  • Is it Australian stock or grey import?
If it's a grey import then this deal is nothing special.

$345 delivered from HK (i think).

    • Having ordered one, the warranty disclaimer in the product details page AND the order confirmation says wait up to 15 days. COTD normally does not take that long in memory, so 2+2 = My bet is this is overseas import.

    Pay $399 for a Nexus 4 instead…

It's ok price for this phone…

Past gen Snapdragon dual core chipset? Hell no…

    • Please enlighten me with where you can get a nexus 4…

  • Depends what you want. Personally I'd rather go for the Nexus 4 too but you can't get them right now. However this price is pretty normal for a Xperia Ion import.

  • Don't forget Unique Mobiles sell Aus stock for $399…Sony Xperia Ion

  • What would people recommend in 4" size? I find 4.6" too big….

(and no, thats NOT what she said :D )

    • The only thing exactly 4" is the iPhone 5.

      • Galaxy S3 mini is a crappy phone. It's not just a shrinked down S3, it's specs are much worse, and so is the screen. It's kind of like the iPad mini.

It's a low end phone that's not worthy of carrying the S3 branding. That's just misleading.

That's actually a very good phone for a very good price.

Except it's COTD, so all good will is lost.

  • For those in Sydney that needs a good look, head to Sony Central at World Square, I went and saw that they have a unit in the drawers, you can ask them to let you play with it.

My impressions were that it feels much thinner than the spec thickness, good weight, beautifully designed IMHO overall (I'm an industrial design graduate by degree) but i'm biased, I like black with square lines.

So impressed by the device at this price it's good value…So yes I gave up on Nexus 4 and pulled the trigger on this.

Down side is that the details about the warranty and order confirmation says wait up to 15 days…it would appear this is COTD selling overseas stock! If i wanted that I would have bought from eBay and paid $5 less for FASTER 5 day guaranteed shipping. Anyway.
