I think cheapest ever price for the 2TB heatsink version.

Nope. But you can say the current market cheapest…

    • I had that thought. Not even close.

  • What's the consensus best value SSD I can buy for my PS5? I've seen comments that it's cheaper to buy a heatsink and assemble it together but any favorites for both SSD unit and heatsink unit for doing a DIY?

  • Is there something special about this drive that makes it cost this much? Over a year ago, a SK Hynix Platinum P41 cost at least $50 less.

SSD prices have risen this year due to reduced production from the biggest NAND supplier. Comments online seem to indicate that it will continue to be this way for some time.

  • Non-heatsink versions are quite cheap @ Amazon Germany:

I was looking for things to expand my Mac storage, so ended up grabbing two of the 4TB - for which this MAIWO K1695 for ~$66 is probably the cheapest enclosure. I went for the MAIWO K1717 @ $75 including a bag, but since there are reported issues with the ASM2464PD controller on certain devices I grabbed the reliable Acasis TBU405ProM1 for greater compatibility at the expense of a tiny bit of speed, $115ish for me. If you don't want to squeeze every penny, the OWC Express 1M2 seems to be the single most reliable option for Macs that I could find in hours of forum spelunking, there's 10% off storewide at Upgradeable at least until today which has an empty enclosure at $191.52, or $585 populated with a 4GB drive - which is probably a bit more robust and cost-effective for time than the research hole I fell into :)
