dont understand how this would work as any charges (e.g. guests) would be applied to the westpac card. Inadvertently got charged - guest fees depends on lounge! First time - 2 pax, used 1 visit, guest was free. 2nd visit, guest was not free :S. Some lounge has free guests so you can use this as 2 visits (instead of 1 visit with 2 pax)

    • Just signed up successfully using my closed Westpac altitude black Qantas card. On my app it shows I have no annual fee + 2 visits available.

Will just need to be careful to make sure I don't incur any charges which would be put onto the (now cancelled) card as it won't be worth the potential hassle it'll cause.

      • yes i know, but im just saying - any charges you DO (carelessly) incur will be put on the now (cancelled) card as you mentioned. be curious to understand how that would work if that happens.. The charges isn't even immediate, took a week for the charges to show up - they do not swipe your cc at lounge entry.

  • Just tried with a altitude platinum and no luck. says enter valid card number. RIP :"(

  • Does anyone know if these lounges in Tom Bradly terminal in LAX?

  • Can you bring dependent children for free? Or have to pay $35 extra?

    • It depends on the lounge (some might be free under 2 or under 5 etc). Always best to ask the question.

Not shitting on this deal but priority pass is pretty useless these days, considering how overfull airports are. Have tried to get into these lounges on several occasions and can't get in as they are full. YMMV of course.

    • Which parts of the world if I may ask?

    • pretty subjective depending on where and which lounge. I used this in HK for a layover and it was brilliant. lounges was very nice and very empty with plenty of room - just watch out for 'guest' fees which I have learnt the hard way depends on the lounge.

    • It depends where you travel. A lot of people find it hard to use in North America, however if you do most of your travel in Asia then you should have no issues getting in and will find a variety of options at the major airports (especially Bangkok which has more than a dozen PP lounges to check out).

  • My rant about them is that couple of months ago we were doing a stop over in Singapore and thought we could use the priority pass. Went to the counter and was told “sorry, there’s no membership linked to your account”, suggested I call up the Priority Pass (side note, they don’t have a local number in Australia)

Called them up and was told that my membership had expired over 3 years ago. Said how is that possible when we’ve used it multiple times (used it in December last year). They couldn’t explain it.. dumb asses

Never understood the hype about lounges. I have PP through Citi and rarely set foot inside a lounge. But have raided multiple cafes per visit.

Even the worst cafe food is better than the best lounge food, IMO.

    • +3

Yeah, the main benefit of lounges is almost never the food (except high end, a la carte places, or the Silverkris buffet etc). The benefits are quiet and comfortable spaces, showers, and limitless booze.

    • Airport lounges are excellent for
      - hot shower especially at transit airport after 10hr flight or just got off from work and about to catch an international flight at midnight.
      - a quiet place to close eyes to rest . The chairs are much comfy than outside
      - catchup last minute discussion with your colleagues if the trip is work related
      - food & beverage. May be subjective to taste but they’re free especially you are paying for your flight and trying to keep cost low.

  • I just signed up with Westpac Qantas Black cancelled in 2023 and it still works! thanks Bomba!

    • Did you still have the card or how did you get the card number?

      • Yes I still had the card in my card graveyard

  • I have real unlimited through Citi Prestige + fake unlimited through AMEX Plat so I gave this to my friend and it works. Thanks OP!

Used this a few times at Changi for transfer - Plaza Premium Lounge, and Aerotel outdoor swimming pool. Both were excellent.

    • Wasn't aware you could use the visit to access the pool…that's great.

So I have both the Westpac Qantas Black & AMEX platty. What do I do with this.

    • I'm not sure why this was downvotes (perhaps because this was already answered earlier).

tldr; it's worth activating both - Westpac PP can be used on restaurants (2 visits per year), while Amex PP can be used for (unlimited) lounge access

  • Hmm myself and someone else entered a lounge in August, just checked the app and it says I still have 1 remaining complimentary visit. Should it say 2 and say I have none left, or is it 2 visits for both yourself and someone else per year, which in that case 1 would be correct?

    • +1

Happened to me back when I used my lounge entitlements 2 years ago too. I received 2 lounge passes from my old Citi credit card, and myself and my partner used them to get into the lounge, but afterwards it said that I still had 1 pass remaining.

So initially my thought was similar to you, that 1 pass = 1 visit for me and someone else. However, with that understanding, we tried to use the remaining 1 pass to enter a lounge again, and my credit card got charged for an extra person, which meant that I used up the remaining 1 pass, and they charged the entrance fee for my partner.

So now I'm not entirely sure how their lounge entitlement works.

      • Oof thats rough. Thanks for the heads up

      • Are you sure they didn’t charge you for the guest? I did the same with 2 visits available but when I left still showed 1 and only later did I realise they charged for the guest.

    • +1

Staff might have been nice and just used one visit instead of two. But usually it's meant to be each person = 1 visit

  • thanks op, worked for westpac velocity black card altitude card

  • I get these twice a year through my free Citibank card. Can be hit and miss, just went to one in Osaka was worst lounge I’ve ever visited. 1 sandwich , no choice, was looking forward to a shower when I asked they just laughed, didn’t even have toilets.

  • I have altitude platinum MasterCard, am I eligible?

  • Successfully signed up. My card expires in 2028, and I will be cancelling it later this year to avoid future annual fees. Will my membership still work until 2028 (two free visits per year)? I will keep the cancelled card in my passport wallet just in case.

    • +1

I've used it after card was cancelled.

  • Wow I have had this "perk" for over 12 years. Back then it was rubbish and next to useless. You could only enter random second rate lounges and barely visited locales. Sounds like it is a lot better now! Will check out!

  • +1

Not sure why this gets a separate deal, it's just part of the perks of the card, similar to AMEX Platinum etc. Also the David Jones card is free and gives you this + 2 free passes.

  • Great stuff - I can use it for $36 of value at Stomping Ground at Melbourne Airport. Free beer!

  • Westpac credit card application robot is sexist.

Gave my partner on same wage as me and same outgoings but with a car loan a credit card but denied me one and I have no personal debt or loans.

NAB happily gave me one so out of spite balance transfered them to Bankwest offer.

  • awesome deal. thank you so much.

    Got 1 :-p

    Your membership plan includes:
2 inclusive member and accompanying guest visits in each membership year (each person uses one inclusive visit). Any additional member or guest visits will be charged directly to the payment card associated with your account at a rate of US$35 per person per visit.
Your membership refreshes 05 Jun 2028

  • Isn't it unlimited with HSBC cards

  • Does anyone know how to keep using the same Priority Pass account without creating a new one? I originally signed up through Citi Premier, but now I have a Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard and want to link it to my existing account.
