They are pretty nice to use though I expect to only get a few more years out of them.
My wired G502 from 2014/15 saw daily use up until early 2023. Only problems were that one of the skates on the bottom started to peel off and the RGB on the G logo had started to fade, but otherwise no issues at all.
Better than when someone I know decided to pull those feet off a brand new g502x plus as he thought they were protective stickers. 8 years use vs 8 minutes use 😂
Nice, that is a good run. This is my first 500 series one; my previous G400 series seemed to cap out at about 3-4 years. I don't feel like I use them particularly hard, either. The last one didn't really die hard, just the scroll wheel would start skipping every few turns, was just enough to be frustrating.
Try to get the G502X wired instead - it is vastly superior imo.
Ie this one would be $68 if you use your $30 ebay plus retention coupon on it - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295673828326?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…
Alternatively - $79 from Amazon - https://amzn.asia/d/29p8m3Y
worth the extra $13 imo
ok I just tried to link a $20 bungee from ali express as an option to go with this but it didn’t let me…
Anyway I was just saying that I prefer wired mouse over wireless these days:
- more reliable
- better latency
- no worry about needing to charge battery
- better latency
People like you are STILL spreading this misinformation?
There is no difference in latency between wired mouses and high-end wireless mouses.
- more reliable
Worthless statement.
Whilst I agree that good wireless mouses have similar latency to wired these days, reliability is not a worthless point.
As with all wireless equipment, it is prone to interference from other wireless signals or materials that can interfere with wireless signals.
Uh oh, someone made a comment based on their own personal experience and preference.
Time to go on the attack.
@jaydee4: It's not a matter of preference or personal experience. It is objectively provable that modern high-end wireless mice do not have any human-noticeable latency. To suggest otherwise just means you're wrong.
Top level CSGO and Valorant Pros use wireless mice because the weight of the cable makes a bigger difference than any form of latency.
There are a lot of good comments in this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1ayx81y/wires_…
"When using higher polling rates, I started to appreciate wires again"
"I mean some wireless mice can definitely be lower latency than some wired but wired DAVE is lower latency than wireless DAVE and OP1 8k or even OP1 is lower latency than OP1we. Yet still cheaper and lighter too."
"Well usually it's cheaper and lighter than the equivalent of wireless of the same shape. And ofc latency is probably tiny non-noticeable amount better."
@Gamer Dad Reviews: Mate you use a G502, that maxes out at 1k polling rate.
None of that applies to the G502 or any mouse with a recent sensor at 1k hz, its about 8k hz which tbh is overkill unless you got a 500hz monitor or something along those lines.
Theres been many tests where wireless is lower latency than wired.
Heres a great video from Optimum (Aussie youtuber) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy0xmcBg_IY
Video is from 2021 and gaming mice have only improved since then.
Personal preference is great but dont spread misinformation.
@Axelstrife: Yeah I've watched the video multiple times over the years - in which Optimum tech proves that wired is faster. And while the 0.5ms reduction in latency that the superior wired technology provides over inferior wireless (at a cheaper cost as well) doesn't SOUND like much - in my own every day use I can definitely feel the snappier latency.

So why are you using a G502 x wired then?
If you're that sensitive to the latency id assume you would be using any of the both wired and wireless mice that have lower latency than the 2.1ms of the G502 x that you own and use.
Endgame Gear OP1 8k - 0.6ms - Wired
Razer Viper V3 Pro - 1ms - Wireless (1.4ms Wired)
To name a couple, i personally own and use the Viper v3 pro.
Certainly seems strange for someone advocating that wired is the best yet you use a slow 2.1ms mouse.

Clearly an older guy with very much out dated knowledge.
I also have a G502X Plus Wireless btw. I went through a “totally wireless” stage but have now circled back to wired. I like the physicality and tangibility of wired more. Personal preference sure. But with a mouse bungee, the wired experience has been great for me.
I have owned both the G502 Hero in this deal and the G502X (both wired and wireless versions) over the years, and there’s a big big difference between them(to me at least).
I eventually had to sell the older G502 on ebay - it was too clunky and heavy and I hated it. It didn't fit my hand-shape at all.
The wired G502X however is MUCH lighter and feels MUCH better in-hand.
Furthermore, the wired G502X is the cheapest mouse on the market with both a 1Khz polling rate and the free-spinning mouse wheel - which (for me) is a non-negotiable necessity for productivity work.
The wired G502X is the best mixed-use mouse on the market in my opinion - by far - and the fact that it can be bought for under $100 represents incredible value.
My G502 is 7 years old and still going strong.
Yep, unlike their Logitech G keyboards, this mouse (at least the wired one from my experience) is built like a tank. No issues with switches failing either.
I have not had the same experience with the keyboards. Have been fine. Well, all but one, but was replaced under warranty
I had this mouse have the left click stop working within 2 years, got it replaced and it happened again with the new one.
got the proteus spectrum similar to this mouse has lasted 7 years
wireless on sale too - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BCJVJ5FP?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_a…
I have two of these (one for office & one home), bought Nov 2023 for $41.23 from Amazon. They are pretty nice to use though I expect to only get a few more years out of them. I don't use any of the advanced functionality though do have the annoyingly huge Logitech software installed.
