  • I have been waiting for this deal. Thanks OP.

Enloops come up here every so often and I am amazed at their popularity!

20% Higher capacity, better quality and cheaper batteries are available from hobbyking.

      5 x 900mah AAA for $7.95 delivered (vs the 750mah eneloops)
      10 x 2400mah AA for $19.70 delivered (vs the 2000mah eneloops)
      * (All available individually, but these quatities seem the best bang for buck!)

      • Please note : these are AAA and NOT AA (I almost ordered and saw they were 800mah.)

        • +1

I would rather pay the extra for the Japanese batteries.

      • +1

How do u get 10 AA for $19.70 delivered? I calculated as

        10 AA = $15.90
        350g postage = $9.99

        • Yeah I was pretty disappointed to go through and see the postage on that site too.

  • A pretty ordinary price for AAA LSD batteries. real ones

If they start selling the AA for this price, I would seriously consider it because HK's shipping erodes the value.

    • +1

Weren't the glitter 8 packs about $20? Or am I remembering wrong..

      • They were selling 8 x AA glitter Eneloops for $19.95

        • +3

I wish santa would include glitter Eneloops with all the power hungry toys.

        • Yeah I missed those…

          x_X

    • +1

Turns out they are -> http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4414/eneloop-aa-rechargeabl…

Not a bad price for pickup :)

      • +2

I ended up buying two sets of AA for $22, sure its not $19.95 but still a decent price :)

        • omg yes.

          Thanks guys.

  • +2

Well the Eneloop AAA Tupac is also 50% @ $6 each.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4467/eneloop-aaa-rechargeab…

  • Funny thing i was talking to the sale rep in dse yesterday abt eneloop on special. He said no idea when. Then just now i saw this on ozb i got 2 packs $22. Awsome deal
    Thank op

  • Awesome i was just going to order these online tonight.

  • I seem to be able to charge these Eneloops to 2250mAh, which is more than 10% higher than rated when using a Lacrosse charger.

    • +1

Or your Lacrosse charger is just reporting wrong?

      • No, I have 2 La Crosse chargers and all my cells have exceeded 2200, some even topped 2300, confirmed on both units. If you check the reviews on Amazon this is fairly common for Eneloops. My AAA's haven't been as successful but still all of those are over 800.

  • has anyone tried to order these online? During the paymetn process, it just kicks me back to the homepage???
Have no idea if my payment went through, and nothing shows up in order history.
    This has happened twice

    • just ordered 2 packs to be collected from bondi, at first it wouldnt accept click & collect, my solution was to restart the browser and all worked fine afterwards. Maybe it's worth a try.

  • thanks got 2

  • Recommend a charger anyone?

  • Is there a charger I can buy locally? I know of ones on Amazon but having local warranty would be nice

  • Thanks OP, just got my 2 packs from the shop.

  • can you use the regular "energizer" charger to charge these?

  • +3

Under new ownership DSE no longer have referral links in mbc/starthere and buckscoop/qwibble and now charge 1.9% for Amex/Diners.

Also their site seems to be shaky or it could be my access but I got errors on the page.

And as it's not Woolies anymore, no more Everyday Rewards either.

    New owners are cutting costs.

Edit: thanks OP, got some for the cordless phones, cb radios and any other junk I buy that is recommended by OzB

  • 800mAh is not bad deal. I almost thought they were the 600mAh lites.

    • +1

For most AAA use I found the 600mAh Eneloop LITEs great. Few AAA uses are "high drain", except torches. All Eneloops hold a charge over a long time. That is handy in appliance remotes - a common use in most households. No need for a higher capacity battery in this type of use. Has the added advantage of not leaking like ordinary batteries, but has a long life between charges.

Eneloop LITE: 2000 charge life, faster charging, lighter, cheaper, just 600mAh against 800mAh.

As an alternative for same price as 4 AAA delivered from DS (but about 2wk delivery time):
eg 8 AAA Eneloop LITE for us$15.50 (AU$14.83) delivered http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANYO-eneloop-LITE-AA-x-8-NiMH-Re…
Have bought from this Korean seller. Very happy with these batteries. Many positive reports on OB.

  • Has anyone ever had any problems with these before? .. I got a pack of the glitter ones before and used them like once and then when i put them into my Lacrosse BC-700 to charge,

it gives a reading of "- -" and wont charge, only happened to like 2 batteries out of 8

    any one had this experience?

Did you try the paperclip trick (it's in the LaCrosse manual)?

