  • Can't work out promo for late Dec. May be excluded?

    • Obviously excluded

specials on school holidays… ya dreaming

  • Booked for 8 nights for $400pp, very happy with that! Have been on P&O and Royal Caribbean before, no complaints. Wouldn't say Royal Caribbean was significantly better than P&O, but maybe it comes down to expectations.

    • what dates?

      • Departing 23 June 2025 from Sydney

        • $800 for 8 nites? Cheap!

I booked this same cruise! though with an upgrade to a balcony cabin for a total of $2200 ish.

          • @jcguy7: Good choice! Probably a wise investment.

Was considering an upgrade but I'm not expecting to spend much time in the room.

@jcguy7: you guys should meet up and the do the first ozbargain live on a cruise ship

    • 4 adults or 2 adults 2 kids?

      • Looks like kids and adults are the same price, I booked three adults and one child. Four adults comes up the same, actually $1500 but I paid $88 extra to be mid-ship.

        • oh I wasn't concerned about the price it was more like if there was 4 adults that were not all family…. it could be interesting

          • @Poor Ass: It would definitely need to be four people who are comfortable sharing a very small space :) We're two parents and children so not too much of an issue there. No need to spend much time in the room though, other than sleeping (assuming no covid/gastro outbreaks).

            • @larndis: Who's the third adult?

              • @Poor Ass: Just my teenage son, I think they're only considered 'kids' up to 12 or something

Whatever combo you prefer with a minimum 1 adult.

But just be aware 4 adults in a cabin can be squeezy, plus the bathroom is also small (and if someone takes time in there, nobody else can really use it).

        • why ya telling me I'm on Elite Tier and know the go

  • How come 57% of Australian cruisers are from NSW but only 10% from Victoria? Why don't more Victorians go on cruises?

Maybe something to do with permits and taxes

      Less bogans in Melbourne ?

      • I feel like the bogans add something special… nothing quite like watching the oldies suck back a fag at 6am outside the food court.
To be fair the people are happy and enjoying themselves so it’s a good atmosphere

More cruises departs from Sydney than Melbourne.

food was good imo. expecting restuarant or cafe quality all the time is not realistic considering they are serving close to 2000 buffet customers. I think they do get close. My ship (pacfic encounter in jan 24) had Mexican with freshly made soft tortillas. Indian and Chinese was also surprising and authentic. Would generally go to Waterfront restuarant as quality was a bit higher

    • Waterfront was actually restaurant level, so well done to them I’d say.

  • We just booked via flybuy travel, same price and get x10 flybuy points

    • Where does it say 10x points? I can only see 1$ spent = 1 point

i asked them in the chat & being told I will get that 7700 points ($770 cruise)

The food was quite nice in my opinion, although the restaurants are 100% better than the pantry.

I am searching for a round trip from Sydney to New Zealand for four people. The search results indicate $1500 per person, but in the final payment summary, it shows $6000 total with $3000 per person and the third and fourth passengers are free. I am unsure about the discrepancy here. It seems like a standard price to me.

    • +2

Yeah I think you're right, although it says it's part of the promotion it doesn't seem to be applying to that cruise, at least not for the cheaper cabins (works for balcony). Could be worth contacting P&O to see if they can help.

Thanks for the deal, just booked our first cruise trip with 2 kids.

congratulations, as soon as you get home you are already going to be booking your next cruise. :)
your children will make sure of it, lol.

      • Haha yeah agree after all the fun :)

that's what happened to me, and now we go twice a year at least during school holidays.

i guess its a great incentive and motivation for them. i tell them we aren't going on a cruise if they don't get straight A's. im ok with B's, but i won't tell them that, lol. they actually worked hard to get all A's, so we continue to go on cruises.

they get to have fun, i get to relax, win win all around. lol

          • @Hugh G Rection: Very good idea something I will also consider to motivate the kids :)

  • Im trying to book for three in the new guinea cruise but no matter what dates i choose it only offers me an interior room. Weird.
