  • In store only, sorry guys first post

  • What's in it exactly?

    • +1

I'd like to know that too. All the descriptions of this set and the other gift set (smaller) are always the same. 3 films and a book.

  • JB have it for a similar price (including the 20% off)

  • I saw this $53 at JB before 20% off.

    • But it was only released today, and JB sale started today.
They have DVD…whatever that is ?

  • I was just at JB Woden ACT, and sales guy confirmed they had none at all.

  • JB Hifi Online only has the DVD version in stock, can anyone confirm if they've begun stocking the blu ray boxset?

    • Yes I dropped by 2 JBs they all have blu ray in stock but only one JB said boxset $53.

  • Sorry which Big W is this?

Thanks for the effort! Skin-toned vertical bar on the left — is that your finger? Looks like you were trying to secretively take this photo :)

      Woden ACT
Yeah, I was struggling as it was at ground level, and I'm not as young as I used to be

  • They had it at JB yesterday at Hobart for (I think) $52.

  • This is from the Mighty Ape website, has some images of the book.

    http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Blu-ray/The-Dark-Knight-T…

  • Amazon has this for $30, but region A/1.

    • Different set, not the same as the one listed here.
Although it looks like it comes with exactly the same things. I wonder if that book is Bluray case size regardless if you get the big set or the small set?

    • or UK for £25.00 preorder don't know how much for shipping.

  • JB had a stack of these at the Macquarie NSW store - $52 or $53 from memory - I was tempted, but have the other movies already.

  • JB online had this for $42.38 on the 17th of nov (when they had there second last 20% off. seeing it was a preorder it didnt have the 20% off)

I bought it and its been delivered but it seems its sold out online hence why you cant find it on the JB online anymore

Wait three months and you'll get it for half that price…

    • +1

Maybe, maybe not. But if you want it today you can get it for this price. Saying a deal isn't good just because it will get cheaper in the future is a poor argument.

      • I didn't say it was good, bad or indifferent, and unlike the twithead trolls around here I didn't feel the need to press any neg button just to give myself an ego trip. I simply stated a fact that has been repeated over and over again on Amazon UK and any number of retailers. If you can wait a very brief period of time you will pay a significant amount less.

Here are some other facts - having the latest greatest thing right now doesn't necessarily make it worth the money you paid for it or necessarily make you happier than waiting for it, but our society is so impulse driven that Hollywood have trained us like monkeys to spend twice as much money just because we must have it now. In fact I have on many occasions (and multiple times in this deal) seen people expressing strong regret that they didn't wait just a little longer to buy whatever it was.

It seems that at least one person below saw some sense in what I was saying…

    • Wait three months and you'll get it for half that price…

This applies to just about any movie, game, CD, computer component etc etc. It's pretty simple: If you want/need it now - buy it now and pay the price. If you can hold of - hold off and save yourself some money. I'd be surprised if not every single Ozbargainer knew this. But thanks for reiterating anyway.

      • Exactly.

If you can wait 2 weeks you'll get this delivered from Amazon UK for about $35 based on their standard price which is currently £25 and releases on Monday.

  • I want to get the trilogy but I don't know whether to just wait til its cheaper. I like the idea of the limited edition set but don't like the size of the box.

    I'm just being fussy :P

    • Agreed. The box is an odd shape that doesn't really fit well on the shelf.

Or you can wait for the Justice League pack because Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing Batman according to rumours.

Cheaper at JB. Just got it from JB Parramatta (George St) for $42.38
Their normal price is $52.98 but they have a 20% off sale bringing it down to lower than Big W's price

    • Just bought a copy from same jb. Still plenty on the shelf.

  • awesome!

  • I bought this yesterday from JB Penrith for $52.

  • You should put 'Blu-Ray' in the title, or description at least.

  • +1

Never buy a box set of a franchise that isn't over. Batman and Robin to come yet!!!

    • Franchise? U need more details on that wording cause its by itself its not going to over anytime soon. However, Nolan himself already stated many times that he won't make any other Batman movie. So if you talking about Batman as TDK by CN, then yes it is over.

  • Is this DVD or Bluray? Can you add it to the title please? I cant see the image because the URL is blocked at work.

    • The picture indicates Blu-Ray

      • -3

I cant see the image because the URL is blocked at work.

        Dude. Read.

        • +1

I wasn't having a go at him, I was telling him what the picture indicated, since he couldn't see it.

'The picture indicates' was necessary, since it's stated nowhere in the description, and there's a lot of talk above of DVD versions, so I can't personally be sure.

Thanks for assuming the worst of me, though.

    • Done :-)

    • Not a chance, Nolan is done with this trilogy.

  • Just bought the bluray version from JBHIFI garden city for $42 with their 20% off sale.
I dun think they have much stock left, so better check the stock before you go.

  • Just went to Big W watergardens. Didnt have it out and was told stock not in. Staff member confirmed price of $44.00 in tomorrows catalogue. I then went to JB watergardens heaps of stock. listed price was $52.98 plus 20% brought it down to $42.38 this is for the bluray limited edition trilogy. I too already have 1st and 2nd movie but for an extra $20.00 thought it was a good deal. they also had the bluray with a figurine for 49.00.

  • Can someone please post a pic of the packaging opened? Is it a BR case inside?

  • I just picked up a copy at Big-W Springfield lakes. It's definitely the blu-ray version. And it's definitely not a pricing error either.

Has anyone else seen any defects with the packaging? I bought one of these yesterday (from Big W in Brisbane), opened it up and one of the disks kept falling out. I had it exchanged today, got home and it was the exact same problem but for a different disk.

  • Not a fan of these 5 disc in 1 box packaging… They should have had all three films in separate bluray cases.

  • Got one at Top Ryde NSW. Thanks!

  • The online price has now been updated to $44.00 with free delivery.

  • -1

I bought this from JB for $35

  • Got it price-matched at my local Big W for $42.38. Funnily enough, the in-store/regular price that was listed on the docket was $54, which is $10 more than what they are selling it for on their website!
