Edit: Be warned this is listed as "1 pack".

Normally about $30 or so for single pack, or ~$50 for the x2 pack.
The next best deal seems to be $22 for a single pack from https://www.ozsmartthings.com.au/products/shelly-1-mini-gen3, so $20 for a x2 pack seems like a good deal if they ship them.

You might need to click through to 'other sellers' and select Amazon AU to see the $20.17 price.

Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 is a WiFi & Bluetooth smart switch relay, 1 channel 8 A Equipped with a new processor & increased flash memory - ESP Shelly and has Improved durability of terminals also used as a WiFi range extender, dry contacts, supports up to 8 A at 240 VAC and 5 A at 30 VDC. The world's smallest relay for smart control. Automate your lights, garage door, irrigation system or other small electronic devices in less than 10 minutes and control them from anywhere.

Edit: Be warned this is listed as a "Size: 1 pack", although the price for the other sellers suggest it is a 2 pack. On the flip side, the x2 pack at $34 has an image for the x1 pack: https://www.amazon.com.au/Shelly-Bluetooth-Automation-Compat… . Might just be an image error - it may require arguing with Amazon to get a 'pricing error' deal.

Edit: Looks like Amazon has removed the $20.07 Amazon AU buying option now. You could still try your luck with the x1 pack image incorrectly listed as the x2 pack.

From amazon.co.uk we can see that

B0CQCHS2QS is the one pack:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shelly-Bluetooth-Automation-Compati…

and B0CQCDPLCF is the two pack:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shelly-Bluetooth-Automation-Compati…

This link is for B0CQCDPLCF, so in theory should be the two pack. But any guess what Amazon will do/send given that it wasn't available at time of order. In any case, they've removed the $20 buying option.

Waiting for the Zigbee version to be available for sale, if they have it.

    • they have/will have zigbee?

I personally prefer wifi-based devices if they're mains powered. I find troubleshooting wifi easier as UniFi makes tasks like channel scans really easy, the correct signal strength will be reported (vs seemingly random LQI numbers depending on brands), changing channels doesn't require re-pairing every single device, and devices like Shelly have a web interface where you can configure a whole bunch of things if needed.

In a larger space like an office I also find it easier to set up PoE APs to create a solid wifi network vs relying on consumer zigbee devices to act as repeaters. I also don't have to pair devices in the final location in case the device sticks with the original paired coordinator or repeater.

If you have main power running through these devices then wifi is the smartest choice, nothing can beat wifi in terms of reliability and performance, zigbee and z wave are just hopeless. And no, it will be a long stretch until you exhaust your network dhcp allocation.

      • These devices also typically sit on the 2.4ghz spectrum, while your laptop and phone etc is on 5ghz. Using a dual band router allows them to run separately.

Shows as "1 pack" under "Size Name"

    • I have a feeling you're probably right.
Seems to be a pricing error. The other sellers for $54 and $74 are also listing it as "1 pack".

You could order this x1 pack that is listed as "2 pack": https://www.amazon.com.au/Shelly-Bluetooth-Automation-Compat…
for $34 and hedge your bets.. just return whichever is the worse deal.

      • You just missed this 2-pack during Prime weekend; it was $29.53.

        • Didn't miss it actually.. but I was also after this non-PM version. Also am hoping to get the 2 pack for $20, but we'll see how it goes.

These are great units, but cost so much to install when you factor in getting an electrician out..

    • What is their usual quote for installing one point?

      • I had a guy come do a bunch of switch rework for $150 or so.. I suspect they just charge ~$150 for a callout, plus $100 or so per extra hour + materials.. Installing these is pretty quick so I suspect you could get all your switches done for $150 or so if you do them all in one hit and already have your neutral wires in place.

      • Can be between $30-$50 from what I've seen. If you're installing these for energy saving and the total unit cost is $80~ it can be hard to justify. For automation purposes I guess that depends how you want to use it.

  • showing $57.55 for me, is it over? Was it ever on?

    • Click 'other sellers'. Be warned this might be the '1 pack' however.

  • Be mindful that to use these as a garage door opener, you need a 240v input to run the Shelly itself, so their wording can be misleading.

Got caught by that with OzSmartThings

    • I think the uni would be more appropriate for that.

      • Shelly 1 Plus actually..

Supports the voltage on the door motor output, and it all hides under the cover when you're done

Why wouldn't you use the Meross Unit since you can wire it yourself?

      • That's fine too - but if you wanted shelly because you wanted to script things like turning on a light when the door opens or have everything in the one app etc there is an advantage to using a shelly device.

        • That’s what the Meross does though. It integrates perfectly with HA.

          • @JSONBourne: That is HA doing that, not the device itself. I am merely suggesting that if you are into the whole shelly scripting of your devices without a dedicated HA system that is a reason you might want to have your garage system be a shelly device too.

    • The non-mini Shelly 1 and Shelly 1 Plus can both be powered off DC 12V and DC 24-48V in addition to AC 240V. I run one that is powered off my garage door 24V DC and the relay switches the PB input

      • Yep, repurposing the Shelly 1 Mini G3's to do something else at some stage, probably putting them into the base of non-smart lamps or something as the restocking fee with OzSmartThings is ridiculous

    These are from Germany, correct?

    Do local electrician install them?

  • I can’t get the pricing you mention anywhere :/

  • Did you guys figure out which one is the right one to automate an old garage door? Shelly 1 Mini or 1 plus? Both say they can deal with garage doors.

I have some ancient thingo https://garagedooropenerremotes.com.au/wp-content/uploads/20…
    GDO-6v3

but it looks like it has all terminals to succeed? Just don't want to electrocute myself…

24V (not fi ltered or regulated) PWR is used to power photo electric beam.
PE (Input) for photo electric beam.
PE (-) is used to power photo electric beam.
GND is used with OSC input or AUX output
O/S/C INPUT is used for the connection of a wired switch (momentary contact). This switch can
then be used to open, stop or close the door. Install the wall switch in a location where the switch
is out of reach of children and the garage door is visible.
AUX (output) can be used to control an alarm system.

  • Anyone actually get there order? mine has just sat as not yet shipped for almost a month now…

Still waiting on stock which will apparently arrive early Oct.. complained a couple times and they've given me $50 credit. I can say that it is almost certainly the 2x pack as reviews from the other 1x image listing suggests they are only getting 1x. Also the pricing from other sellers suggest 2x, plus the code itself is for the 2x pack. It is a listing error on Amazon's part that they are yet to correct.
