    T3i = 600D

  • why the hell would i want a 55-250 AND a 70-300?

So you look like a legend. You should also get that coffee cup that looks like a lens. That is so cool.

    • +1

noob. one is a is lens.

    • +2

So you can shoot at 56mm and 251mm duh

  • -6

It does seem like overkill to carry two overlapping long zooms.

  • lol at the negs

again, in what situation would you need to change from a one middling slow lens to another? to access IS? why do you need the non IS lens then?

    makes no sense

you could sell it on ebay i suppose

Your question will make sense if one is a 55-250mm IS and one is 55-250mm non IS but the lenses for this bargain has different focus lengths

      • you'll realise that 55mm vs. 70mm is nothing at all and often just a few footsteps either way…

        and 250 to 300m at f5.6? enjoy that CA…

        • sometimes that few foot steps may mean that you are already inside the lion's fence.

either way, the non IS lens isn't meant for swapping 'on the go' if anyone had been doing photography for a decent time… it's meant to go with a tripod. The IS lens is more for a 'walkabout'.. but even then I would prefer to trade it for a 18-200mm IS (that is a more decent kit lens) for more versatility.

The 70-300 can be a seriously good tool if you couple with a 2x extender.

  • IMO, anyone who has a justification for carrying two long zoom lenses isn't going to be carrying two cheap/kit lenses…

  • I suppose you can sell either a 55-250mm IS or a 55-250mm non IS for ~$250 locally, ending the whole thing 600D + two kit lenses ~$380.
It is a really good deal. inho.

    • Typical selling price in eBay would net you around $110 after fees

      • They are $300 new at bhphoto.com.
So, I assume, at least $400 locally.
I cannot imagine that if you place an ad in the local newspaper (which is free) for a new, under warranty (US one but still) one, you stll not gonna get at least $250.
I do not know what they sell on ebay, but my understanding there is a huge difference between coming to someonee's place and having a chance to try stuff on.
After all glass is not as severely depreciated as camera bodies.
