$12 Cashback on Boost 70GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM Starter Pack for $12 Delivered @ Cashrewards

1550

FREE Boost SIM after cashback. Cashrewards hasn't mentioned that the SIM must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable yet. It may be a new Boost term but it hasn't been included in Cashrewards T&Cs at the moment. TA's comment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15597173/redir

Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.

Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number or porting out.

What you need to know

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.
  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.
  • Cashback is ineligible on recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, eSIMs, plans or products not listed in the cashback table of rates, use of codes not listed on Cashrewards, and purchases via the Boost app.
  • You must return and click through Cashrewards for each new transaction.

Boost:

  • 70GB on activation for new customers. 25GB on next recharge. Activate by 21 October 2024.
  • SIM offer ends 19 August 2024.
  • From 22 October 2024, this recharge will increase to $39.

Used the CR app to buy, tracking email received almost instantly.

    Tracked almost immediately with app

Thanks OP instantly tracked through chrome app on Android

  • has anyone ever been successful with the order tracking on Boost mobile? i'm in regional WA, takes 12 days to get the sim card.

    • Several comments here about successful tracking (almost instant) ordering this Boost SIM card from Cashrewards. Mine tracked in 2 minutes this morning.

I've found Cashrewards customer service to be helpful if there are any issues.

I'm in Perth metro and still waiting for a Boost SIM card ordered on 3rd August. Usually also takes about 12 days to reach Perth metro.

      • what about shipping tracking? I can never seem to get the shipping tracking to work, even though Boost mobile uses star track

        • I've heard others mentioned shipping tracking but I've never received the email for shipping tracking. My Boost SIM cards were probably delivered by Australia Post in the bike as they had been left in my letter box with the other mail.

          • +1

@trixieb: You can contact Boost Mobile support asking them to give you the mail tracking number.

thanks, bought one via cashrewards app and tracked in a minute

Can I activate later than 21 October 2024 as my plan finish in Nov.

    • +1

Cashback is most likely to be rejected if you don't activate the SIM within 30 days of ordering (by mid Sep 2024). That means you will pay $12 for this SIM card instead of it being free.

A few months ago, Telstra/Boost has been checking and enforcing the 30 day activation from order date and rejecting cashback when not activated within 30 days.

        Thanks.

  • I'm still wondering if I buy this prepaid SIM, can someone else activate it, and will the cashback still be eligible?

    • +1

Yes, cashback is eligible as long as the SIM card is activated within 30 days. It is not a requirement for the same person to be buying and activating the SIM card.

      • +1

        thank you!

  • This SIM not showing on cashrewards web site, expired?

    • @the hairy bear It is still there. When you shop from Cashrewards, it will take you to the Boost website.
You are buying the 28 day SIM 70GB for $12 (save $23). Picture has $35 on the SIM card.

      Cashback: $35 28-day Prepaid SIM $12

  • Is it possible to buy a physical sim then convert to eSIM and still be eligible for cashback?

      • Hmm I'll give it a go since one user said they still got the cashback from SB.

I forgot if boost sims come pre activated though? Or is that Amaysim?

        • +1

          Boost is not preactivated.

          The differences:

          Boost

          • Not preactivated when you purchase. Have to activate when you receive the SIM.
          • Person that is purchasing doesn't have to be the same person that is activating the SIM.
          • Activate within 30 days of ordering.

          Amaysim

          • Arrives preactivated. When you insert the SIM, the 28 day expiry will reset.
          • At the time of purchase, your details are registered with a new mobile number allocated.
          • Activate within 20 days of ordering.
          • @trixieb:

Activate within 20 days of ordering.

But this only applies to ports, since for a new service, as per the first point, it "arrives preactivated"… right?

            • @illumination: Just to clarify this is for Amaysim SIM card which is preactivated when you place the order. You would still need to activate again by inserting the SIM into your phone within 20 days of ordering as per the Amaysim/Cashrewards T&Cs to ensure cashback. Your 28 day expiry will reset then so you get the full 28 days. If you don't use or insert the SIM card, the 28 day expiry starts from the day of purchase. Amaysim can check if you have activated within 20 days of ordering and may reject cashback. According to comments here, Cashrewards no longer approves the Amaysim cashback quickly (before you receive the order or insert the SIM).

For the Boost SIM card in this offer, it's simply activate within 30 days of ordering.

              • @trixieb: where does it state you need to activate again in the terms?

                • @eeeee: With this Boost offer, in my post description above and also on Cashrewards/Boost T&Cs:

                  • Under What you need to know, Special terms, second line
                  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

In the past, Telstra/Boost may not have enforced the activation. However a few months ago, Telstra/Boost has been checking and enforcing the 30 day activation from order date and rejecting cashback when not activated within 30 days.

