Thats the shittest OLED ive seen for colour, nits brightness and certifications.

But its still OLED for under $900 so that aint bad

Not when the much superior Alienware can be had for $1030 on sale https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/846431, 120hz more and much better hdr and sdr brightness

      • exactly, better to wait for the AW to go on sale again for that small price difference.

      This product is rubbish.

      • Why do you say that?

    • The colour coverage is good, but 150 nits. Yeah…

  • +1

Need these to be around 600 before I bite I think. esp as a modern IPS is pretty good already.

    • -1

An IPS monitor with anything approaching the HDR capability of an OLED is double the price though.

      • -1

This OLED monitor has only 450nits peak brightness (150 nits typical, wtf?) and HDR10… you can get heaps of IPS monitors around $900 that will do HDR600 or HDR1000.

        • -1

No point blasting 1000nits if you're raising the brightness of black with it. It's about contrast. IPS needs a very expensive MiniLED backlight to compete.

          • +1

@tp0: At $900 for an IPS monitor, you’re definitely getting a miniLED backlit panel for that price, e.g. here

MiniLED backlit monitors start at $500 for VA panels, not as expensive as you make them out to be.

This is an awful OLED monitor and just the panel type is never going to save it from its other panel flaws

            • @brosk1s: After the $990 price cut. Wonder what forced them to do that?

              • @tp0: Are we on OzBargain or OZScorptecRRP?

The AW3423DW launched at $2099 but down the line the very similar AW3423DWF can be had for $1171. $928 discount, must be a shit monitor right because of the large discount?

  • 27 is too small for me :P

    • +2

I remember when 17" 4:3 was considered big

    • I moved from 27 to 24 for higher pixel density. Too uses to nice crisp text on my laptop and phone now and 27 qhd looks a bit fuzzy

      • You have a 24" qhd?

        • Yep AOC Q24G2A 165hz
