Dreadful game. Horrible over-use of antialiasing makes the game look like smush. Frame rate choices are 30 or 60 FPS. Ugly characters, cringe dialog, infuriating UI and dull racing. I have this on both PC and PlayStation because I installed the demo and apparently I can just keep playing. Or maybe I have a certain number of hours to try it and I never hit that limit. Extremely disappointing even for $20 it would be overpriced. There are better Indy racers available cheaper that are more fun.

    • imagine paying $170 for it

  • I wonder why the standard edition of this hasn't dropped to below $2 like The Crew 2. Newer?

    • Yes, The Crew 2 released mid 2018 and The Crew Motorfest released late 2023.

You may think this is a decent replacement for the Forza Horizon games if you can find it cheap. It is not. It's approximately like those games, just executed at a solid 5.5/10.

Aside from the all round mediocreness, it forces you to complete the "Playlists" with set cars (not the cars you own, ones they choose for each race). So there's no feeling of ownership over your car, improving it, deciding between upgrades etc. And it doesn't feel like it's a consistent experience, it's just a bunch of race vignettes strung together masquerading as an open world game.

thank you for the review, the videos on youtube also dont show a true open world (TC2)

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out why the game takes you through the tedious process of buying your first car, and then immediately take you to a race where you are forced to drive another car they lend you for that race. Confusing and demotivating.

    • "You cannot use your own cars until the playlist is completed. Playlists are curated a special way that force cars on first play through. After that you can specify what car to use and even the time of day and weather." - source

I’m having fun with it, haters gonna hate but I recommend it. Is it forza horizon? No, but I’ve played the s*** out of that series and this is something different but just as fun.

  • Deluxe, Gold & Ultimate edition appears to cost significantly more yet only offers some extra vehicles and skins (at least discount closes those gaps)

map expansion (Maui island) coming this november for free

if game is good and want to show support might upgrade to ultimate eventually when it's discounted under $10

might show my support once they confirm offline mode rather than their vague statement

We are currently exploring different solutions and can confirm an offline mode to ensure long term access to both titles

at least they've committed to it

  • $26.98 on steam if you already own The Crew 2, which should give you a license to use directly within ubisoft connect so you can choose launcher

    • $26.98 on steam if you already own The Crew 2

Is this for The Crew Motorfest Ultimate Edition? or the standard edition? (on steam)

I have The Crew 2, but standard edition is $29.98 and ultimate is $50.98 (on steam)

my apologies i should have clarified, its standard edition, the bundle at the very bottom of your screenshot

unless you want some extra cars and skins i don't think the ultimate edition has any other benefit?

although have noticed no upgrade path to ultimate edition from standard, you have to buy the full thing again, looks like ubisoft knows how to rope us into the more expensive offerings
