Really cheap price on this WiFi 6 router from Xiaomi and possibly the cheapest AX3000 router around. If you're not confident in using Xiaomi's firmware you can install OpenWrt on it instead.

This one features all the essentials including both 2.4GHz (574Mbps) and 5GHz (2402Mbps) with a combined speed of up to 3000Mbps, 4 antennas and 4 Gigabit LAN/WAN ports. It supports Mesh functionality with other Xiaomi mesh compatible routers and NFC easy pairing for Android phones. More info on Xiaomi's website.

The cheapest variant on the listing is the one with the US plug, while AU plug variant uses a converter. I believe the power adapter is 12V/4A and uses a 4.0mm x 1.7mm DC barrel plug.

  • Add "Color: add AU adapter" to the cart
  • Apply the coupon 24SS04 or SS4 at checkout

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive, further US$0.59 with AliExpress Coins and stacks with cashback.

How to get the AU$ price in the title with PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

    • How did you install the webgui?

      • I just googled "web gui for openwrt" and found it is called LuCI , and installed by "# opkg install luci " as replied to harryozz above.

        • oh okay, thanks!

          • @dishkiaon: I wish everything turned out that easy in openwrt! It is a bit daunting.

            • @bargaino: i know lol, i did properly install openwrt, but could not install luci as i could either connect it to the modem or to the pc (and i did not see any wifi after I installed openwrt), so I ended up returning it yesterday :(

              • +1

                @dishkiaon: A pity. For others,
once you have installed openwrt, you should be able to connect the WAN port (close to power supply) to your modem or NBN, and your PC to another port. Then you can SSH in and install the GUI.

You will not see any wifi until you configure it over ethernet.

              • @dishkiaon: How did you do the return? If you select change of mind, Wil they make you cover the overseas return shipping? Thank you

                • +1

@Zelda: No, apparently first return for that order was free and it gave me a free auspost return label. Idk if it was a Choice order, or maybe an Aliexpress seller? I seem to be getting free refunds for almost ALL of my orders (without even returning or sending back the items), but probably the first time that I had to send this item back (even though it was free so that's okay).

                  Maybe @Clear elaborate!

  • For those like me who were thinking to use it with TV , better option is just to buy fire stick max from the amazon sale and install wireguard

  • For anyone still interested, this router seems to still be hanging around the $55 AUD mark, which is soon cheap for an AX3000 device.

Not OzBargain cheap, but regular cheap.
