Logitech UE Wireless Boombox (Bluetooth Speakers) down to $179 from $297 at JB Hi-Fi Ends Sunday

50

Was in JB Hifi Macquarie and noticed all these tags saying 30% off all Logitech (some exclusions). Asked the assistant to scan the Logitech UE Wireless Boombox for me (tagged price $297) and it came out at $179, which is 40% off.

I tried pairing this via bluetooth and this thing can be LOUD. :) Can also accept cable input. Product page at http://ue.logitech.com/en-au/wireless-speakers/boombox

Cheapest on StaticIce is $239 from Logitechshop.

Totally different model. The mini is rrp $99 and was discounted down to $48 at Big W (search OzB). This one is a LOT larger with a large battery as well.

        • The Mini is different to the $99 JB one too, which has bluetooth. Pity about the color scheme though.

    • Looks like a different unit.

Does this have internal battery that's rechargable? And can play it permanently plugged into power socket?

        Yes and Yes

    • Logitech UE Boombox, not mobile boombox.

Logitech presumably running out the model and, like the smaller boombox, will (and should) go lower.
All decent / recent bluetooth speakers have support for the Apt-X codec. If you have any newish or upper end Samsung phone or tab, HTC handset etc. it takes away the muddiness of some music over bluetooth.
If you're looking to connect with a Nexus phone or tab it won't make any difference as Google in their wisdom decided to leave it off the spec sheet. Must have been 5 cents per unit too expensive to buy the licence… Alas.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago from JB Hi-Fi during their 30% off Logitech special and paid $208. It is a brand new model so definitely not a run out so I was surprised it was included in their 30% off. If you can get it for $179 it is an amazing price.

I upgraded from a Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 as I switched from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy Note and could no longer use it due to the iPhone dock. I could have used a headphone cable and plugged it in but it was due to be upgraded. It has amazing sound for its size, has batteries that last 6hrs so you can take it with you and can be used by most devices with bluetooth. Going from the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 it is a massive step up in sound quality and it also looks really good.

If I could think of any negatives it would be that there is no battery indicator and when it is running off batteries the maximum volume drops down a bit. Also if you walk too far away and have your phone in your pocket then the sound will cut out but it comes straight back when in range again.

At that price I would recommend this to anyone without hesitation.

You might as well use the Pure-Fi somewhere else less important with one of these bluetooth adaptors:

      • Great advice, cheers!

        • I ordered this one as it doesn't mention anything about incompatibilities with docks:

I wish there was one with AVRCP so I can control my phone's player over bluetooth with my car's steering wheel controls!

  • Got mine for $172.90 just then with the advertised 30% off. Works out to be 44% off