Please read TA's comments here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15597239/redir

                  • @trixieb: Thank you. Sorry I was not clear. With amaysim activation. They come preactivated. I rang to activate and they said no need. So I was wondering where does it state I need to reactivate but installing the sim in the phone?

                    • @eeeee: It's in their terms on the cashback websites/app. This Amaysim offer has the 3 cashback companies listed and states the activation term: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/860966

With Amaysim, when you insert the SIM, it seems to activate and reset the date to 28 days. Sometimes the reset may not work (ie you lose out on the days) and you would have to contact Amaysim to manually reset the 28 day expiry.

                      • @trixieb: I still can't see the condition. It says "SIM must be activated within 20 days of purchase". As far as I can see, it comes activated so condition is met. Have you actually seen the condition requiring someone to actually insert the sim within 20 days? For receiving text and calls only and if not interested in outgoing phone calls or texts, no need to insert sim until you need it. I am very confused where the insert sim condition came from.

Thanks. $12 for the SIM 70 gig and $12 cash back from cash rewards which tracked immediately. thank you Trixie b

  • Always get something wrong error , tried different details, cards, devices etc still no luck

    • Probably got hard banned by Boost, I had that issue before but it’s been several months since I last bought any sims and buying four have been OK for me. Tough luck.. :(

  • I cna't type anthing in the payment details. Am I banned?

    • Perhaps delete your history and start again.
The comments on being blocked by Boost refer to getting the message Sorry, something went wrong after adding the payment details and submitting the order.

      • Thanks! I tried yesterday and today with different browsers and still I can't enter any card information when checking out.

        • Just tested the Boost website and was able to add payment details.
I googled your issue but couldn't find any comments on it.
Do you mean there is no cursor in the card details section so you cannot type the numbers in (and doesn't matter what card type it is)?

        • That's strange… it happened to me at first as well, using a different browser and / or clearing browsing data made it load normally (did both, can't remember what did it), But I can't get past sORRY uNABLE pROCESS oRDER (…) (despite not ordering a boost sim for a few months, and initially being able to bypass by purposely putting in address errors…)

  • +1

    Thanks, tracked within a minute.

  • Another question, if i activate one of these how long will it last before the service terminates? like… if i don't recharge

    • +1

This SIM will expire after 28 days. If you don't recharge, you can still receive texts for about 6 months.

From Boost: If your phone isn’t recharged for a period of 6 months it will be deemed inactive and you will lose your number.

      • +1

        appreciate the reply man

  • I bought one but I am not sure if this will be honoured after reading TA's comment.
If Boost rejects it because the number is not active, then CR may not honour it too and blame it on Boost even if T&C does not mention it.
It would be huge financial hit for CR if they have to pay this out of their own pocket.

    • +1

Just to clarify, letting the number expire and not recharging is fine for cashback.

I assume you plan to deactivate by asking Boost to remove the number or porting out. It's on Cashrewards as it's not stated in their Boost T&Cs. It is a risk in case Cashrewards declines cashback. However I've found Cashrewards customer service recently to be responsive and helpful.

      • CR has been great so far in honouring CB. I do not plan to deactivate. But now I get the difference between deactivate and expire.
        Thank you for clarifying. 👌

        • I will update the post description to be clear. Thanks.

  • When does this offer expire?

    • The $12 offer from Boost expires on 19th August.
Cashrewards $12 cashback hasn't listed an expiry date.

      • +1

        Thanks for the clarification :)

        • @arnottsmintslice Just informing you that Cashrewards has reduced the cashback to $10 now so it will cost $2 after cashback. If you haven't bought yet and prefer a free SIM, another cashback company TopCashback still has the offer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/861330

  • can you use this to recharge existing boost mobile to keep the same number alive?

    • Unfortunately not.

T&Cs: Cashback is ineligible on recharges

  • Mine tracked instantly but only $7.80. Anyone with same Issue?

    • Yes $7.80 for me.

      • @the hairy bear It should have been $12 tracking, not $7.80. Meant to be a free SIM after cashback.
        Best to email: support@cashrewards.com
        Hope it's sorted soon.

    • @Jared17 That's odd. Just checking that you were charged $12 for the 70GB SIM.
Tracking would be $12, not $7.80.

      Best to email: support@cashrewards.com
I've found Cashrewards to be responsive and helpful recently.

      • +1

Ok thanks. I've reported the issue in the app enquiry

  • cashback $7.80 for me too

  • Same here only tracked $7.80. Was showing $12 on the rates page, now it shows $10.

    • @TomGum Thanks for that. Cashback has reduced to $10 now. I've expired the deal.
As mentioned to the others, please email support@cashrewards.com.
Tracking should be $12 for a free SIM after cashback.

  • Got the SIM today, trying to activate:

    Something went wrong
We’re unable to process the request at this time.
