Battlefield 3 Premium Edition for 250 Mexican Pesos (about $18.44 Australian)

80

I was following Sticky's very helpful guide at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72792

It seems as though the Mexican site has the premium edition for 250 pesos, 50% off.

I used the following proxy server but have no idea how secure it is or whether Mr Sanchez is currently drinking Coronas and kanoodling with senoritas at my expense. So buyer beware:-

  • Actually, I wonder whether you actually need to use a proxy or whether you can just use the direct link:-

    • yes, it will redirect me to origin AU homepage with that link

      • Weird, I can access it even with foxyproxy turned off - must be a cookie I guess.

      Why don't we use both?

  • BTW, the box cover image that shows up in my origin account says "Battlefield 3 Limited Edition". The email from Origin however says I have ordered Battlefield 3 premium, although it only gives me the one cd-key for Limited Edition. I don't know yet if that is significant or not.

Just note that this is Premium (according to the previous post) and not Premium Edition. There is a difference between the two- Premium Edition includes the base BF3 game, while Premium doesn't.

Just thought I'd point that out to people who are after a cheap copy of BF3.

    • I should clarify - the email says Battlefield 3 premium edition, not premium. My apologies, I did not think that there was a distinction between the two.

This definitely includes the base game.

DAMN! Im all out of pesos. bugger

I have to say my first impression is BF3 is very COD-ish and very much unlike Bad Company 2.

    • Negged, it's not like CoD at all…

Coming from someone who has got 500+ hours gameplay.

Although the Close quarters expansion is an exception (to some extent)

      • -7

Negged you back. I've got 600+ hours on BC2, so my bare assertions outrank yours.

        • +5

So? You haven't even played BF3, they are different games.

And i have 605 hours, lol. On bf3. That outweighs an impression.

If you're telling me that you can run around with a knife on BF3, with no teamwork, behind the enemy line, and come first in the game with 50+kills, then, you are retarded.

But, with CQ, i think it's too cod like. The game in general is not though.

EDIT: if you negged me because it's not like BC2, then fair enough, but that wasn't my argument and I never said it wasn't…

        • how about putting more time into bf3 and adjusting to it rather than whining about it not suiting your bc2 style.

  • No time for siesta!

  • i cant get the link to work using foxyproxy :(
never mind got it to work.

  • I tried buying it, but it keeps saying at checkout:

You have already purchased this item. Removes the item to continue the purchase process.

    • +1

maybe because you are trying to bbuy the premium including the base game and you already have it.
      try this link

      • Has anyone purchased just the premium addon using this? the payment page asks for a address (its all in Spanish too)

      • I just couldn't justify the risk to be honest. If they accepted PayPal payments it would be sweet. But putting CC details over a dodgy proxy :S Anyone know of an OK VPN service with Mexican servers?

  • I am trying to buy it now. Under customer details where you choose your country, Australia isnt there. Azerbaijan is… Ok can someone advise what i should do?

    • Follow Sticky's guide. He says to just choose Mexico, which is what I did.

  • You can also pickup Sims 3 Seasons expansion pack for about $30 using this method as opposed to $39.99 on EA Australia or $49 at JB HiFi

  • Just a typo in your post. The proxy should be "201.150.2.169:8080".. you missed the 1

  • Not sure why but I keep getting redirected to the AU store. Can someone give some more detailed instructions behind foxyproxy?

    • Google the details for a mexican proxy. You will need both the ip address and the port.

Add those details to foxyproxy (add proxy). Once you have done that, go to the dropdown at the top of foxyproxy and select use (that proxy ip address you added:port) for all URLs.

Once that is done, attempt to navigate to the ea store. You might have to try quite a few proxies before you find one that will actually work.

  • Bought this two months ago. I thought $36 was a good price. :(

  • Steps to getting it.
(this is how i figured it out)
Step 1. get chrome on your pc.
step 2. go to chrome store and type in proxy.
step 3. grab foxy proxy (4/5 stars rated)and install it.
step 4. go to http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy-list/search-225671 and copy ip address and port of one of the proxies below.
step 5. open foxyproxy from chrome apps, then add proxy and put in the ip address and port.
step 6. go to the top and set proxy mode to [use proxy (the one you found)to all urls]
step 7. go to origin website

  • Getting nervous, I bought it about 5 minutes ago but it doesn't show up in my order history or when I log into the Origin client (but I have been charged on my cc)? Was there a delay for other people?

    • I presume all has been taken care of now. It probably took a few minutes to arrive for me too.

  • expired?

    • I dont know. If it comes up as being 500 pesos rather than 250, then yes.