Disclaimer: Follow the below at your own risk - I am not responsible for you electrocuting yourself, short-circuiting your house, killing batteries or chargers etc.

      1) Unplug the charger
      2) Put the "bad" battery in compartment 1
      3) Put a "good" battery in the adjoining compartment
      4) Double check the charger is unplugged
      5) Take a straightened paper-clip, and put it across the top of the two batteries so that it is in contact with the terminals - this should now bring some slight charge across to the bad battery. Keep it there for around 20-30 seconds
      6) Remove paper-clip
      7) Plug in the charger to the power-point

It should hopefully now see the bad battery and start charging it.

    • +3

A few chargers have trouble with completely flat rechargeables - the suggested 'paper clip trick' should work. I just chuck them in an old NiCd charger to give some charge, then charge OK back in a good charger. (Have a DS NiMh charger that always has refused to charge DS NiMhs that came with the charger, unless thay are almost full.)

    • +1

      cool thanks

I thought they were dead and threw them out.. silly me

will try the trick next time then

  • +1

Just be aware that they are older type, the new type is described here:
    http://www.eneloop.info/eneloop-products/eneloop-batteries/e…
How to tell them apart? See FAQ here:
    http://www.eneloop.info/eneloop-products/faqs/faqs-eneloop.h…
read the first point: "How can I check which eneloop is an "old" one or an improved one?" (of course there is nothing wrong with the older type).

THE BEST CHARGER which will last forever and extend life of your rechargables:
    http://protog.com.au/maha-powerex-mhc9000-wizardone-aaaaa-ba…
($20 less on eBay from US incl. shipping). LaCross chargers are also pretty good, but not as solidly build (example: flexing board with front panel switches). Do not destroy your rechargable batteries with poor quality charger! Yes, $60-$80 for a charger is a lot, but a good one will last for many years and your batteries will also last much longer!

    • Noooo! Oh well. Still good I guess old type still ok /switching brain off now. Lol.

    • My Maha 9000 is now over 5 years old and still running perfectly. Some of my original AA Eneloops still recover to around 1500 mAH - top charger!

  • Sold out wynard dse the last packet of AAA was in someone elses hand. No charger either

  • nice work! good deal!

Most place already got ozbargain'ed, out of stock to pick up.

Deliver costs too much no savings at all.

    Skipping this one.

  • +1

Those who missed out can try a 'Customer Order', pay in advance @ this price and be notified when stock comes in.

That is how I got my Glitters a few weeks ago.

  • Awesome thanks picked up late night shopping , u can check stock online with dse for ur local store

  • Aldi has there own brand of these LSD batteries and I'm pretty sure they're under $10. Is this the death of delivered LSD batteries? Anyone tried them? 60 day no questions asked refund after all…

    • "These LSD batteries"? You try them and let us know!!

      • I've tried the non-LSD aldi batteries and they're as good as any other 2400mAh NiMh batteries I've tried. Don't see why the LSDs would be too different to the competition, these guys save money because of the insane numbers they buy, not necessarily because they 'skimp' (although until you try… YMMV)

        • and they are made in China while the Eneloop is made in Japan.

          I know what I will be picking(eneloop).

        • There was a independent study conducted but I can't seem to find it. Anyone done an indepth review?

        • probably the 6 month lsd batteries rather than 12 month…

          still good though.

  • bought 2 x AAA thanks

  • Delivery FREE (not until near end of purchase) this weekend.
Some 2 pack AAA's $6 still available for delivery at moment.
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4467/eneloop-aaa-rechargeab…

    • I'v reported it to the mods but can anyone else confirm that home deliver is no longer offered? It has a cross; it's been OzBargained?

  • +2

Made a reservation at DS Hurtville.

Went there to claim and they are giving me a AAA Eneloop battery with "OPEN" case.

I ask why it is open, the sales person told me he accidentally open it. What an answer :-)
Why sales person would open the case of a battery?

I ask are you sure you opened it just now and it is not yet used?
    - he said yes.

I look at the casing and pull out the battery and saw all the batteries has markings at the bottom side.
which is a proof that someone used it. They just refund me the money and said mo no more stock left.

    • LOL! one of the dodgy DSE stores causing Woolie to make losses. Hope it is closed down soon.

      • probably an ozbargainer trying to swap fake eneloops he/she got from eBay.

  • For anyone that is interested in the La Crosse Technology BC-700 charger from Amazon, in the last 2 days its come down from $39.32 and is currently $28.79. That makes it USD$36.77 delivered.
