, but at least it's not too painful to bring it back to something useful. Particularly once support runs out.

        • there is no print shortcut on the top left in explorer in windows 11.
And windows 11 suppose to run android app , but somehow MS will give it up in 2025. MS is giving up on the only benefit on windows 11…

    • Windows 11 is basically alright. Windows 10 is EOL on 14 October 2025, so this deal is pretty perfect for those who just need a basic machine.

      • +2

Wouldn't be surprised if they extend it past that date given the low 11 take up.

        • I have my doubts, but anything is possible.

      • Still over a year away, by then you could probably get this for half as much.

  • It looks like this doesn't come with WiFi

  • How would this go as a emulation machine? Is it possible to add onboard graphics to these?

    • It's already got onboard graphics built into the CPU.

I think you are confusing the terminology with a dedicated GPU - and the answer is no because it's far too small.

You could look at a SFF desktop and add a low profile GPU, but those tend to be more costly than a full height card.

      • Yeh got caught in two questions why going to ask if the onboard could handle or or if a discreet GPU could be added but blended the two together haha.

  • Hey OP - I am looking to replace my NUC with something I can use as a WFH PC, which the most heavy usage is some pretty large excel spreadsheets and quite a few formulas.
I'd also use it for downloading and editing images in Lightroom (no Photoshop).

Can you suggest a PC on your site?

    • This one is completely fit for purpose for what you describe.

  • +2

Better off getting this deal for $50 less and the non gipped processor. + Wifi

  • Love the i5-10500T for home lab. Great Proxmox device and low power. I have 2 x 500GB SSDs and 32GB RAM in the HP equivalent, idles around 5w.

    • what can Proxmox do for home? VM ?

  • +1

    Does the USB-C transmit video?

    • +1

      No

      • Is there something similar you would recommend that would be compatible with a USB-C docking station?

  • +1

    Why so expensive?……

    • +2

I think this price is pretty fair. More recent chip than most refurbs, Win 11 etc.

      • Check FB Marketplace, it seems a bit steep to me.

        • +3

I guess.. here you at least get a 6 month warranty and don't have to deal with marketplace morons.

  • Can I upgrade it by adding graphic card?

    • +1

Not without a hacksaw. This thing is tiny.

    • @GloveBear, I am not sure of M70Q, may be you can look into Lenovo P340 Tiny model, same size as M70Q but it might have options to upgrade and also uses a 130w or 230w power adapter (can't remember exactly) which can cater higher power demand. I bought a P340 and it came with Nvidia Quadro P620 2gb grpahics card as add-on.

      • Thank you very much

  • I need a system like this but with 2 NIC's. Seems like a unicorn that doesn't exist.

    • do the N100 mini PCs not work for you? there have been some posted here with dual LAN

    • You can add a second NIC into the HP equivalent ProDesk and EliteDesk.

    • +2

@butter you can just add the second wired NIC to the PCIe WiFi slot.

I use this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005686418462.html in a Dell Micro Optiplex 3050 - the network socket fits perfectly into the VGA-blanking plate on the back, but even if it didn't mount cleanly then you can just dangle it out of the case.

Stick to the Dells because they don't do any blacklisting of PCIe devices.

  • Any one bought this already ? does it has a caddy / cable for extra 2.5 drive?
    Many thanks

  • I suspect the deal is expired, site is showing 499…
